Maybe its just a placebo effect, but I do think he is tiny bit quicker in his reactions and loses the ball fewer times than before. There were some moments in pool game where he released the ball very quickly and either made good pass or got fouled. He also looks slimmer, doesnt he?

I think we can comfortably beat them, but once again Conte will go with save approach IMO. We are in position where safe draw is better than attacking them and risking a loss. Only way we can do them by 2 goals or more is if we score very early like vs United. Ever since we were in late stages of that 13 unbeaten run, we started to play much safer and slower. We took the lead and suddenly there was more at risk. Efficient and pragmatic, but we didnt realy fullfill potential, except against a few very very poor sides. Its always like that, you can play nice for awhile, but to keep that momentum its difficult. We had those few months under Mou aug-oct, and we had that run under Conte, but otherways very safe tactics, albeit efficient. While draw vs pool was ok, we could definately win them if we pressed them high and played quicker. Lot say we had brilliant defense, but then again we played with 9 men in defense all the time. While pool was attacking whole game; leaving defenders alone and yet it was 1:1. Tho, I realy hope we come with offensive, balanced and fluid football because I think Eden, Pedro and Costa are brilliant in those setups. I know this is how games are won, but for once, we are 9 points of the competition and we could relax for a game and try absolutely demolish them. We play Arsenal at Bridge, we lost 3:0 early in season and I bloody hope the players are fired up for tomorrow to tear them a new one. Leave the bunkers for other games, this game we need to go all out at them.

I agree we need another playmaker on this team. But I also think Eden will only fullfill his potential if he gets (wing)fullback in the mold of Alaba, Alba, Marcelo etc to play along. Alonso is good, very good actualy, but still far cry from Marcelo in attacking sense. To get best of Eden, we need 5:3:2 system, replace Matic with someone like Nainggolan, bring another playmaker and get two new wingbacks in mold of Marcelo/Alaba. And give Eden free role to roam around Diego in penalty box. But in that case we would lose wingers (my main reason I dislike 5:3:2 system), so wingbacks would need to be absolutely brilliant in attack and defense. If wingbacks aint good in defense, we lose balance and stability, if they aint good forward, we lose width, speed, skill and goals that Pedro and Eden currently give.And good luck finding such wingbacks. Or we can improve team as whole and bring someone like Nainggolan instead of Matic, better LWB and someone with similar quality/potential like Eden for RW. In both cases Conte has a very difficult job to do in summer.

Fam, saying word soccer aint cool. As for Lamps, enjoy your retirement. Greatest player to don the chelsea kit. Also one of main reasons I started supporting Chelsea, and one of my main reasons why I love this club. Been privilege to watch him all those years, he has been around my whole childhood and early adulthood, Im so happy I was able to see him in his best years.

I just hope the players will be pumped up for the game. Doesnt matter how and who pool plays, as long we put a good performance and determination to win the game. Should that be the case, Im fairly confident. If our players wont give a crap, then pool can get their B team and spank us because then we would deserve it.

We all complained how terrible he became, and slow. In every match thread there were dozen of posts he is getting awful and we were all left frustrated many times. BUT looking now and in years to come, we will remember only the best from him, how he scored 2 against Pool in CL and brought us to next round, how he scored the 4th goal vs Napoli in extra time, how he scored the winner against Benfica, and a bunch of other memories we will never forget. During his time here, he went from someone we almost sold to undisputed legend, someone who always gave everything, someone who in big games absolutely never gave up. And while he wasnt the most skilled of players, he was devastatingly efficient. Proper old school lad. The fact that he is serbian, gives me even bigger connection, because after all we were all brothers once. Its never easy to let these players who you watched for ages go, but the time has come. He is realy promising striker, but hell this would make zero sense. He is not major improvement over Bats atm and the player himself wont get a chance against in form Costa. Would be Bats all over again. And what happens with Bats then?

The problem wouldnt be Mane realy. Thing is if he is out, Klopp shuffles whole midfield and puts players in wrong places instead of simply replacing only Mane. No reliable rumours realy, but I think he deserves a topic. Currently he is becoming one of my favourite non chelsea players and at this rate, he will end up as one of top players. He is extremely allround, he can run alot, he tracks back, he can dribble, pass, cross, shot, he even has some goals from freekicks. His technique is incredible, but unlike many he is not jack of all trades, master of none. All of the above, he does absolutely brilliant, and he is only 21 years old. Tbh I realy dont care if United ends up with Griezmann if we can get Lemar. Probably my favourite player in ligue 1 since Eden, and whenever I watch him, he shows that same potential Eden did.
