  1. That man desires attention like a moody 14 year old girl. Remember when he did the same when Martinez was the target of a couple Prem clubs...he was essentially the media's #1 source because he would give play-by-play commentary of any possible negotiations and offers.
  2. The right idea, wrong execution. Compared to the rest of the page it's a bit dry. I'm still loving the update overall though, definitely. Hadn't seen that before...it's class. I had Inter's website in mind for comparison :lol2:
  3. Fair enough, I'm not going to completely discredit it, but I think both of our points are valid. But to get on topic... here's to hoping Rami can improve that ratio, because he can be pure magic on the ball (think recently: the dinky little run and pass he made to assist Torres against City). Without a standout big man like Drogba up front anymore, I'd presume that it really won't change this season
  4. I agree, Youtube videos are essentially glorified highlights, but how does that discount the skill and technique required to pull off what is exhibited? Surely you're not implying that Ramires' cross, or most successful crosses are a product of luck and not skill. I concede that using a video of exceptional moments isn't particularly indicative of a player's overall quality, but at the same time you can't possibly take the position that it shows absolutely nothing. I mean any great striker will miss as many or more shots than he makes. Compiling some goals, or just exhibiting one without the context of the game and his misses doesn't immediately discount the value/skill/difficulty of the particular play and sure as hell doesn't discount the efforts of the player.
  5. Couldn't have said it better. I guess the sluggish transfer reporting gives it a 'final word' type of effect. Like, a transfer isn't totally official until the CFC website has it's say lol. Agreed. I can honestly say the first reason I was intrigued enough to read/browse around the forum was TC's functionality and aesthetically pleasing design.
  6. Behold the beautiful new Chelseafc.com I've yet to see a more professional looking website from another football club. I know there are a few fellow web design geeks around, any thoughts lads?
  7. I know how you feel ...I lurked for most of last season but just had to join after the night we beat Napoli at home 4-1 to share all my excitement and enthusiasm.
  8. - I hate to see Mata laboring out on the wings, he just drifts out of the game... - Hazard on the is superb out on the left, he had a good balance of selfishness and team play out there - Honestly, I thought Sturridge showed some real fire out on the right That being said, I'd like to see a Hazard - Mata - Oscar attack in either the Wigan or Reading match. Could be sensational or could be flat
  9. Good to see him: 1. score first/take the lead when it mattered and 2. continue to push when service wasn't coming. Last year about half the goals he scored were when the game was already done and dusted, and when the service wasn't great he had a tendency to become nonexistent. He looked like there was a fire under his bum today, happy to see it.
  10. Nobody else excited about his goal today? Great piece of awareness and opportunism to turn it in after Pantilimon spilled it.
  11. For those of you who are superstitious, just remember what happened to the team that lost 3-2 in the CS (with 3 second half goals)
  12. Positives: with 11 men we had decent build up play and Torres scored. Negatives: no possession after we went down to 10, defense was afraid of closing players down, ref was having a wank
  13. Ref controlling the game with his cards... disgraceful
  14. Silva is, for the most part, the linchpin of City's front four. Nasri linking play isnt quite the same as Silva linking play *knock on wood*
  15. For those of you who think Ramires cant cross, give it a break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9OWZdkcnjs
  16. The header actually looked pretty tough, he was ahead of the near post and had to head behind the ball to steer it in. He did pretty well to direct it, the cross was just pretty high and Oscar's not really tall. Like someone said earlier, we bought him for his excellence in the midfield not his heading ability. From his history, he shows up in big games (hattrick in the u20 final), so lets hope he has a short memory for fuck ups and that he can succeed here.
  17. The West Brom forum reckons he will be a guaranteed striker. Damn, I really hope so. If he's is given some faith and real prem experience, it could be a huge season for him. But the 'Kakuta experience' is always a possibility.
  18. Without the six-pack accents, I think it looks damn good in action. The black/white badge is class Bir CFC, you beat me to it!
  19. Did anybody think the sleeves on the third kit looked way too long in the Brighton game?
  20. Any credibility to those sources? I'm excited to see them coming from a couple different (albeit dubious) places rather than just one [dubious] place.
  21. When they don't have 8 of their own players in the box, we score. Hmm I think some of these reactions are a bit unwarranted, you have to expect a slow game if they are going to park it
  22. He's definitely an old school striker: physically gifted, single-minded, has an energy rate that is an absolute nuisance for defenders, and most of all he's clinical/no-nonsense in front of goal. What I enjoy about watching him though is that for a big guy, he has impeccable control of the ball. He can take the ball from a difficult position and make it an easy position to make an accurate attempt on goal. Quality striker this lad, I'd love to see him here.
  23. Forbes' article on ManUre's IPO revisions http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2012/07/31/manchester-united-ipo-revised-to-make-glazer-family-wealthier/ Mmm don't you just love the smell of American-brand Coporatism
