Haha you're having a field day today! Give the guy a break its not like he's completely useless.
-
Salah ain't it...
-
They aren't that far off Bournemouth won 8-0 on the weekend and are top of the championship
-
Schurrle ain't it.
-
THE KING
-
As he should he has A LOT more to prove! But his finishing has been rec league.
-
Salah and Schurrle.... This is why they won't play as much as they'd like this year. Poor decision making and awful finishing.
-
He'll come on
-
SO excited to see Christensen from the start! Baker will come on for Oscar if we get this comfortable early
-
Apparently they broke up? Not sure but ya he was killing me on Twitter with his many posts of that chick...
-
Would love to see Zouma and Christensen from the start. With the way the team speak so highly of Andreas, it would be a real slap in the face if he can't play against a league 1 team. Cech Christensen, Zouma, Cahill, Luis Mikel, Ake, Ramires Salah, Brown, Schurrle

Which Players Do You Regret Chelsea Selling?

Robben and Sturridge -
No chance. He played in the u-21 today. The squad had already left for Shrewsbury

Thought he got better as the game went on but we have to give credit where it is due, Van Gaal had a really good game plan and his team executed the defensive instructions well. From what I saw they man marked Cesc with Fellaini, Matic with Mata(lol he did okay though) and Blind on Oscar. That's why Hazard and Willian were afforded so much space down the flanks. As good as Hazard was I thought he could've done more.... Cesc needed to get on the ball but only because we didn't make proper use of the space in the midfield. Hate to admit it but a ball playing defender like Luiz would've been useful here. If they're gonna hug Cesc so closely we need someone on the ball from deep who can distribute the ball. He's not gonna zig zag and run away from defenders to get himself in position to receive the ball, we just have to be better at utilizing the space available just my opinion of course.

exactly.

I'm saying we at no point had control of that match. We were on the back foot from the first kick... I'm not saying I agree, just pointing out the truism... City were very good. Also, the point is it makes absolutely NO sense to make blanket statements about in game tactics from one match to another mainly because every situation has its own set of unique properties that influence ones decision.
-
did we have any control of the city match at any time? whether it was 11v11 or 11v10? City were simply better than us on the day. We were able to get a goal up on the red but other than that its not like we had any control of the match. Am I right in saying that?
-
I would argue the majority of the time Oscar, Hazard and Willian were on the pitch the game favoured Utd. They had a better first half than us and from 54 to 75 we had the better run and control. Its weird because what we're talking about is a game that is on knife's edge. If we go forward and look for the deathblow, we open ourselves up to allowing the opponent to catch us. I'm saying the tactics were dictated, not by the flow of the game, but by the simple fact that we had 3 CM's on yellow cards and we were no longer able to press aggressively win the ball and counter attack. When you're 'cautioned' the approach to the game must be 'cautious' we had 6 yellow cards, I can't remember a game where that many were doled out.
-
hey man! the stats don't lie!!! Utd Dominated us in the second half!!! hahahaha
-
for the record he also said we were well in control of the match right up until the goal...
-
you're making blanket statements about the tactics like every situation is exactly the same. Each one has its own unique properties... but go on with your 'paint by numbers' analytics... its really clever.
-
There is no point dude I'm merely stating the facts.
-
This is becoming so asinine... mainly because you only comprehend one side of the story. Let me see if I can try and break it down into simple terms. We had one recognized striker, he happens to be the only one who is adept at winning headers should we need to defend a set piece... Drogba. If we needed an outlet ball who are we using as a target man, Schurrle? LOL... We had 3 CM's on yellows, when you think of which position is most at risk do you think striker or CM? When you look at the bench and you see a bunch of kids and one experienced big game CM what is the logical decision, leave all of our at risk CM's on or take one off for one of the only players we had on the bench with experience? hmmmm... I know what a smart manager would do where do you fall? We made the sub because of the yellows and because the guys were looking knackered. One tired challenge and its red... His hand was forced. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW??? I Somehow doubt it.
-
No it wasn't! Our "defensive" substitutions were not made at 65 against either team. They were made when we needed to tighten up and look to hit them on the break. You guys act as if footballers are robots, like fatigue, both physical and mental aren't things that you need to account for in the management of games. We drew city away and utd away, at city perhaps would've been better to be more attacking since they were reduced to a man but utd had no control of the game and we had multiple yellows. You guys keep ignoring the simple facts of the game in favour of the football manager-like ridiculous suggestions. What smart manager in their right mind, up a goal on the road with six yellows is not gonna sub one of the at risk players for another player in a similar position? This is simple X's and O's fellas.
