  1. Agreed. I just think its so short sighted that you turn your back on a legend because at 36 he's sitting on our title challengers bench... City aren't even rivals really. I had far too many fond memories of Frank to have this minor blip keep him from coming back to the club at some point.
  2. Some consider Poyet a club legend, he kissed the Spurs badge....
  3. But that's not in any shape or form what was being discussed when you jumped in. It was whether he is viewed as a legend in the eyes of Mourinho and the Board and whether or not he will be welcomed back to the club. Go back and read it. How can you attack his legacy? Put an asterisk next to it? HE IS THE GREATEST GOALSCORER THE CLUB HAS EVER SEEN ASIDE FROM MAYBE JIMMY GREAVES! HE'S SCORED MORE GOALS THAN ANYONE HAS EVER SCORED FOR THE CLUB! So because at the end of his career when he had no use to us at the age of 36, he went to collect a cheque and sit on the City bench now he has an asterisk next to his name? LOL Does Dennis Wise have an asterisk? He played for Milwall who are hated by almost every football supporter in England. Kerry Dixon also played for Milwall, Jimmy Greaves went to star for Tottenham(though I admit he's more of a Spurs legend) John Hollins played for QPR and Arsenal! None of the players I've mentioned even come close to Lampard in terms of club status... He's 36, we clearly didn't have a need for him, City did because they need homegrown players. He stays in England and collects a fat cheque before he heads off to the glue factory and while it may smart a bit, no true Chelsea supporter will look back at this even 10-15 yrs from now and think he's any less than a legend/hero/classy individual as he was before he signed for NY. He will be welcomed back to the club with open arms and is a good candidate to sit on the board at some point. It smarts because its new but its a small blip on an illustrious Chelsea career.
  4. What's funny is the fact that you acknowledge his status as a legend is unquestionable but then go on to say that they will never view him the same ever again. Some say contradiction is the lowest form of intelligence, I agree with it. And before you go on about someones reading comprehension skills I suggest you get yourself hooked on phonics, in that small paragraph there are about a dozen fragment sentences. Yes, I understand people are hurt by Frank playing for a rival but that pales in comparison to what he accomplished on the pitch for this club. Why is that so hard to understand? City is a Rival but not anywhere near as big a rivalry as Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd, Liverpool... We haven't had any real heated contests, as a matter of fact most of the games go by without any incidence at all. When its all said and done Frank will be welcomed back to the football club with open arms, as you stated in your first post his status as a legend will remain.
  5. You get that from me when I sense ignorance and short sightedness.
  6. ADD and short term memory is rampant amongst youth these days, I can sympathize with you.
  7. to get anything at Etihad to me is points gained not lost. It was tough how it went down, we could've had maximum points but if you'd polled every Chelsea supporter before the kickoff and asked them if they'd take a point 99% of them would've bitten your arm off for it. Now your just making shit up... how pathetic. Let me play your dumb game though you mean to tell me the 2 goals and 4pts Lamps won for City is enough to taint the legacy of a man who scored 211 for the club and won multiple titles? How long have you been a Chelsea fan?
  8. The eyes don't lie, does Jose look like he's dismissing Lamps as just some other player who he's mad at? or does it look like he's reluctant to speak glowingly about a rival player?
  9. Thats where that quote ORIGINALLY came from, verbatim.
  10. You're being silly, watch the interview. Jose is a competitor, he has no ill-will towards Lamps, its about winning and losing. There isn't one incident that decides the fate of a season, its many instances... you guys keep forgetting that a point at City is a very good result and not one that is to be considered dropped points(even with the late equalizer down a man) Lamps is without question an iconic figure for Chelsea FC and nothing is going to taint what he did for the club from 2001 to 2014, not even the title going back to a very good City. He has a legacy few can touch at the club, he's a record goalscorer for fuck sakes! Nothing will change the history he's written as a legend at the club, precisely why he was sung off the pitch by the most diehard of Chelsea supporters, the travelling away fans.
  11. This is the exact quote by the way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJUkqePcvw4
  12. You guys are nuts... Jose Loves Frank. I think you guys are getting far too caught up in the spirit of competition. You really think Jose is pissed 35yr old Frank, who decided to go sit on the City bench, isn't at the bridge this term? Had we kept Frank who comes out of the team? Ake? I think both parties made the right choice regardless of the outcome. When its said and done Jose and Frank will embrace and speak about the titles they won together, no move Frank makes in the twilight of his career is going to be frowned upon with all the success and friendship they shared.
  13. This game should favour us for a few reasons. First, we are built to cope with playing two matches in a week, Newcastle aren't. Second, Tim Krul is out and has been a great shot stopper for them. I can't imagine a scenario where we won't score, its a question of whether we can keep the clean sheet streak alive.
  14. What's the point? did you hear the question he was responding to? Jose is being Jose, he has no ill-will towards Frank its all in the spirit of competition.
  15. Are you really questioning Lampard's status as a club legend? Really? He will be welcomed back with open arms and rightfully so! The supporters were singing him off the pitch after he scored against us! doesn't that tell you something? Mourinho loves Lamps he just won't speak on him while he's playing for our rival for the title... After that stint is over its back to the love fest.
  16. We're gonna be forced to switch out our natural shield to the back four, why on earth do people want to switch our back 4 as well? its all about understanding and familiarity, I for one don't want to see any changes made to the back four. The midfield is a completely different story, without Matic I think the smart move is to play Mikel and Ramires with Cesc. I would play Oscar wide right and Hazard on the left because I think this will provide us with the most flexibility in formation and variation from attacking runs. Pardew is a proud man, he won't park the bus at home like Sunderland. He spoke about the importance of getting at us in order to get something out of the game which I truly hope they do! We have been good at soaking up pressure the past few weeks. I can see this game being WIDE open and the possibility for goals being great. The need for Mikel in this game is SO important, Cesc and Ramires will likely be overpowered I don't see that happening with Mikel. Costa has to be Costa again. We will need an early goal but we also need to control the first 10-15mins of the second half. If we surrender too much of the possession to them early in the second I can envision it being a very difficult game to get a result in... This fixture worries me more than most, early kickoff at a ground we don't have a lot of luck in. Its rare we look good in early kickoffs away, hoping this is the season to put this to bed much like we have the poor November.
  17. He also said one day there will be a statue outside the Bridge for Lamps! When he's done his career he will always be welcomed back with open arms.
  18. Gonna watch it again and make a full match assessment, but as Liquidator pointed out turning out the flood lights before the game looked majestic!
  19. As I said before when he proves you wrong yet again be prepared to eat your crow in peace. Many here criticize Jose and when he proves them wrong try to site the couple times when he was wrong as if its the rule rather than the few exceptions. If you make it a habit to criticize this unbelievably incredible manager, than don't be upset when his true supporters lash out when you don't acknowledge you were wrong.
  20. He's not perfect but when he once again proves you wrong accept your humble pie with grace. He is the BEST manager in the world and deserves our support and respect regardless of what his decisions are... I actually thought Remy was a good shout for a start today but when I saw it was Didier I wasn't at all bothered by it, you know why? because none of us know the game plan better than our manager. Nobody knows who's in better shape than our manager. Nobody can see who trains best but our manager and that's why he gets the big bucks... He's earned the right for 100% backing from the supporters.
  21. Cahill was precautionary apparently. Zouma looked a boss though, Gary better watch out!
  22. Good shout! I thought that looked EPIC!!! Would love to see them do that more on the European nights! AWESOME
