Ridiculous? Have heard and read many United fans saying the same and it's been fairly obvious to many. And how you know he doesn't complain? He might not have done it in the public for fear of Fergie but even the latter himself said Rooney wants to leave because he is unhappy of being taken off a few times this season, meaning he has complained behind doors. And what about always seem to come back for pre-season looking unfit and struggling early on in the season for the past few years? That's not an attitude problem?! As for what Mourinho said about Rooney, so just because he said that then we are not allowed to disagree with him?! Buying any player is basically a risk BUT when you do that, you basically look at which player(s) can give you the most. You look at their current state, characteristics, potential etc and looking at Rooney right now as well as his form in the past 3 years, it will be a major risk of a move and it may well end up like Torres here. And not to mention, Rooney will command a massive wages here, which would be ridiculous for us to pay him so much!

If that is the case, then why would United even want to sell him? The fact is, great and consistent performances from Rooney has too few and far between in the past 3 years. He may have scored goals here and there but his form otherwise have been appalling for someone of his supposed quality. And more importantly, he has an attitude problem. Seem to throw tantrums around when things aren't going his way. Never seem to take care of his own fitness during off season and always come back into new season looking rather unfit. If even Ferguson has had problems dealing with him, why would we want Rooney here? After 2 years of frustrations with Torres, think we could do with getting a ST who is on the up, not down like Rooney IMO, consistently performs and scores goals for us. And also, a ST that doesn't have any deficiencies like Torres or one that won't attract controversies like Rooney would. Buying him would be a major risk.

Agree. As much as Seb has great knowledge on football, it's unfair for those members that are actually active and consistently post their views/thoughts/opinions on football matters related to us, or general matters. BUT if we are gonna give the award to an inactive member, then perhaps we should just do the same for the same future award as well.
