  1. Well, I just hope it has nothing to do with us. We have got enough of problems to contend with already. Don't need to add more into the list.
  2. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/8471024/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Sky Sports have reported the news too. It's just a minor injury. Surely he won't be out for too long right, right???
  3. Think Mirror(IIRC) reported that we are ready to offer him a new 5-year deal back in December but have heard/read nothing about it since then.
  4. They should be available already by the time we face Sparta Prague next Thursday. After this weekend, we'll have 3 games to play before facing City at the Etihad.
  5. Yes, Essien played in DM before but then, he has the likes of Lampard, Ballack or someone playing in front of him to connect the midfield and attack. Playing Ramires alone in that midfield would mean we have to rely on our wide players to initiate attacks and we will be overrun in that midfield with only Ramires playing in there. Either play the narrow diamond midfield or don't bother playing it at all. Yes, I agree with you but the problem is we don't have many options now to really be changing things around. And even then, had our players done their job properly and see out games, we wouldn't be sitting down here talking about changing formations etc.
  6. We already have problems controlling the midfield with Ramires and Lampard in the pivot and now you're suggesting us to play Ramires alone in that midfield?! As I said before, it's not about the formation here, it's about the application of players. Most of the goals we conceded in recent times have been down to mistakes from players, nothing to do with the formation whatsoever.
  7. Have signed for Stoke. Gone back to Birmingham on loan for the rest of the season. Lock. lock.
  8. I'm sure IF he comes here, Cahill will give him 'rightful' welcome to the club!
  9. Oh gawd! Please let this be true!! Please please please!!
  10. Hazard to play as a LCM?? Oh that is gonna work out well...
  11. We are in that period again desperately hoping for the other teams to drop points because of our own failure. Has happened too often in recent times!
  12. Oh goody. Spurs won against West Brom. Only 1 point ahead of them now. 4pts and 5pts clear of Everton and Arsenal respectively.
  13. They might have been wins but those 1 goal margin wins showed it's tough to play against Wigan and given our current form now, you have to worry if we can even by 1 goal. Rather than those good old those of scoring us and shutting up shop, I miss those days when our team was defensively sound to keep teams out. Now, we are just a bunch of softies.
  14. Barring that 8-0 thrashing of Wigan under Ancelotti, our home Premier League games against Wigan have often been tight. 05/06: 1-0 win 06/07: 4-0 win 07/08: 1-1 draw 08/09: 2-1 win 09/10: 8-0 win 10/11: 1-0 win 11/12: 2-1 win 4 of those 6 wins have been 1 goal margin.
  15. For Coloccini's challenge, not IMO. Yes his boots were pretty high but his intention there was always trying to clear the ball and prevent Ba from scoring. It was just an unfortunate accident. And besides, after all the negative headlines we have had in recent times, it would probably be best not to trying blowing this out of proportion. As for Cisse's clash with Cole, the club didn't do anything and nothing was said when Toure kicked and slapped Mata last season. Don't expect anything different here.

  17. Drogba did the same to setup Kalou for the opening goal when we thrashed Stoke 7-0 in the 09/10 season.

  20. I know Newcastle squandered many chances to score in this game but if only Lampard had converted the chance created by Cole in the 1st half and then scored with the header from 8 yards out, this would have been so different! We had defensive problems in the game but once again, our profligacy cost us.
  21. Don't tell me after all these years of being a fan and owning this club, Roman can't even decide things for himself!
  22. Hartlepool beat Notts County 2-1 in League 1 today. Both of their goalscorer? Peter Hartley and James Poole..
  23. That's because we have ran out of options, all thanks to Roman's impatient attitude.
  24. Our next league away game is against Manchester City...
