Thought Maribor put in a good account of themselves. They kept Cesc off the ball and when he did get it was poor... There is only one talking point from the match though, Eden Hazard. I thought he was unbelievable in the build up and unbelievably poor finishing off incredible chances. The pen was awful, the 1 v 1 when Oscar played him in was Torresseque. He really needs to work on finishing, the pen was one thing but this is now two times in recent weeks where he's clear through on goal and missed... Not good Having said that he was my MotM, that's not saying much though

Agree... And there is no better way to prepare for Liverpool than to play good football and find our A game. Resting players is good when they need rest I don't think we've reached that point yet. I want a strong lineup, one that can kill the game early and build an understanding heading into the weekend.

Hazard.... We looked like last years team today, wasn't sure we were gonna get the right result. Very poor in the build up and no real quality in the final 3rd... Hazard once again saves us. What was wrong with the supporters today? was like a library in there.

This would hold true if we didn't generate enough chances to smash them, we did, it was just poor decision making from Salah and Schurrle that led to this being closer than it needed to be. Agree the pitch was shit and our build up was mostly hollywood balls but that doesn't detract from the fact that those two had something to prove and looked poor trying to do it.

Maybe I'm more of a Jose disciple than most. We haven't lost... Away games at tough grounds are not the place to be cavalier and offensive, we controlled Utd and they got the benefit of a poor refereeing decision. Against City at no point in the match were we in the ascendency mainly because they are a damn good team. There are teams and situations where going mano e mano are to our advantage like Swansea and Everton. To me each game has its own unique circumstances that dictate what is the right course of action, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. So long as Jose gets it right more often than not I will have no gripe... we're undefeated in the toughest competition in the world and we probably deserve a 100% record, unfortunately luck wasn't on our side on two occasions. Carefree at the top of the league!

Depends on how you interpret what was being said here. Its fucking Shrewsbury for crissakes... they're something like 90 places below us in the english standings(league two!!!), that is significant! We should be smashing teams like that with players like Schurrle and Salah on the pitch. Jose has already come out and said they were disappointments so take from that what you will.

This is becoming the most ridiculous conversation... Trying to shut up shop cost us games last year? Question, how many games did we win using this tactic? Nothing is foolproof my friend, you say it doesn't work all the time but guess what NOTHING WORKS ALL THE TIME(Cap lock engaged) Jose knows what he's doing he's won a ton and will continue to do so, let him do his job if after this season we are without silverware then you can bitch and moan.

I'm questioning that, BIG TIME. We have the better keeper(s) We have the better defense Matic and Yaya kind of a wash since Matic is much better defensively but Yaya is much better going forward. Fabregas is way better than either Fernandinho or Fernando Aguero is better than Costa but not by much if you ask me and I'm saying that mainly because Aguero has been doing it in the league for longer. Silva has more than Oscar going forward but defensively Oscar is much better. Hazard DESTROYS Nasri. Willian is better than Navas imo. Dzeko is better than Remy (I'd rather Remy) Schurrle and Milner are a wash Ramires similar to Fernandinho. I really think we have the measure of them this year.

I don't need to go to any forums, I can draw my own conclusions from what I see. Lukaku is not the striker we needed (complete) but he is still very useful and in some ways skillful. I've seen many strikers who have better technique, touch and can hold the ball score way fewer goals than he has tallied for West Brom and Everton. He's not a finished article, what he lacks in technique he will compensate for with movement and physical presence once he matures mentally.

hahahaha.

Anyone know what Rio Ferdinand tweeted? He got 3 games for it.
-
anyways now that we've vanquished the non-believers, Drogba's now got 3 goals in his last 3 games! Not exactly an easy feat especially when you consider he isn't playing a lot of football. I fancy him to get double digits in all competitions this year.
-
done it. You're out of your depth dude. Lets go back to 'Drogba is too old to have an impact' a little less embarrassing than what you've followed up with.
-
embarrassing.
-
Lol... next you should make a homophobic post about me, that's the only logical place to go after this.
-
what a burn!!!! Ohhhh You got me!! What will he do for an encore ladies and gentlemen?? post a picture of a fella in a wheelchair?
-
Why would I have to do that when I got clowns like you who give me tons of material to polk holes through?
-
All I can say is thank God Jose Mourinho is the manager and not you spoiled like kids who I liken to virgins on prom night mugging themselves before the big dance. Didier is a legend and he always will be, your love seems fleeting if you can disregard him so early into his return. Just glad he's proving the doubters wrong is all.
-
What does it matter if he's looking old? you said hopefully we won't see him again, you still feel that way? Its not about the age its the heart. Can you find a better 3rd striker who can hold up the ball, score two footed, be a big presence from set pieces both offensively and defensively and also be an extension of the manager in the dressing room ON A FREE? Drogba deserves more respect than that from you guys, the reason you're even following the club is likely because of him. He brings so many things that can't be measured by age and to be honest I'm surprised a poster like you can't see how his presence would be invaluable to players like Hazard, who if Drogba didn't score on Sunday would've been the scapegoat.
-
I've been waiting for this since the 17th... You guys notoriously jump the gun and speak about a legend like Drogba like he's some dude named 'stanley' from twickenham. Never question the heart of a lion is the lesson I hope you learnt. He will never be what he was but he still has enough skill to help us in situations because he is a BIG character and a WINNER.

Have a feeling Chris Foy will have a role to play for the FA. Dowd did his best but couldn't get it right for them.
-
So well said. 100% agreement on everything here.
-
Glad you saw the errors of your ways.

No idea what you're banging on about. Shit footballer don't score with regularity in the toughest competition in the world... You're trolling and making an ass of yourself.
