  1. Anyone else glad that Moses missed? LAMPAAAAAAAAAARDDD
  2. remember Norwich? when the comeback never happened? i think Swansea will go on and win this
  3. true, but with giving rafa a contract, this negative atmosphere in the club will continue. this is supposed to be just a phase before things are cleared up in the summer. or so i am hoping
  4. Not Rafa. He has come in and done nothing radically different with our squad. it's like he's being strung along by emenalo and gourlay. plus, the fans love to hate him and that is never good. i just wish rafa gets us through unscathed this season and then have someone else come in
  5. Good deal for Liverpool if Sturridge can reproduce his Bolton and AVB form. he has the quality. it's just the application that matters
  6. i'd gladly have Mourinho take over our mess. Over Guardiola. Premiership experience trumps it for me. on a side note, if we miss out on both Mourinho and Guardiola? what then? we are well and truly screwed
  7. Yesterday there was talk about how Rafa was trying to free funds for January. if that is the case, i think we'll be signing cheaper options in midfield attack and a replacement for sturridge
  8. Ah. i am not sayin we should sign Jelavic. just bemoaning the fact that we have Torres.
  9. that was the point inspite of not scoring goals, he has the basic instinct to attack the ball. the winner against tottenham when he just ran past a static back four on the off-chance the ball came through. the ball did come through and he stabbed it home. torres goals are more like - stroll into the box and tap-in. the newcastle goal aside, he hasn't scored from a half-chance i think....
  10. if someone could re-upload the hasselbaink days, it would be much appreciated
  11. haha. no way we'd go for Jelavic. his instincts and poaching abilities are class but it's sadly not a big enough 'name' for Gourlay and Emenalo. on the other hand, they'd spend ridiculous amounts of money if shit players like Mario Gomez was available for a transfer
  12. ah.... finally. gonna watch a chelsea game(completely) for the first time since west ham away at the start of the month. worried about this though. dodgy form all month. sunderland win aside, there isn't a noteworthy performance to speak of. also Lampard- Ramires in the pivot against possibly 3 men in the Villa midfied. On the plus side, Hazard and Mata will have space to navigate tomorrow. Hope Fernando continues his mini-resurgence
  13. yeah but we might be able to support his wages for 6 months. good option if we get him on a 6 month loan in January. fresh option in attack. no money spent. good enough for top 4 finish. david villa maybe a tad old but he's still got his shooting boots on. could finish the chances created by our playmakers
  14. heheh. yeah. even our Blondie is Spanish. anyway, David Villa will be an EPIC short-term option for us.
  15. lewandowski has a contract only till 2014 and it doesn't look like he's renewing. this summer he's available. We need to get him. 15 mil should do it
  16. i think Jelavic is better than Torres. stats aside, how many times have we seen torres run at the defenders and lose the ball? how many times have we seen the playmakers put the ball in to see Torres fail to attack it? Jelavic is an instinctive striker who lurks on the shoulder of the defenders and ALWAYS attacks the ball when crossed. we need a better striker but i don't necessarily agree with those saying we need it in January. the summer , when we have a permanent manager, is the best time to rebuild the squad according to the manager's plans and not Gourlay's, Emenalo's or Roman's
  17. another point to add to that. fergie stations young/evra on the left and valencia/rafael on the right. all 4 (rafael - borderline) are brilliant crossers of the ball. united create late pressure by spreading the play wide and putting it into the box where one of the strikers stick it away. even we resort to long balls and set-piece pressure late on in a desperate attempt to put the ball in but we have next to nothing in terms of aerial power or presence upfront.
  18. older players. the next few signings should be in the 24-28 age bracket imo. players with PL experience wouldn't hurt.
  19. do you know what FFP even is? owner's money is quite immaterial. we need to break even without roman's backpocket Football clubs wishing to take part in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League must balance their football-related expenditure over a three-year period up to the 2014–15 season
  20. Take Cole, Terry and Lampard out and we haven't got much in terms of Premier ship experience. also, remember our start to the season? 1 loss to Clattenburg's ManUre and we never recovered. this side needs leaders on the pitch. enough with the under-23 revolution and go out and sign players in the 24-28 year old bracket
  21. not in January. not for 48million. as i've repeated myself several times in this thread, it is not economically plausible also, if we get falcao - no midfielder or replacement for sturridge because it would cost further more. i'd wait till the summer before thinking of Falcao or Cavani
