But what about Kane, Coquelin, Bellerin and heck even Joel Campbell? Those players didn't exactly shine during their loan spells elsewhere - unlike Bamford - and yet, they have become an integral part of their team after being given the chances and trust.
-
If Ivanovic continues to be our No.1 right back next season, then we might as well not play any right back at all.
-
You're so insistent in pointing out the failures just to say Bamford won't make it, aren't you? I think if you want, you can easily name those who have managed to do well. So, you're going to just deem Bamford not good enough in the Premier League when he hasn't even been tested at that level? Talk about jumping the gun.

Still doesn't make any sense of him wanting to go back to Barcelona.
-
Yes, Kane did earn the chance to show he is good enough but let's not forget at the start of last season, Pochettino was extremely reluctant to use him for whatever reason when Adebayor and Soldado were flopping big time for Spurs. It was only when things got desperate for them at Villa that he brought Kane on and he changed the game for them. Everything else that has happened since is history. If we are just going to judge youth players on face value without wanting to put in the commitment, trust and faith in them, then we might as well don't play them at all and close the academy (which we probably should since we are not doing any productive thing with them). But compare to some, Bamford has done well on his loans (with the exception of Palace). Even you can't deny that. And if doing well on loans doesn't earn a player some opportunities at the very least to show what he can do in the first team, then what must they do to get a chance?
-
But Bamford could turn out to be a success like Kane, couldn't he? You can't turn around and say Bamford is 100% failure and that's why we shouldn't give him opportunities to show what he can do, especially when he has generally done well during his loans. To be honest, I'm not even sure why some people are so averse to seeing Bamford getting chances in the first team. He's in our books and it's not like we have to go out and buy him from elsewhere.
-
They don't have a clue, do they? Pedro left Barcelona because he couldn't get consistent game time in the starting XI. Why would things be any different now if he were to go back there? If he's going to leave, it will be to somewhere he can play week in week out.
-
Sometimes, all a player need is the chance to prove himself (or herself). You only have to look at Harry Kane as an example. Didn't shine during his time out on loan and early in his Spurs career. But when he was given the chance to show what he can do around end of 2014, he took it and has never looked back since.

If the next manager isn't going to play a system that includes a No.10, then why bother keeping Oscar? Better off selling him immediately and if we have to, we can always use Hazard, Willian, Fabregas etc in that position.
-
True but is he capable of adapting to (slightly) different style? He had good players at Universidad de Chile and Chile to carry out his high energy pressing, attacking game. Do we have the right players for that? I don't think so. Having a great personality and clear vision is one thing but one must also understand and be able to adapt to different demands of football - like in the case of Sampaoli if he comes to Europe.
-
Eto'o was never going to be more than a short term solution. He did well but keeping him longer than one season would have been silly. He's past his best and there's a reason why Mourinho usually only played him in the home matches.
-
(1) Do we need to continue playing a system featuring a No.10? (2) I didn't say we have to get a No.10 who will perform miracle every time he plays - be it from the start or from the bench. We just need someone who is consistent and certainly more so than Oscar, who after 3 1/2 years here only seems to play well once in every 5 games or so. That's extremely poor standard for a big club like us.
-
Better off giving the lad a chance in the first team than wasting money on panic buys in this window.
-
This! This!! This!!!
-
Oscar cannot even perform consistently when he's playing week in week out. So, what makes you think he'll do that as a squad player? Keeping a player for depth is one thing but keeping one who is a deadwood is another.

There is that but most of the players named above are a bunch of loanees anyway and they aren't in the first team. They should be sold once and for all but I don't see why they should be higher on the 'Must Sell' list than Oscar, especially when he is likely to attract more and better interest from other big sides (c'mon Juve!).
-
Still defending Oscar...
-
Sampaoli has no experience of managing in Europe, has he? A big risk if we go for him. The last manager from South America we appointed turned out to be a disaster, let's not forget that.
-
Seriously? After 3 1/2 years of inconsistency, people are still defending Oscar? No wonder we are where we are right now. Too many inadequate players in the squad.
-
MK Dons away next. They defeated Northampton 3-0 in the third round replay.
-
So, they are going to pretend like the 6-7 years between Mourinho's first and second stints never happened? 2007/08 - Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea; Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal 2008/09 - Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal; Arsenal 1-4 Chelsea 2009/10 - Arsenal 0-3 Chelsea; Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal 2010/11 - Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal; Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea 2011/12 - Chelsea 3-5 Arsenal; Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea 2012/13 - Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea; Chelsea 2-1 Arsenal Faced them 12 times without Mourinho and managed to win 7 games compared to their 4 and Hiddink handed them their heaviest loss at the Emirates Stadium with that 4-1 win. If we lose this Sunday, it will not be because they no longer have an inferiority complex against us. It will be because we're absolutely piss poor right now.
-
Swansea beat Watford. We're only 4 points and 4 places above the drop zone now. Could be down to 1 point and 2 places by the time we kick off at Arsenal on Sunday. Oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear.
-
At least Juventus are doing a better job than us in defending their title after a poor start to the season.
