  1. To be fair, Mourinho probably didn't help himself with the way he managed the squad back then. Managing big-name players has not exactly been an issue for Benitez. The more bizarre thing is, have Madrid actually checked his league record? He's a slightly worse version of Ancelotti. Good/great in cup competitions but poor in the league. Would be funny to see how the players and media react to his rotation policy though.
  2. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9858971/chelsea-forward-eden-hazard-set-to-miss-final-game-after-dental-surgery?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Hazard to miss the last game of the season after undergoing dental surgery... EDIT: Just noticed it's been mentioned in the match thread. But, yeah..
  3. 5th and 6th are the Europa League spots. If Arsenal win the FA Cup, then the 7th placed team will qualify for the Europa League as well. Liverpool, Spurs and Southampton are currently occupying 5th, 6th and 7th respectively. Given how English teams have moaned about the Europa League, doubt they'll care too much if they miss out TBH.
  4. So, only 2 league games matter this weekend - Newcastle v West Ham and Hull v Man United...
  5. It feels funny (in a bad way) and probably even undeserving that he's going to get a league medal despite having played so badly and done nothing of note since joining us.
  6. Sunderland have gotten the point they needed at Arsenal. Didn't expect that but fair play. So, this is a dead rubber game for them as well. Want us to beat them this Sunday!
  7. The post looks legit enough not to be sarcasm and besides, there are people who say some crazy things on here. But this is Liverpool you're talking about. The same Liverpool who paid 35m for Andy Carroll and 20m for Stewart Downing.
  8. With the exception of the PSG game, what exactly did he do in the other matches to warrant a red card? Sure, he stamped on Can, had altercations with Brown and O'Shea etc but can anyone prove that he meant to do what he did? Sometimes I wonder whether people are judging Costa because of his 'not so pretty' style and aggression rather than the merit of each incident. And oh, please go ahead and state more incidents. You said he should have been sent off at least five times but I've seen only four so far.
  9. I know not everyone likes his style and aggression but to say he should have been dismissed at least five times is nonsense and an absolute exaggeration.
  10. You might not be wrong about the need to improve our defence but seriously, Toure-Lovren and Blackett-McNair are better ours? Gonna ignore the latter since they are still young but have you actually seen Lovren play for Liverpool? He's such an error prone defender and it's not even funny. He probably makes more mistake in matches than Cahill.
  11. Still. Mourinho and players will want to finish the season on a winning note, especially after what happened on Monday. Wouldn't want another disappointing result and performance before the title celebration.
  12. So in other words, you're confident that Arsenal will beat Sunderland but not convinced that we'll beat them on Sunday?
  13. Well, if they get at least a point against Arsenal on Wednesday, then this game is effectively a dead rubber for them.
  14. Expecting (or hoping for) a strong performance after what happened on Monday. Want us to finish the season on a winning note. Another disappointing result will slightly dampen the celebration.
  15. Possible and whatever the reason, Fabregas getting the red card was a joke. Hardly a violent conduct when much worse offences have gone unpunished. There are definitely grounds for appeal here especially if he gets a 3-match ban.
  16. Inclined to agree with Robguima's point. Doubt we'll sell Oscar this summer judging by Mourinho's comments unless we receive a big money offer for him. Think next season will be the last chance saloon for him though. If he goes AWOL again in the second half of the season, then we might just get rid of him once and for all.
  17. OR he wouldn't get the red card had the ball missed everyone. The question here is, was it an accurate OR inaccurate pass from Fabregas? Could have easily miskicked the ball and it accidentally hit Brunt on the head.
  18. Even though this game had nothing riding on it, glad that the Raheem Sterling story came out as soon as this match was over. Nobody is talking about this defeat!
  19. It's silly from Fabregas to kick the ball straight at someone but really, that was a red card offence?

  22. Mourinho went over to the fans and applauded them.
  23. Said it earlier, conceding 3 goals against a Tony Pulis side is so not funny.
