We have youth players who have potential but look what we are doing with them? Nothing. What's to say things won't be different with Miazga? This signing has similarity to the other players mentioned because they won't be here for long and they are nothing more than aimless/pointless signings done by the club.

That's probably one of things that's pissing many people off. We seem more interested in gaining profit than actually strengthening the first team with quality players. Our squad depth and quality right now is absolute joke especially for a big club that wants to stay at the top, be better and win more trophies.
-
What's the point of that when we probably won't even be using him? He'll be lucky if he doesn't end up at Vitesse (or somewhere else) next season.
-
It reminds of the time when we bought Marin as an insurance policy before winning the Champions League.

Djilobodji, Falcao, Hector, Pato, Miazga. We're settling for mediocrity now, aren't we? Somebody seriously needs to be sacked from the board.

If true, then I supposed one can understand his concern but if he's really good or at least target to be good, then he should look to do better and aim to win back his place in the starting XI. On the other hand, is every player like going to quit a club because of concerns over starting position for their national side for a major tournament? I understand players are frustrated over lack of playing time but it seems so short sighted for them wanting to leave because of one tournament.

That's an ignorant thing to say to be honest especially when you look at how inconsistent the other teams - Man City, Arsenal, Man United etc - are in getting results. We played great football and got results in the first half of last season but when we couldn't sustain the level of performance, Mourinho ensured we were still good enough in picking up results every week. The others couldn't manage that and still can't this time around. If picking up consistent results last season was not down to Mourinho's management, then I don't what is it down to.

Shouldn't forget about Costa's injury record either. Seems to be suffering one after every few games.
-
Considering all the others strikers - such as the ones mentioned by Tomo above - aren't available, can you name a better option though? It's not like Cavani is terrible and he still has a good goal scoring record.
-
Cavani? Doesn't seem like he'll stay at PSG for much longer.
-
If United are going to sack Van Gaal or he wants to leave, can they/he do it after February 7?
-
But we'll one less player in the squad. That's the point.
-
Surely we are going to buy a replacement if we sell Ramires in this window? Would be crazy if we don't. Our squad depth is already weak and limited as it is.

We're not assuming things, Barbara. We're only saying things based on what we see on the pitch. Yes, Costa has always been an emotional guy but the difference between the Costa we saw under Mourinho and the Costa we're seeing now under Hiddink is clear for everyone to see. He is focusing on what every striker should be doing out there week in week out which is to wreak havoc in the opposition's defence and score goals and he also appears to be a lot calmer these days. Sure, there's still a few moments where he argues with the referee or opposition players but he has not been anywhere near as combustible as the Costa we saw in the first half of the season - there was practically a danger of him getting sent off every time. He's arguably at his most calmest in a Chelsea shirt right now and as Stats rightly pointed out above, he's refrained himself from getting into fights, even when others are trying to rile him up. We didn't see that under Mourinho and for one reason or another - be it Mourinho telling Costa to rile up opponents (which I wouldn't put it past him considering the former's confrontational nature and/or his insistence that there's a campaign against Chelsea) or not man managing Costa - he certainly didn't help the his own cause, the player's cause and ultimately the team's cause.
-
But there were still decent players around that he could have signed but didn't, especially after finding their feet in their first two Premier League seasons. Don't think it's as simple as that. Mourinho has had big budgets to work with throughout his career but he has hardly been adventurous, has he? And you only have to look at David Moyes for instance. Worked well with a small budget at Everton but became clueless when he had lots of money to spend at United. His style of play at OT was dull to watch as well.
-
-
Yes but even then, Pulis could still have gotten some good players with that money and changed his style but he didn't. You only have to look at Stoke now under Mark Hughes - their transfer budget isn't big but yet, they spent on some good players and their style of play has evolved.
-
Pulis spent quite a lot at Stoke some years ago and he didn't change his style of play one bit.

Two stats/facts: 1. Chelsea have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 Premier League away games. 2. Chelsea's last 5 goals at the Emirates Stadium in all competitions have been scored by Spanish players - Torres, Mata (twice), Azpilicueta, Costa. 3. Chelsea have won 2 Premier League games in a month for the first time this season.
-
True and I doubt Klopp would rotate much this time around especially in the FA Cup since they'll be facing West Ham (that is assuming he intends to take that competition seriously).
-
Just like with Martinez, it's always nice to piss Wenger off. They just can't handle us and they are always so bitter.
-
Leicester's next 3 games are horrendous - Liverpool (H), Man City (A) and Arsenal (A). If they can get 4-5 points out of those matches, then they would have done well. After that, they don't play any of the so called bigger sides until the third last game when they go to United.
-
Would be so typical of us if we went and screwed this up.
-
Is he doing a reverse of what he has been accused before? Usually turns up for the first half of the season before going missing in the second. Now, it seems to be the other way round. Anyway, he's looking imperious of late and hope that continues!
