What Hiddink is doing with Costa now is what Mourinho should have done with him - tell him to focus on his game, use his strengths to cause damage and score goals...NOT asking Costa to fight with every player out there and look to get them sent off. Could probably still have his job here had he done that.

C'mon now, there's no need to say our win was down to Arsenal going down to 10 men. Yes, the sending off helped but even before that, we looked the better side and were actually creating chances. Better finishing and perhaps luck, we would have won this game more comfortably. Arsenal hardly created anything - their only chances came from Flamini and that crazy goalmouth scramble in the second half. Otherwise, nothing much elsewhere.

That Koscielny push on Fabregas in the penalty area - How he did not give us a spot kick for that is beyond me. It was such a blatant penalty and to make matter worse, a minute after that incident, Matic committed the same offence and he gave Arsenal a free kick and booked him for that!

Considering our shit form and that we're away at Arsenal, I don't necessarily blame Hiddink for taking the safety first approach.

Doesn't matter IMO. They might work for different media outlets but ultimately, they work in the same industry, doing the same things and covering similar/same stories every week. Pretty sure most - if not all - of the journalists know one another, thinking they all do honest reporting every time (when they don't) and RTing stories done by their colleague as if they're all true (when they're probably not).

Don't get why people think we made a mistake in not signing Austin (mainly saying this based on the reaction I've seen elsewhere). Yes, we need goalscorers but we also need someone who is capable of challenging Costa for that No.1 spot. We don't need someone who will be just there to add depth or provide cover. Already have that in Remy and it makes no sense to add another player with similar role in the squad. On top of that, while Austin is a decent player who guarantees goals, the same few fellas who complain about us not signing him would probably be the same ones who moan about us having a squad filled with average players down the line.

I would prefer to give them a chance or two to show what they can do before passing judgment. Otherwise, we'll find ourselves 2-3 years ago moaning about our treatment and decision to sell Player X, Y, Z, like what's going on with De Bruyne or Lukaku right now.

Praising/Criticizing players' performance is fine but going with the whole 'Player X IN/OUT' mentality based on performances is silly. It was only weeks ago that people called Fabregas a 'Rat'. Now? He's Fabregas with the magic hat again.
