  1. If you put it that way, then yeah we probably can't do much if Fabregas wants to leave but if that's not the case, then I don't think we should sell him.
  2. He's not strictly a bench player like say Batshuayi, is he? He's been used quite a bit as a starter and substitute and think Conte has balanced that quite well.
  3. Indeed. If you look at Boro's results against the top 6 this season, they have generally managed to keep the scores pretty tight.
  4. Even if we do get another playmaker, I don't think we should sell Fabregas. Can't go wrong with having 2 in the team, especially when we'll be playing more games and rotating more next season.
  5. You're seriously making @Pizy and me look rather optimistic.
  6. What's the point Pochettino has them play well and build a side with little weaknesses if he doesn't lead them to trophies? I don't disagree that Spurs lack that X-factor player but at the same time, that winning mentality is equally vital as well. It's a bit like when we went from nearly men under Ranieri to serial winners under Mourinho.
  7. The title was definitely ours to lose but Spurs had the slimmest of chances to win it, however realistic that was. They were in the title race. Yesterday was their big moment, their opportunity to ramp up the pressure and everyone was expecting them to beat West Ham but they failed. Even if they didn't bottle the league for you, can you really argue they didn't bottle under pressure? They did well to win 9 games in a row but in some ways, they did that without much spotlight on them as most of it was on us. Yesterday was the first time it's on them in the run-in, to cut the gap to 1 point and they blew it. I guess I\if this season has told us anything about Spurs, it's that they still don't do very well when the pressure is actually on - they screwed up in the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup semi-final and then at West Ham. I take your point about them being inexperienced but at some point, they're going have to make that final step to win something, don't they? Yet for their all progress, for getting far into competitions, they don't seem to have learned anything from it. And you gotta wonder if Pochettino is the right manager to instill that winning mentality.
  8. Kinda disagree with that TBH. Spurs didn't throw the title away (because they never led the league) but do think they bottled it. They may have won 9 straight games before yesterday but in how many of those games were the spotlight really on them? We would likely win the title in the end anyway but it was crunch time yesterday. Many were expecting them to beat West Ham and it was a huge opportunity to put some serious pressure on us, to cut down that gap to 1 point but instead, they cracked under it. It's similar to the FA Cup semi-final last month. Big spotlight on them, a lot of people were predicting them to deal a psychological blow to us but they didn't produce the goods on that day to win it.
  9. That assist count gets more impressive when you look deeper into it. He's played only 1047 minutes in the Premier League this season and only 3 players have more assists than him. All 3 played significantly more than he has as well - De Bruyne (13 assists - 2533 minutes), Eriksen (12 assists - 2987 mins), Sigurdsson (12 assists - 3059 mins).
  10. Only 6 points needed to win the title. Surely, we'll get 3 of the 6 on Monday? Don't mess this up, Chelsea!
  11. There's also important goals against Man United, Swansea, Wolves and Burnley too.
  12. Alan Pardew on MNF said Alonso's inexperienced and has surprised as a LWB.
  13. Likely because Ake can play in 2 positions of the back 3 as opposed to Zouma, who is only used when Azpi isn't playing at RCB.
  14. Careful now, Alex. If you convey any more constructive thoughts negativity, you'll be called out for having no balls or worse...
  15. Mentioned the same thing yesterday. We celebrated wildly after that big win at Stoke in March and things went south against Palace. That said, after what happened with Palace and then at United, I don't think Conte and the players will get too carried away especially as they'll likely be on their toes if Spurs do win on Friday.
  16. Would have liked to Ake play more this season but think his recall has been justified to some extent. Has come in handy whenever we need someone to fill in a specific position in the back 3.
  17. Monday night game. Ugh. Gap likely down to 1 point come then. Double ugh.

  19. Decent performance, excellent win and a clean sheet to boot! Should have enough to win the title from here regardless of what Spurs do. And oh, we have secured a spot in next season's Champions League.
  20. Beat Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool. Drew/Lost against Southampton, Leicester, Spurs, Burnley. Nice going from Palace!
