  1. Saw someone mention Dave Franco...
  2. Oscar's long lost brother...
  3. http://www.nj.com/redbulls/index.ssf/2014/08/livin_the_dream_from_home_local_kid_matt_miazga_making_mark_with_red_bulls.html Came across that article about Miazga and his personal life and while the piece didn't reveal too much, it does seem like he has a strong, positive attitude in whatever he does. If true, that's good and the question then would be whether he can adapt to the demands of the Premier League and European football.

  5. Zoumazga? Get Styles outta here!
  6. Deal confirmed. Discuss everything else in here -

  8. Laughable indeed. It's like impostors have taken over the club and the original fellas have been kidnapped and thrown onto a deserted island. So many baffling decisions and moments in one year. The only positive thing I would say about the Pato and Miazga deals is that (1) we got the former on loan and (2) we're getting the latter with a 'low risk, high reward' thinking in mind. Have nothing much to lose there especially when we cannot buy anyone better in January. However, if we continue this trend in the summer, then hell is going to break loose.
  9. C'mon mate, that's just desperate thinking. What's the point of playing attacking football when you're leaking goals from all directions and getting found out tactically when it comes to the crunch matches? You can't say it's okay to have a leaky defence as long as the team is thrashing teams consistently because quite frankly, that's impossible to do. Sure, we might beat a few teams by a few goals but that usually only happens against the really bad ones. Come up against any decent side (and there are a lot of them in the Premier League) and you'll find that having a strong, competent defence is as important as having a strong, competent offence. And Pellegrini might have 2 league titles by the end of 2015/16 season but can we say that his playing style, his management approach were highly successful? City arguably have the strongest squad in England for some time now and yet, they are not dominating the league in manner that we did under Mourinho, United under Fergie or even Arsenal under Wenger (pre-2005 anyway). They won the title two seasons ago because of us and Crystal Palace but they're probably going to win this time again because the other teams are rubbish.
  10. Not excited about the idea of Conte or Allegri taking over but they are more than capable of adapting to English football and I would rather take a manager who is tactically good than someone who is clueless like Pellegrini.
  11. Hiddink on Pato... http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-press-conference-live-alexandre-10807724 A journalist compared Pato to Romario and Hiddink said...

  14. Do people actually take The Secret Footballer aka Dave Kitson seriously?
  15. Now you're just clutching at straws. 45 starts in 64 matches shouldn't be overlooked and that amount is impressive especially when you consider Zouma was only 18-20 years old then. Miazga wasn't even starting consistently for NY Red Bulls till 2015, when he was 20. Really? The competition in Ligue 1 might be weak but it still has better infrastructure, setup, managers and most certainly players. So many times over the years clubs have raided Ligue 1 for players and many of them have turned out to be good. How many clubs in the major leagues around Europe have actually bought players from the MLS? That's nonsense. If we are spending 12m on Miazga, people would be raging at the club, not feeling hyped about the player.
  16. Ligue 1 might not be the best league in the world but it's still better than the MLS. Wrong. Zouma was a starter for St Etinne before joining us - http://www.transfermarkt.com/kurt-zouma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/157509/plus/0?saison=&verein=618&liga=&wettbewerb=FR1&pos=&trainer_id= Made a total of 64 Ligue 1 appearances in 3 seasons, with plenty of them from the start.
  17. Since when you have become so narcissistic, Tomo?
  18. Where I have said Stones is worth 40m? I think people are putting too much thought into the 40m price that is quoted. Sure, it is a lot and it is ridiculous but part of the reason why the price is so high is because of the long term contract he has with Everton. If he only has 1-2 years left on it, the price wouldn't be so high. I don't deny that Stones has been making lots of defensive mistakes and has been taking the piss with the overplaying from the back of late but people really forget that he is only 21 years old, he's still very young, meaning there's still plenty of time to improve his game and change his game. It probably doesn't help his cause when Everton have a manager who doesn't give much thought on the defensive side of the game. You don't have to make it sound as though Stones is already a lost cause and is just another Luiz.
  19. Yes admittedly, he has been poor and must do better but it doesn't help that we are not using his quality to its potential. In the glimpses that we have seen so far, we saw what we can do. But unfortunately, we're trying to turn him into a different kind of player.
  20. The moment we get players similar to those two as opposed to getting players who are of different types and trying to turn them into Hazard/Willian 2.0.
  21. Probably not but then again, he would probably have some sort ridiculous release clause in his contract, which would amount to a big fee as well. The point here, anyway, is more about people questioning his quality as opposed to his fee.
  22. I wonder, if Stones wasn't English, would people say he's overrated?
  23. On top of that, he's only 21 years old. He was always going to make mistakes and he's still young. There's room and time for improvement. We've already seen he's got potential to be great and I think it would help him if he actually has a manager who knows how to drill the defensive mindset into him (and the entire team really). But unfortunately, he and Everton have a manager who doesn't care much about defending.
