  1. Why are people so afraid of that? It's not like we don't have our own threat and special talents in the team. And besides, we'll be bolstering our squad come this summer.
  2. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1448289/cabaye-hints-premier-league-move?cc=4716 If we are to improve our pivot play, surely we should be looking to raid Newcastle for him.
  3. Merged it with this thread since it concerns CL qualification and the issue has already been mentioned here.
  4. Chelsea silent on reports Frank Lampard has signed new contract
  5. Here's a more detailed explanation and the complications that will occur if we do have to face Arsenal in a play-off. http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1448294/arsenal-chelsea-face-ucl-play-off?cc=4716
  6. Oh how typical. Now somebody wants the voting poll to be closed when he's ahead in the votes. Award fixing scandal.....
  7. The Premier League have confirmed it would be a Chelsea vs Arsenal play-off That scenario could potentially happen...
  8. Rafa Benitez should be afforded lap of honour by Chelsea fans
  9. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/14/frank-lampard-chelsea-benfica-europa Some team news from the Guardian. Only have 18 players to select from?! That might mean Benayoun, Marin, Ferreira will all be on the bench!

  11. Roberto Mancini 'arrogant and vain' says former Manchester City kit man
  12. Well, Torres did alright against Benfica in Portugal last season. Made a good strong run to setup Kalou's winning goal.
  13. He did and has apologized for the comment. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22513726
  14. Yeah, basically we have to. If other results go our way, then we don't have to win but best to just get the 3 points and not worry about others. In the case of a team finishing 4th in England, that team will have to go through a two-legged play-off round. Whichever opposition that team gets will depend on who comes through the qualifying rounds and how UEFA separate them into 'seeded' and 'unseeded' categories based on UEFA coefficients. The link below might give you a better picture (it's this season CL season qualifying rounds and play-offs). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_UEFA_Champions_League_qualifying_phase_and_play-off_round#Play-off_round
  15. And Alan Pardew apparently said last weekend he wouldn't mind if Newcastle lost 4-0... Anyway, after getting hammered in their last 2 home games, I would imagine Pardew wants his side to perform well this time and restore some pride at SJP. But generally, agree with you. Beat Everton and we don't have to worry about anyone else.
  16. Yeah. There's all that scoreline complications but would like to think we are capable of scoring at least 1 goal against Everton.
  17. Have just merged with this since it concerns CL qualification.
  18. League Standings: 3. Chelsea - P37 72pts (GD +35) 4. Arsenal - P37 70pts (GD +34) 5. Tottenham - P37 69pts (GD +19) Remaining Matches: Chelsea - Everton(H) Arsenal - Newcastle(A) Tottenham - Sunderland(H) To guarantee a 3rd place finish, we need to beat Everton. A draw would be enough provided Arsenal don't win at Newcastle by 2 goals or more. With Newcastle in poor form, wouldn't put it past Arsenal to win by 2 goals or more. So, a win against Everton on Sunday is a must!
  19. Are you sure he actually said that? Have not seen any fuss or 'celebration' whatsoever on Twitter.
  20. From the club's selfish POV, Ramires missing out for the Confederations Cup is a good news for us. Can get a proper break after a long hard season and return fresh for next season. Shame Luiz and Oscar are in the squad especially the latter. He could do with a break!
