Don't think Tiote is world-class. He's solid at his position. Would be awesome if we could persuade Diarra to come back to CFC.
-
Once we get a proper winger (Willian, Hoilett), Sturridge should be played as a CF. As for Torres, if the club can get 10 - 15 million, let him go and possibly re-invest the cash into signing a winger/playmaker.
-
We'll be better than Liverpool.
-
Not absolutely convincing but a hard-fought 1-0 win. Good for Drogba to score his 100th goal. Also: Liverpool lose, Spurs lose...and hopefully Newcastle can draw/win against Arsenal.
-
Witsel is definitely a talent but I don't think Benfica will let go of him this early into this contract. We have a pretty young core group of midfielders at Chelsea with the likes of Romeu, McEachran, Ramires, Mata. All we need is that midfielder in the 24-28 age group, someone that has developed, matured and is ready to help take control of our midfield. eg. Newcastle managed to get Cabaye on the cheap. There are plenty of decent quality midfielders out there who could easily do a job for Chelsea.
-
Don't think our midfield has the technique, composure to play like Bilbao did against United or the various other La Liga sides they've beaten this season. I'm guessing you're formation would look something like this: -----------------------Cech---------------------- -----------Cahill----Luiz-----JT/Romeu-------- Ivanovic--------------------------------------Bertrand/Cole -----------------Essien---Ramires-------------- ----------------------Mata------------------------- -------------Sturridge----DD/Torres------------

Is there any news about Courtois...cause i remember there were rumours that Atletico Madrid wanted him on-loan next season as well..
-
Who cares about anti football and real football, as long as the manager gets the results & tries to get the best out of his players, he's doing his job.
-
Fabio Borini was a big loss for CFC, probably one of the better young strikers out there. He even got his 1st cap for Italian national team thanks to his form at Roma. Would be good to see Robbie, Eddie and possibly Zola in charge of Chelsea.
-
Just hope we win the game. Don't really care if Torres starts or not, he doesn't look like he's gonna score anytime soon. Would be good to see Bertrand at LB, with Cole getting a rest before the Napoli match.

I think most of AvB's first-team signings are well known around Europe. The only relatively unknown player we signed was Romeu. In terms of scouting ability and man management, wouldn't mind having Moyes at Chelsea. He's always stuck to his budget at Everton, and he has generally pulled off good transfers under 15 million. Think his most expensive signing of recent times was Felliani about 4 years ago.

Even though it's highly unlikely, Jose might be Spurs boss at the start of next season.
-
He should of taken it because sometimes scoring a goal, seeing the ball go into the back of the net, instead of hitting the post/crossbar or missing the goal frame completely gives you that little bit of confidence for the next match. Who knows what the problem is with Torres, guess we can't sell him cause no club would be willing to sign him unless we offer him for 10 million. If only we put more faith in youths, we could of had a forward line of: Sturridge, Lukaku, Borini with Sinclair, Stoch on the wings. But as it stands, our forward line is: Torres (will he score again?), Drogba (leaving or staying?), Kalou (Average player, could of sold him for 10 million pre-2009), Sturridge (as he matures, he'll get better), Lukaku (from Anderlecht starter to CFC reserve)...and then there is the useless Malouda on the wings.
-
Pretty sure Jacopo Sala is playing for Hamburger SV in Germany...and as for Fabio Borini, he's done well for Roma, contributing a few goals already and now he's a full Italian international.
-
I think Josh will eventually become a top class midfielder but he needs ALOT of playing time. He might not be as good as Arsenal's Wilshere but he definitely has the ability to become an English international midfielder. Speaking of Chelsea's young midfielders...whats the news of Connor Clifford's development? He might be very raw but could be handy off the bench in a few seasons.
-
Deschamps, Jose or at a long-shot, Moyes. I doubt Guardiola would be foolish enough to join Chelsea.
-
Drogba should be gone at the end of this season. Doesn't look like Chelsea are gonna give him a 2 year contract...and his agent is looking for one last big pay-day...so maybe Russia, China, UAE..
-
Got some tough games coming up. City, then Spurs, then Villa who have done well against us. Bertrand put in a good shift, hope he gets a few more chances to impress at LB before the end of this season. Would of been interesting to see Lukaku at CF against Birmingham...he should be given the odd game, it's not like Torres & Drogba are playing well in that position.
-
Didn't Tiote sign a long-ass contract at NUFC which is meant to keep him there till 2017? Hence I don't see Newcastle letting go of Tiote on the cheap...(unless he wants to move on like Enrique or Barton)..I'd say we'd need to pay close to 15 million to get him. Maybe we should of kept Matic. He looks a useful player for Benfica, would of been a handy midfielder to have off the bench. What about Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghanian International playing for Udinese)? If we could get him for 20 - 25 million, he'd be a pretty solid option for our midfield.
-
Instead of Tiote, how about looking at Mulumbu (currently playing for West Bromwich Albion)....he seems like a good midfielder. As for the creative midfielder position, Mark Davies wouldn't be a bad option. We could get him on the cheap if Bolton get relegated (which looks a real possibility).

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
English Freak replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Agree with these points. AvB definitely is a hard worker but at his age, I don't believe he was anywhere near ready to take over the helm of Chelsea FC. He did well at FC Porto and credit to him, he built relationships with the talented youths, gave them confidence and his tactics fit the team really well. Who knows, had he decided to stay at Porto, maybe they could of shocked a few teams in the latter stages of the UCL this season! I'm not sure why Chelsea's manager, his staff & the higher management decided to keep the likes of Malouda, Kalou, Bosingwa, Mikel...because season by season, all of their respective values are on the decline. It would of been interesting to see players like Lalkovic (Wing, could add pace, trickery off the bench), Kakuta (Wing, he's raw but I feel he can be explosive once he gains confidence), Bertrand (LB, he could of played against some of the lower EPL sides, give Cole some rest for important fixtures), McEachran (Instead of persisting with Meireles, how about giving him 30-60 minutes) given a few starts this seasons...surely, they couldn't have done much worse in their respective positions. Hope we find the correct manager to lead us into the future. The only solid EPL-experienced manager who might be available is Moyes. -
Hiddink is the coach of Anzhi, he's not leaving anytime soon. Van Gaal stuffed up at Bayern Munich, why would Chelsea want him as manager? As for Jose Mourinho, why would he come back, he already knows his former star players from 2004-2006 are past it.
-
you're the one that sounds like a plastic. Defending Frank Lampard likes he's your lover or something along those lines. Lampard was part of the reason why AvB got the sack.
-
Think you mean: Cech Luiz --- Cahill --- Hutch -- Bertrand Essien---------Romeu Ramires --------Mata ---------Piazon Lukaku/Sturridge.
