  1. The club's Player of the Year awards ceremony is taking place tonight and so, please use this thread to discuss anything and everything related to the event. Chelsea TV will be live on air at 10.15pm UK time and can watch the ceremony from there. It's free apparently. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/05/player-of-the-year-on-chelsea-tv-tonight.html ----- Awards to be handed out - Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, Goal of the Season and Young Player of the Year. There might be a Special Recognition award as well. Current holders: Player of the Year - Eden Hazard Players' Player of the Year - Cesar Azpilicueta Goal of the Season - Lewis Baker v Arsenal (U21s away) Young Player of the Year - Lewis Baker Special Recognition - Paulo Ferreira
  2. Sometimes one do wonder if Perez should be removed from the club instead, rather than the managers.
  3. Chelsea's Eden Hazard: Frank Lampard has inspired me since we met - I want a clean public image like him Before people jump the gun and take the headline out of context, please read what he said about Lampard first...
  4. Eden Hazard: I want to stay at Chelsea for years - I've imagined lifting the Champions League trophy
  5. Cesc Fabregas to have nose operation to fix damage caused in Charlie Adam clash
  6. Moyes only managed to get the 3 out of 10 points actually. The other 7 were obtained by an interim or previous manager before Moyes was appointed.
  7. We are heading to Thailand and Sydney for commercial purpose, not to promote the youth players. So, we'll see some of the big-name first team players feature in the matches, just unlikely from start to finish.
  8. Here's an interesting stat: Real Sociedad have picked up more points against the top 4 in La Liga this season (10) than Carlo Ancelotti has in two seasons against the top 4 (9).
  9. Skip to 18:00 in the video. Fabregas randomly mocked Oscar for still being unable to speak proper English. To be fair though, his English is getting better. A tad more fluent than before.
  10. No thanks. He would be another Torres.
  11. AC Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi wants to extend Marco van Ginkel loan from Chelsea
  12. Norwich in the Premier League...meh. Would have been nice to have all 3 Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the same division again.
  13. He only played 1 game in the League Cup and 1 in the FA Cup. Sunday was only his third appearance for the first team this season.
  14. If the Roma job becomes available in 2016, then he might just go there instead. He has mentioned on a few occasions that he want to manage Roma in his career.
  15. Real Madrid will soon run out of top class managers to manage the club, if not already. It's ridiculous how they keep on sacking people the minute they end a season without a major trophy.
  16. Chelsea claimed the Premier League and Capital One Cup titles in 2014/15 and we take a look at the important figures behind the success this season. The 2014/15 season will be forever remembered as a period of terrific success for Chelsea, securing yet another domestic double - replicating the feats of 2004/05 where, in his first season, Jose Mourinho led the side to League Cup and title success. Getting to the top of the hill is one thing; staying there, however, is a different thing altogether. As to what Chelsea do in the transfer market this summer remains to be seen; but you can play your part by supporting the champions on their quest to defend their silverware by purchasing Chelsea tickets here. 0 - Zero home defeats suffered by Chelsea in the Premier League this season. Only three other clubs from Europe's top 5 leagues can boast an unbeaten home record - Juventus, Wolfsburg and Paris Saint-Germain. 0 - Chelsea haven't lost a Premier League game against Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool since Jose Mourinho returned in 2013 (W9 D7). 1 - Chelsea finished with most wins (15/11) and fewest losses (0/3) at home and away in the Premier League this season. 2 - John Terry is only the second outfield player to have played every minute of every game in a Premier League season and won the title (after Gary Pallister in 1992/93). 2 - Following the Premier League and Capital One Cup titles, Jose Mourinho has now won at least one trophy in his second season at every club. 3 - Chelsea failed to score in only 3 Premier League matches this season. 4 - Chelsea lost only four games in all competitions this season, the fewest in a season (all comps) in the Premier League era. Manchester United held the previous record with 5 defeats in 1998/99. 4 - Chelsea have secured 4 league titles in the Premier League era. Only Manchester United have won more times than the Blues (13). 5 - Chelsea's 5-0 win at Swansea in January is the biggest away victory achieved by any side in 2014/15. 5 - Chelsea have now won 5 League Cup titles, level with Aston Villa. Only Liverpool have won more (8). 8 - Chelsea have now won eight trophies - including the Community Shield - under Jose Mourinho while the Portuguese has achieved eight league titles in four different countries. 9 - Chelsea's 6-3 triumph at Everton in August is the highest scoring game in 2014/15. 11 - Eleven of Cesc Fabregas' 18 Premier League assists have come in open play. 16 - Chelsea put together the longest unbeaten run of any team this season from January 10 to May 5 - W11 D5. 17 - Chelsea have kept 17 clean sheets in the Premier League this season, one more than second-placed West Brom (16). 18 - Cesc Fabregas assisted 18 Premier League goals, beating his previous best of 17 with Arsenal in 2007/08. It is also the most number of assists recorded by a Chelsea player in the Premier League era. 20 - Diego Costa scored 20 goals in his first season in England, becoming only the fourth Chelsea player to reach that milestone in a Premier League campaign (after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard). It took Costa only 26 matches to get to 20 goals, compared to his predecessor Fernando Torres who needed 110 games to net 20 goals. 23 - Eden Hazard saw 23 players booked for fouling him in 2014/15. 28 - Chelsea opened the scoring first in 28 of the 38 Premier League games this season. 32 - Chelsea have conceded only 32 Premier League goals this season, fewer than any other side. It means the Blues have now shipped in the least amount of goals in each of Jose Mourinho's five full seasons in England. 36 - Chelsea defenders have contributed to 36 goals in all competitions this season (20 goals and 16 assists). 39 - John Terry became the Premier League's highest goalscoring defender after scoring against Liverpool on May 10. 46 - Chelsea have gained 46 points in Premier League London derbies since 2013/14 - W14 D4 L2. 50 - Chelsea have picked up 50 points in head-to-head matches with the other 'Big 7' (Man United, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton) since 2013/14 - W14 D8 L2. 87 - Chelsea's total points of 87 is the ninth highest in Premier League history; it's one more than they earned in 2009/10 and Man City in 2013/14. 98 - Eden Hazard created 98 chances from open play, 14 more than anyone else. 99 - Eden Hazard created 99 chances in the Premier League this season, 8 more than any other player. 101 - Nemanja Matic has made more tackles than any one else in the Premier League this term. 179 - Eden Hazard has completed 179 successful dribbles this season, 5 more than any other player in Europe's top 5 leagues. 200 - Chelsea have now scored 200 goals in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge with Jose Mourinho as manager. 274 - Chelsea have topped the table for 274 days this season, setting a new record in a single Premier League campaign. 333 - Petr Cech played his 333rd Premier League game against Sunderland; only two goalkeepers have played more for a single club (Jussi Jasskelainen - 379 for Bolton and Shay Given - 354 for Newcastle). 1501 - Chelsea became the third Premier League team to score more than 1500 goals, after Manchester United (1753) and Arsenal (1556). 17. Understatement when you consider it took Flopres 110 games to score 20 league goals for us! 20 goals in 110 games!
  18. Van Ginkel won't be part of the trip. There's still one more round of Serie A games to go.
  19. That could have happened. Roman did want Ancelotti in 2008 but he wanted to stay at Milan and we ended up with Scolari instead.
  20. How is it supposed to be a funny meme when Mourinho and Wenger got accurate descriptions?
