I dont know what you think of Chelsea, but its ENGLISH club and ENGLISH clubs have ENGLISH players. It would be sick if we had not a single englishman in first eleven. Players from home land give club extra respect, imagine Barca without spanish players or Bayern without german. We already have problems in having english players, but to have none, it would be fucking disaster. Period.

Lukaku might be home grown but what has that to do with english player? He can play here for 50 years and will still be belgian... I would like us to have at least 2 English players as starters for the of culture and nature in club. RR is better player, but both have high celiling and we need english people; thats why I would go with Shaw. 30mio is a steep price and is not worth that. If we ever pay that price, I hope he will be just as good as Cole.

Seems logic, Rodriguez is amazing Lb, better than Shaw. But we seriously need more english players in first team, thats why we should sign Shaw.

Apart from the fact that we are now even weaker in Lb position, I couldnt be more excited about this move. Ryan needs regular playtime and I hope he can impress in Vila. He always put best when given a chance, but was overloked by managers. This could mean two: Shaw will arive to compete with Cole or we wont make any decision before summer, when Jose will see exactly how good is Ryan. If Ryan impress, he will be our LB, if he fails to impress, we will sell him and buy Shaw. In both cases, its better than now because having Ryan on bench forever wont help anyone. Show your best at villa Ryan!

I dont believe Jose loaned out Bertrand and wont bring anyone in. Lb was already problematic because of Coles age and Ryans inexperience but now its even worse. A lb is comming in, im quite certain of it.

Mourinho is doing good job. With Matic, Willian, Oscar and Ramires we will get immense workrate. This wins you titles. Hazard and hopefuly clinical striker will make this team world class. I only hoped we might get close to Bayern/Bvb team work, pressing and workrate. It came sooner than I expected, kudos to Mourinho.

Easier said than done though, but yeah that would be amazing. Keep Cole and Lukaku, sell/let go Essien, Ba, Etoo, Torres?, Marin, Moses, Bertrand?, Lamps? And please DONT sell Mata, Luiz and Courtois.

I would like to see him in Bvb as Gotze replacement but the rivalry between schalke and bvb will never make that happen...

And he relies on technical ability and tactical positioning, rather pace which means he will probably only get better under Mou and could play at top level even in mid 30s.

His determination to prove himself is amazing. Im sure we got quality player who can lift our midfied level higher. In nowdays market, price of 25mio is bargain aswell, considering Witsel, Martinez and Illara al went for 40m in summer time. Btw, why is such negativity and complaining on this forum when we got such good player? Enjoy as he will improve our team and laugh at other fans who cant believe he was 'only' 25mio. Just a long shot, but if all goes to plan; Matic becomes integral part of team and Mou creates good relationship, I think he will be our future captain as soon as Terry and Lamps retire. Its long shot, but he can be leader and seems to be good and mature character on and off the pitch.

If we bid 15mio and United/City bid 30, but Shaw tells board he only wants to join us (if he is such a big Chelsea fan), Soton will be forced to sell him sooner or later. We can also give them Bertrand/Pva in part of deal. Or we can just buy him now, but leave him on loan in Soton for another season (if Cole extends contract). Current situation in southampton also helps us, their board looks to fall apart and that could lead into relegation, meaning they will have to sell best players. It will be up to Shaw who will he choose to join.

He needs to learn speak english. Its now 1,5 year here and he still speaks with difficulty. Im not criticising him, but it is a process every player must go through when he joins new club from different country. It is extremely important for a playmaker to be able to communicate with team mates and he will have to improve his english in order to do that.

He adopted to us as soon as he put on a blue shirt, but didnt realy improved ever since. Consistancy is main problem, but I dont see why Jose doesnt teach him how to be better defender and more consistent. He motivated Terry brilliantly, why cant he do the same with Luiz. I hope he stays here for long time though.

Lol, do you know that Oscar oftenly drops very deep in most games, meaning that we change 4:2:3:1 to 4:3:3 on regular basis several times in every game? Maybe you got confused with CM who plays in double pivot and CM/CAM/AM who plays in 4:3:3. Lamps was AM back in the days when we played 4:3:3. Oscar's movement on pitch is very much similar to what AM in 4:3:3 does. He goes nearly to half of pitch to collect the ball and dictate tempo of team, Oscar does that and he also tracks back very often. He aint typical #10 in 4:2:3:1. I didnt say Oscar should be CM in double pivot; he never was and never played there at Chelsea either. I think we will be above Spurs, they had awesome midfield with Modric back then, but nowdays they lack creativity. City has better midfield, and sure all major teams like Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Bvb (when fit),...however we have best attacking midfield trio in PL already. And its not always about which midfield is better. That is not what wins you games. I think our team (with proper striker) works much better than most teams and that wins you game. We have been tacticaly awesome this year and Matic will only improve that. He can run all day and cover whole field and wont get tired.

Its fact, we have always looked for instant succes and its impossible to develop talents with such approach. Just fact that we only had Terry from academy all these years (and maybe we can include Lamps too since he was bought at young age and relatively unexperienced). Im sure our academy is good and so are youth coaches and scouts. We spot and create so many good talents, its quite ridiculous. But the transition from youth team to senior, from making a talent into good player; we are realy bad there. Perhaps the philosophy (buy buy buy), constant change of coaches and desire for instant success (Mr. Abramovich) are problem of that, not academy itself. What you and I are saying is correct, take a look how many players we developed and compare to Barca, United, Arsenal, Bayern, Bvb, even Real. They are miles ahead in developing youth players. No point of criticising such fact, its true no matter how painful it is to hear. However since summer 2012, we are heading into proper way, but it will take time to truly develop youth system.

Exactly, its like saying Fabregas before Arsenal and after it was same player. Obviously there is no comparison between Matic 3 years ago and now. We sold him for 2 mio because he was worth that much and now we bought him for 20 because he is worth that much. And I dont feel bad with this signing, club didnt put faith in him back then, but if we kept him, he would now be playing in Championship, instead he developed his skills greatly and it was infact good decision by the board. If you take a look at him as another player, he is fantastic and easily worth what we paid for him, especialy in this crazy market. Any other DM would cost same or even more. In no way, this is a bad deal. He will improve our team and thats all what matters.

If it is true that he loves the club and realy wants to prove himself here, we will get superb midfielder and amazing person who will always give 100% to the club. Dont want to say it too early, but Welcome back Matic :blue scalf:
