I should explain further; I would love to have more english players, but not at the cost of quality. And certainly not at this price. IF we are to believe the rumours, we are about to pay around 35-40m on Drinkwater, who is average decent player, but from moon it can be seen he wont be our starter, but only a bench option. Then we are interested in 30-40m Barkley who had absolutely average season and didnt develop at all. Again, maybe a good squad option, thats all. The only one that makes sense (at least at this point) is Ox who will provide depth and competition, nevermind is versatile. He is also english which is not bad. The point is only Ox will be bought for more reasons than just being english. We can find miles better bench options who are also cheaper than Barkley and Drinkwater. And in the end, we seem to spend over 100m on these three players and there is great chance all of them will only be bench players on long run, and on top (again apart from Ox) they will provide very little from bench except for depth. Playing against top sides, and we will think, hey we have Drinkwater and Barkley on bench, yeah that will elevate our play surely. Then whats even more idiotic is selling decent players from our youth squad who also happens to be english. They are no worse than Drinkwater or Barkley at this moment, but obviously they all want to leave because we will forever threat them as nothing but kids who are not ready yet. And bottom line, if we are so desperate to overpay for english players, why didnt we do it earlier when there were at least decent options available? Sterling, Clyne to name a few.

I hope you are not missing your girls holes like you just missquoted my post

Tbh Aurier can play CB, RB or RWB (he played wing back in Toulouse and was excellent). And going straight pvp, not counting personality and off the pitch issues for RWB spot, Aurier indeed is better player than Ox. But yes, either would be fine right now.

Lol Evans to City sounds just like something our board would come up with.
-
Lemar is a wonderful player, hopefuly he stays in Monaco. If it wasnt for this stupid english player policy, I would have Lemar here over Ox any time. Im sure Lemar would be more than capable of playing LW, RW, RwB, LwB, or AM.
-
As far as I know, Lazio agreed on fee with quite a few clubs, but Keita was willing to go only to juve...maybe he accepts Monaco tho. And Jovetic also signed for Monaco too.

Donnie Darko

Im completely lost why would we need Barkley? If we are signing Ox and Drinkwater, plus Cahill and few youth players, we have more than enough english players. Why the hell will we spend 30m on average player when we can eventualy get RLC, Baker and Palmer back. This club would now spend 100m+ on Ox, Drinkwater and Barkley, but neither improves our squad apart from depth. Fucking idiotic. Meanwhile even Pool is buying Keita and Lemar, while also buying english player in Solanke, except they paid just few millions on him.
-
I guess they would play him as AM in midfield three. Like Coutinho, he is quick, skilled and hard worker. Lallana/Wijnaldum-Can/Henderson-Lemar Salah-Firmino-Mane
-
So barca is probably getting Coutinho also, becauseI dont see any other reason why would Pool want Lemar. That said, I hope he doesnt end up there. Brilliant player, but it would be ugly to watch him in pool shirt.
-
Thats alot of money... He is inconsistent, poor in defence and his end product isnt the best either, but has improved. At the very least, he is english and will provide good competition with Moses. But if he is the much needed upgrade, we shall see. If Conte makes him better defender, he is going to be ok, if not we will be looking for new RWB next summer.
-
Wait why would they sell Mustafi?
-
Well Costa derby looks interesting haha We should win against Roma and Qarabag
-
And? He is the type of midfielder that has to be compared to likes of Matic, Casemiro,...he might be b2b but thats solely because he is quite quick, dynamic, great runner and has good ball control. But first and foremost he is ball winner. Can people stop making Kante something he is not. Last season, he has been fantastic and thats why he also won poty of the year, a reward that almost never goes to such type of midfielder. And competition was fairly strong with Eden, Kane, Coutinho, Alexis... It speaks volumes of how great he is doing his job. But I guess until he will score screamers, dribble like Messi and pass like Xavi, people will always complain.
-
I must agree with Mourinho on his Neymar comments though. Paying 220 for Neymar, as huge amount as it is, its still fair. If you have to pay 40m for any decent player nowdays, 200m for one of the very best in the world and young aswell, it makes sense. But paying 150 for Dembele and any similar transfer is beyond ridiculous. This is where "small" clubs raise the prices. Fair play to them, but they have absolutely no right to complain on the fees they will eventualy have to pay for new players.

And Qarabag (chelsea, atletico, roma, qarabag) Not bad group IMO
-
Group C with Atletico and Roma. One more to go...
-
How did he play first two matches?
-
But almost every time we play much better with him than without, at least in terms of results.
-
We are linked with half of leicester lol. The board clearly missed Leicester was the "hot" thing last summer, not this one
-
In that case spurs would be the last to buy him
-
"Chelsea will launch 56th bid for the player"
-
'working on targets'
-
This was the first game in ages where we werent bullied in midifeld by tottenham. Either because of Bakayoko or decision to play 3 in middle, it was great plan by Conte.
-
There is alot of noise in italy that Marchisio wants to leave juve. If he stays injury free I would love him here for a year or two.
