13 goals scored in last 6 league games, compared to 13 goals in 13 games prior to that.

Worse or not, the issue still remains. We played Scunthorpe, West Brom and Everton this past week and each of them repeatedly bypassed our midfield like it wasn't even there and found so much time and space to exploit between the lines. They didn't exactly have the qualities to exploit but give that to Arsenal, they will punish us. Well like you said, those were in 'recent years'. Our form (ignore the guide) and squad we have now is arguably the worst in years. No more guarantees that we will get a result against Arsenal. That won't save us every time.

I don't see how that's impossible if our defensive shape continues to be as poor as it has been in the last few games.

José Mourinho left in managerial no man’s land with no clear way out
-
He's on punditry duty today for PLTV...along with Michael Owen.
-
He should learn a thing or two from Tony Pulis.
-
It's Oscar and you're talking to Gilvorak about him. You should know better.
-
Could help himself by simplifying his game though - e.g stop over-dribbling with the ball (because that isn't his strength), stop doing those fancy step-overs, pass and move the ball quicker (some times, he holds for a tad too long). Keep It Simple.

As long as you don't go overboard with telling your defenders to play out from the back - like Martinez does - then I think you can drill into your players - especially young players since they are still developing - on what to do in different situations.
-
Think you can have a bit of both. I probably prefer to have a ball playing CB too but if there's any danger nearby, the first rule for the defender is to clear it. If you have time and space to play the ball, then do it. If not, then don't. Clear it or knock it long if you have to.

Shoutout to Courtois for making that huge 1-v-1 save against Mirallas.
-
Hardly a surprise. He didn't even have the balls to admit that the referee made a mistake in not giving City a stonewall penalty for that Stones challenge on Sterling.
-
Maybe you're right but relying only on fight back spirit won't get us far. Our quality of play still leaves a lot to be desired and in the case of today, why did we only start playing after going 2-0 down? Where was that desire, urgency and intensity before that? And not to mention, we undid all the good work in fighting back to make it 2-2 with that defensive debacle for their third. Terry's goal could have been the winner, instead of an equalizer.
-
Same thing happened to them at Bournemouth. Scored in injury time to make 3-2, over-celebrated, referee added more time, Bournemouth equalized. (funnily enough, they were also 2-0 up in that game before being pegged back to 2-2 and that late drama)

Costa is injured. So, #WelcomePato.

Is Fabregas doing a reverse now? Seems to be turning up for the second half of the season!
-
Martinez is a hypocrite to complain about Terry's offside goal after Everton got away with that Stones challenge on Sterling in midweek.
-
It will be a shock if the FA punishes him really. But his reaction is indeed funny though. We've been pissing him off since 2010/11 season. 2010/11 - Chelsea 1-0 Wigan - Martinez moaned about Torres' foul on their goalie in buildup to Malouda's goal 2011/12 - Chelsea 2-1 Wigan - He moaned about our offside goals (fair enough) 2013/14 - Chelsea 1-0 Everton - He moaned about Ramires diving to win a free kick that lead to the goal 2014/15 - Chelsea 1-0 Everton - He moaned about us influencing the referee And then today...
-
To be fair, I'm not sure there's another Luiz out there. Stones can definitely do better - he's still young after all - but he's not that error prone like Luiz. And Mourinho's teams tend to have a centre back who can play out from the back anyway.
-
We have improved a lot under Hiddink? I know we are still unbeaten under him but let's not exaggerate things here. Apart from the Crystal Palace match, we're still seeing the performances that we saw under Mourinho - dull, insipid, uninspiring football.
