I didn't say that I trust a 35 year old to lead the line. I just said that with the current formation & the current players in our first team, Drogba is best suited to lead the line...whether or not he'll turn up is up to him. Furthermore, I agree with your point, I do hope that Chelsea undergoes a major squad overhaul this summer. We need depth in our squad, we need players that have the hunger, passion to succeed.
-
Exactly. Getting rid of Malouda, Bosingwa, Turnbull.. even Essien should be the top of our priority list. If Drogba agrees to stay another year (looks unlikely..he wants a 2 year deal), it won't hurt us thatt much. Unless Chelsea are planning on seriously shaking up our forward line and/or tactics, I don't see why Drogba should leave because I wouldn't trust Torres/Sturridge to lead the line with our current tactics.
-
Exactly. He tries..and he's not selfish like Malouda or Sturridge. He wants to help the team. Hope he starts against Blackburn.
-
Turnbull was always a shite keeper. We're better off giving Sam Walker the #3 goalkeeping spot.

Well according to league numbers: Hazard has 14 assists in the French league (according to http://www.ligue1.com/joueur/hazard-eden#bloc_passes ) Mata has 13 assists in the EPL (according to http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/assists/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=3436 )

Totally agree. We don't really need another high-profile striker at the club unless we are 100% sure that Drogba's leaving. We should be investing money into our midfield & possibly signing a decent striker who would be happy with a rotation role. I really do think that Sturridge's future is at CF...but I'm not sure if he can lead the line as the lone striker...he'd do well in a formation which supports 2 strikers upfront.

Lukaku was never going to be ready for the first team from day one of his EPL career. It's like people think he's 25 or something. He's still ONLY 18. The kid has plenty of talent & should easily become a top-class forward later on in his career.
-
Axel Witsel would be a good option for our midfield...but he only moved to Benfica last season, they won't sell him yet.
-
If Leverkusen wanna sell for around 15 million, for sure, sign him up. If not, look elsewhere...there are plenty of young talented wingers who would love to play EPL football. Is Victor Moses available?
-
Well Tiote is supposed to break up play, he is a DM...while Ramires is a high energy midfielder who can play well on either flank. I don't see the fuss about Tiote. If we want a CM/DM who is young, has leadership ability, has alot of potential...and we want to splash a bit of cash, we should be looking at M'Vila.
-
We don't need to sell any of our key players. However, we should look at getting rid of excess wages at the end of this season. By excess wages I mean Malouda, Bosingwa, Hilario, Essien for the right fee, Kalou for the right fee. Selling Ramires, what a joke.
-
He's highly rated in Russia. He's got a good skill set and from what i've seen, he should do well in the EPL. If we could sign him for 15 million, it'd be a pretty good deal.
-
We should think about signing Doumbia (striker) + Dzagoev (CAM/winger) from CSKA.
-
Can't wait to see him get sold. Would prefer to see him on the bench in Munich unless either Cahill or Luiz are seriously struggling with fitness.
-
What makes you think Capello will do anything great at Chelsea. He'll probably end up like Ancelotti in terms of his tactics not fitting in with Chelsea's players....and eventually Roman will have to pay a large fee after sacking him. We need stability at the club for at least the next 2-3 seasons. RDM may be inexperienced but it's not like Mourinho wants to come back to Chelsea...and there aren't really any top-class managers out there, after-all we are being linked to Laurent Blanc, Harry Redknapp and a few other average managers.
-
Simpson is mediocre at best. There are plenty of better players out there. We are better off giving Sam Hutchinson a proper chance at RB/CB.
-
None of the clubs that wanted Josh were that great to be honest. Bolton wanted him, but with relegation fears, i doubt Coyle would of risked playing him Wigan had an interest in him but Martinez's tactics and relegation fears, he would be on the bench. It was just a very poorly thought-out loan deal. The kid has the talent, just needs first team exposure & experience. If he's not part of our squad rotation plans next season, then we should loan him to a Championship side or any club that'll guarantee him some playing time.
-
As everyone says RB, RW, CM/DM, ST...and a quality manager if Roman doesn't trust RDM with the rebuilding process.

FA Cup Final - Liverpool vs Chelsea

Hope we beat them. That'll shut up the scum. -
Higuain might be the guy who scores goals against the lesser teams....but why would you spend 35 million on that type of striker? All we need is depth in our midfield, a quality right-winger & a decent striker who can get the job done up front.
-
Well if we do end up signing this kid, I hope he gets the chance to play in the first team. No point spending £14.5 to £16 million on a kid and then telling him to sit on the bench/play reserve team football. If we need a pure winger, we should be looking at Andre Ayew.
-
Well if we do manage to win BOTH cups, then RDM getting the job full time should be a certainty. If he doesn't get the job..and we end up with someone average like Laurent Blanc, then that'll be a disgrace. The only other manager capable of handling the Chelsea role is Jose Mourinho & he's already said that he wants to stay at least 1 more year at Madrid..
