How on earth we get linked with all the obvious big name strikers out there and some other random ones but not Lewandowski?! Are the club really that blind when looking for transfer targets?! Lewandowski is a quality striker that won't even cost a fortune! As for this Man United-Lewandowski, Klopp has said he won't be going anywhere and will be staying with Dortmund(till next summer at least). Also, I can't imagine Dortmund being a fool and sell Lewandowski for just £12million, the price that was mentioned. And speaking of being a fool, Lewandowski will be an idiot if he really joins United when they already have 4 strikers. Won't be starting every game that's for sure.

Like I said, why not just change it and see what happens? Can't do any worse than we did then in midfield.

Unfortunately once they changed their midfield around and got their act together in the 2nd half, we hardly looked comfortable then.

Even then, it will give us a better chance to match them in midfield rather than 3 v 2. 4-2-3-1 then wasn't even working then. Why not change things around and see what happens?! Silly to just dismiss that we couldn't do anything to stem West Ham's attacks.

Nightmare but not impossible to deal with. We didn't do enough to prevent crosses from coming in and hardly track the runners from midfield.

Bring Romeu on and change to a 4-3-3? Midfield was overran in that second half and Mikel and Ramires was struggling badly. As soon as West Ham got the ball, their midfield just broke forward knowing well that whoever was in CAM(Mata or Hazard) won't track back and they had us outnumbered in the central area.

Tactically outwit Benitez or not, the fact remains that Allardyce realized the problems with his team, fixed it at HT especially with those 2 changes and completely overran us in the second half. Benitez did not react and hardly changed anything to stem the flow of West Ham's attacks. Players did not perform then but Benitez was certainly at fault too.

This is really the time for the rest of them to step up and be counted. Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, those senior players that have been here for awhile now. Said this before, no doubt that Terry and Lampard are important to us in terms of their leadership but if we are desparately relying on them to improve, then I fear for our future. Think we all discussed this in the 'Who's Our Next Captain?' thread before. Apart from Terry and Lampard, one can hardly pick out a really great leader for the team. There's not one who is vocal, possess a strong character, authoritative when needed etc. No one really stands out from the squad.

All that we now can hope for is the players respond in the right manner and prove Benitez wrong when he said the team lack characters. If not...

Fergie never said specifically that Mourinho will be a good replacement for him at United. He just said he can manage anywhere in this world. We all obviously know Mourinho can do that but really, the media just twisted Fergie's words to suit their agenda.

He has already achieved his aim of winning league titles in England, Italy and Spain and is desperately wanting to return to England and I believe he will stay here for a long period. The only other job he wants is the Portugal NT position but at his age now, he isn't going to take it yet and prefers to do it when he's older.
