Not exactly convinced with the purchase of Schurrle because it's our RW that needs fixing and not the LW but it does look like we are getting him. We definitely need a top notch striker and hoping that it will be Lewandowski because he will fit in like a glove with the players here. And we would also need 1 midfielder, preferably a deep lying playmaker. Want us to go get Cabaye and doubt Newcastle will put a huge price tag on him when compare with the likes of Moutinho etc.

Merged it with this thread since it's about our transfer business this summer. No need to create another separate thread.

Disagree when you said he relegated Torres to a 2nd fiddle role. He hardly ever plays in the Premier League anymore this year because of the Europa League and the fact Ba is cup tied for that one. So Benitez obviously then have to alternate between the two in those competitions. If we weren't playing in the Europa League, then I would wager Torres would be starting loads of the Premier League matches. One of the things he has done well is actually managing the thin squad especially in the face of the amount of games we have to play this season. No doubt that sometimes his starting XI (and his substitutions) are mind boggling, as you pointed out, but ultimately his rotation benefited the squad in keeping the squad as fresh as possible without any real injuries, till recently, and still being able to gain good results.

Lampard signing the 1 year contract extension means him, Terry and Cole's contract will all expire at the same time next summer.
-
No no no. As @Leif said, Jorge Jesus is the exotic version of Neil Warnock..
-
That's because Cabaye is a midfield playmaker and it is one of the areas we need to improve/bolster in the squad.
-
Indeed. Actually thought it was going to land on top of the goal given how high and long the ball took to come down.

What's with Azpilicueta and giving away unfortunate penalties?! Not saying yesterday penalty wasn't a penalty because his hand were in an unnatural position but it certainly wasn't intentional and then of course, the referee penalized him for a supposed (non-existent) challenge against Rubin Kazan and Basel!

Brilliant news! GET IN!! :cfc:

Congrats to the members that have won those awards above. And I would also like to thank those that nominated and voted for me in 2 of the voting categories. Appreciate it very much. Also @CHOULO19 only won the 'Best Staff Member' award because of his 'services'. Bloody award fixing scandal!

I would rather complete the job ourselves and not rely on others to screw up OR do the job for us. Getting 1 point might do it but looks unlikely. 3. Chelsea - 72 points (GD +35) 4. Arsenal - 70 points (GD +34) Arsenal could easily beat Newcastle by 2 goals given that they have been in poor form and us drawing Everton then would see us dropping down to 4th and facing an unwanted CL play-off next season. OR worse, we could end up having to face Arsenal in a play-off to decide who finish 3rd if both of us finish with the same points, goal difference and goals scored. Best to just play the strongest team possible, win the game and don't have to worry about others. After all, it's our last home game of the season. Better to end of a high as well after the recent good run of results. And oh, I doubt that team you suggested there would even be able to take a point from this.

By the way, this game is played on the 19th May. One year after winning the Champions League! :cfc:

Erm, that team isn't going to beat Everton and get the 3 points we need to secure 3rd!
