Yeah...sack Benitez and then appoint who? Avram Grant? He is probably next in line. Like it or not, Benitez is the best of the bad bunch of available managers out there at the moment.
Doubt that the club is even thinking of getting Lewandowski. The club seem to have this obsession of getting the obvious big name strikers almost every time. With the way we seem to be doing things, we'll probably go bid 50m for Lewandowski in 3-4 years time.
Hence why I said before that this is where one would appreciate the team built and created by Mourinho last time. Whenever we want to play football, we can do that. Whenever we need to be physical against the opposition, we also can do that. Adaptable and versatile then. Now, we're like Arsenal. Wants to play tiki-taka football but crack immediately when facing opposition with a physical approach!
So, both Puyol(34) and Xavi(32) have had their contract extended at Barcelona till 2016 while the club is still stalling over Cole's. Utterly ridiculous and disgraceful!
Err, did Oscar, Hazard and even Mata fully realize their potential when we bought them? No. IF we are gonna get Pjanic, I have no problem whatsoever with the price that is being mentioned considering we paid much more for the 3 players mentioned above.
According to the news on Sky Sports... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11854/8341655/Roma-midfielder-Miralem-Pjanic-plays-down-reports-linking-him-with-Chelsea
1. Second leg semi final against Barcelona in 2009. 2. Losing the penalty shootout in Moscow. 3. RDM sacked and Benitez being appointed. 4. Mourinho leaving the club. 5. Losing to Liverpool at home. 6. Getting thrashed 3-0 hopelessly at Old Trafford under Scolari. 7. Torres. 8. Losing 5-3 to Arsenal at home.
Yes, the flight was delayed. Instead of returning to England immediately after the CWC, they departed Japan on Monday at 11am. With the difference in time zone and all(9 hours difference between UK & Japan), they arrived back in England yesterday in the afternoon.
Errr, does he know the League Cup tie rules or did he even watch the Bradford v Arsenal tie last week? There are no replays in League Cup ties, only in FA Cup!
Milan? Are they even being linked with Pjanic?! The most speculation I've seen regarding Pjanic is that AVB is keen to get him. Other than that, there have previously just been minor reports that Real Madrid, Arsenal and think City are interested in him.
The playacting by Corinthians was despicable to say the least. It's probably even worse than Barcelona. They dived at almost every opportunity and then of course, rolling on the ground non-stop. Utterly disgraceful!
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/evertons-marouane-fellaini-sweating-on-nine-match-1493517 According to reports, Fellaini could be handed a 9-match ban for 3 separate clashes with Shawcross. A 9-match ban!!
That is a rather obvious thing to say after losing yesterday... Think that might be a tad too optimistic. Don't think he's gonna get sacked (yet) even if we lose to Leeds.
And besides, players make the formation work, not the other way around. We have the players to play the 4-2-3-1 now. It's just a matter of picking the right ones and putting the right application onto the pitch.
As much as I would love to see him join us, I can't see us purchasing him when we already have De Bruyne, McEachran, Mata, Oscar and Hazard. Buying Pjanic would then mean we will have too many players of similar qualities.
Oscar and Lampard in the pivot? Oh, that is gonna end well. I would rather play a proper DM in Saville in the starting lineup. Would at least be a useful experience for him.
Worth remembering that Mikel, Ramires and Cahill are all suspended. Romeu and possibly Terry as well as Sturridge are still injured. That would mean Luiz is likely to partner Ivanovic at CB with Lampard playing in the pivot alongside...erm...someone.
