  1. Why do Chelsea fans have the impression that KDB is a right winger? Sure he's played there a few times and his crossing ability is good but this is just absurd. His best position is Central where his passing becomes an asset
  2. Ideally Reus. or di Maria or Lamela. Griezmann and Mollo have played some games in the right but I have no problems with Schurrle if the board have tried to get some of the wingers. I just hope that they have taken an informed decision and not jumped on the first player they thought of. If di Maria was available and goes to some other club in the window, I would be pissed
  3. There is also the very obvious positional problem with Schurrle. He's a Left winger and so is Hazard, who is a definite starter in the team. Schurrle hasn't played enough on the right and he will be basically learning the Right Wing position. Would have been better off signing a proper Right Winger in the first place
  4. Marca saying Suarez will go to Real? Thank you Real Madrid. For giving Jose for free and taking the biting cunt away from England
  5. yeah. this is true but think of this as the 'start' of negotiations rather than a roadblock in negotiations. I can see it going like this, Chelsea offer cash + Torres. Napoli want straight cash. Chelsea offer more cash+Torres. Napoli want straight cash. Then Chelsea offer even more cash + Torres - Rafa accepts Wankfest begins
  6. but Tancredi Palmeri has got many transfers/manager changes right before anyone else. Hopeful
  7. Tancredi Palmeri ‏@tancredipalmeriChelsea will bid 30m € + Torres for Cavani, according to Sky Italy 2 Birds 1 Stone!!
  8. MOST POPULAR XI Ivanovic was preferred to other CB options like Terry, Mangala, Varane by a clear margin. Likewise Kevin de Bruyne was the runaway choice for the AM position ahead of Schurrle and di Maria. Cavani beat Lewandowski 19-12 for the ST position. Torres and Ba meanwhile got a single mention each The choices for the CM position was varied and interesting and after a quick look-up, these are the crunched numbers Oscar - 19 Ramires - 15 Modric - 15 de Rossi - 14 -------------------- Mikel - 3 (Note - BluesMaster put a question mark next to Mikel)
  9. Oh you mean that way... Then yeah, it's absurd to see some teams without a proper DM. Also, some putting Ramires down as the DM? Strange
  10. blame it on footballformationuk. 4-2-3-1 has 2 CM's in it
  11. 25....errrr....Yes please If we upgrade on Ivanovic, I would keep Kalas at the club for cover at Right-Back. That way we can sign a specialist CB and get away with it
  12. Player of the season : RVP Young player of the season : Hazard Best transfer of the season : Lukaku Worst transfer of the season : Joe Allen Best managerial appointment of the season : Laudrup Worst managerial appointment of the season : Adkins Goal of the season : Lowton vs Stoke Overachieving team of the season : West Brom Underachieving club of the season : Newcastle Best match of the season : West Brom 5-5 Manchester United Best moment of the season : Frank Lampard - 203 Complaint of the season : Luis Suarez Premier League Specific
  13. One thing I've noticed in Ivanovic's games at RB is that he stays very narrow. Often touchline-hugging wingers have a good time with Ivan at RB. But I'm not for selling Ivanovic, no way. He is a better CB than Cahill definitely and more dependable than JT given JT's injury concerns.
  14. Spawned by tribalfootball? Complete BS then
  15. He had a good run at Centre Back. Average at Right Back.
  16. Mata at CAM is a double-edged sword. He is our best player. CAM is his best position but ironically, it poses a problem. His lack of leg-work in midfield is a big problem for the midfielders behind him. With a better pivot this should be no problem, but I'd like to see Mourinho take the bold step and take off Mata during the game when Chelsea are leading. Oscar or anyone else at CAM will be better defensively. When opponents start attacks from the back, Oscar will put much more pressure on the defenders than Mata and this will lead to long-balls/clearances or delay the attack. Back then, Mourinho used the more compact 4-3-3 where the midfield 3 would all put a shift in. Now I think 4-2-3-1 is the way we will go. Jose used this at Real as well. Mata in the hole behind the striker. His defensive contribution is next to nothing but he will be a definite starter no doubt. Jose will know that Mata had a great season and was Chelsea's best player
  17. He has one bad game in the final and the rest of the season becomes irrelevant. Nat had a very good season, initially as DM and then as the season progressed, he got forward a lot more. I wouldn't say any of his skills as a centre midfielder has reached peak level and I certainly don't think he's ready to be an out and out starter at Chelsea. Another loan is a logical option, maybe an aggressive one in the Premier League club like Hull, Sunderland, Villa where he can grow into a midfield role. This way, Chalobah can return next year with a full PL season under his belt and can compete with Essien(if not sold yet) and Mikel for the DM slot
  18. yeah okay. 1 title challenge since the 90's i hope Suarez being banned for 6 games at the start of the season fucks them over. Ideal Liverpool XI next season Al Habsi Johnson KoloToure Agger Enrique Allen Hendo Borini-------Coutinho di Santo Sturridge
  19. :D You might have come across this somewhere. Liverpool fans - atleast 80% - go into the season with title aspirations even 20-odd years after last competing for it
  20. doesn't take away from the fact that he's gone off to Monaco for reasons outside of football
  21. ^ What Shogun posted.. have the dates for the semi and the final been announced?
  22. Difference in quality. Cavani, di Maria etc will produce the goods faster than Lukaku, de Bruyne. They are already in their peak, so no question of 'developing' any skill. They'll cost a fair bit more and I would like to see the club incorporate some of the youngsters atleast as rotation option but they will go for instant success i feel.
  23. Would you sign 3-4 world class players and presumably challenge for the title next season or would you push de bruyne, lukaku and go through another transition season? Almost everyone would pick the former.
  24. Everyone points to his great record of escaping relegation but no-one notices that since 2009, he hasn't made any real progress in Wigan. A good end to the season cannot take away the average work done in the other 2/3rds of the year
  25. Yeah. And Juan Mata - unarguably our best player works best as a CAM, so 4-2-3-1 is here to stay.
