  1. Exactly. He has no unique/individual skill or ability except positioning
  2. Lukaku assisted Terry's goal...made numerous chances with skills/creative play on the wings...honest chances at goal, mostly unlucky not to score one or two of em
  3. I wanted City to win...Man U would've won on the couple of wins that Ashley Young's penalties
  4. Sturridge misses a sitter... dangerous cross from Lukaku though
  5. Couldn't ask for much more from RDM as far as tactical balance with youngsters and first-teamers. Exciting game today, lads
  6. I agree that there are probably better options out there...but a I'll take a pacy, English winger with ball and finishing skills any day (for what seems to be his relative value)
  7. After the Liverpool result, why not? A one-off game for a select couple of youngsters surely won't upset their development (as some have suggested). Fitness for the UC final is the top priority anyway, right?
  8. I can't help but praise the service Torres got today. Each of his goals was a class finish on equally commendable build-up play. Excited to see what this could mean next year if we bring in some more playmakers/wingers (i.e. Marin)
  9. 12 in Chelsea career. 11 This season: 6 in PL, 2 in FA Cup, 3 in CL
  10. Excited to see him play in the Euros (if he is included in the squad)...big games, big pressure etc. Seems to me, as many have already said, that he is certainly in the same vein of players as Mata. Would love to see Mata and Marin as attacking midfielders with Sturridge in the center up front!
  11. nope. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2914/champions-league/2011/08/17/2623656/manchester-united-chelsea-and-tottenham-earnings-from-2010
  12. According to wikipedia, both Man Utd and Barca earned about 40m euros from the CL Final last season. Torres' goal sealed a repayment of about 80% of his transfer fee.
  13. I once heard a commentator say its the mark of a true champion to play poorly and win. I think Chelsea can take this victory as a sort of wake-up call for how we will have to play to beat Barca. ...that being said what a peach of a goal from Meireles
  14. Thanks for the warm welcome! Such a great community and an amazing fan resource here
  15. Agreed, I think Torres has the feet and the pace to fit into Danny's place in the formation we played today. Drogba comes in up front
