It was always a criticism I had of him to be honest, typical Arsenal player, wanted to do the job going forward but nothing else, if its any manager its Jose that can shape a player to be better than before who ALREADY has attacking abilities and things need refining. I can't wait for the Spurs game, got my ticket, scarf at the ready.

Golden. Someone tweet it over to Schurrle.

Say what? Top teams destroy smaller teams? Agree to disagree!
-
I'm aware, I've been watching the EPL for a while now.. I do not recall people saying that the defences were bad though.. Not disagreeing that is not 'too good' - the guy is a monster, same as Messi but its a widely shared opinion that La Liga is.. easier to score in, smaller teams and such, its a big point to make but I can't be bothered to write it all out, common sense should have kicked in by now as I said its a commonly shared opinion. And its in no way a dig at Ronaldo, beast.

24 sprints but with a total distance of just 9.4 metres between them. The Chelsea midfielder clearly lets his brain do most of the quick stuff because he can’t be accused of not working – nobody in the 2-0 win over the Baggies covered more than his 7.2 miles.
-
No space, players wise to him, footage to study now as Brendan put it "he's no longer a surprise for teams".
-
Absolute steal, improved so much since he's been here.

Just to add to my post above, I may come across as a negative nancy but let me be clear in that I am extremely excited about this team and Jose in general. We have our flaws, no team is perfect and with our blue tinted glasses on we all pick apart Chelsea more than others because its OUR team.

http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/story/2156477/english-premier-league-raheem-sterling-thinks-he-can-find-long-term-success-with-liverpool Sorry but had to post this I find it absolutely HILARIOUS that the rumours from every elite club in Europe circled one after the other after his lobbying for a new deal during the summer/start of the season now he has to publicly come out and say that in hope of a deal because its clear that no team other than Liverpool would want him. The sign of an elite player or class player, (He's only young, he's tired blah blah blah) is to do it season after season when people are wise to your playstyle. Brendan can say about Suarez all he wants but he created so much space for others in that team and that is how they blitzed teams last season because the attention from the other team was on Suarez and to another extent Sturridge, another who bested from Suarez's space.

My point is not about adaptability - I know we can mix it with Stoke on a wet night at The Britannia whereas other teams cannot or not having a Plan B to Z etc. - reverting to type about trying to close out a game with the different personnel in the wrong situation. There is only so much Jose can do from the touchline, he cannot climb on Schurrle's back and follow him until the final whistle whispering "Track the runner". No doubt we will go far with the trophy cabinet, I'm worried about the latter stages of the CL.
-
Vitesse here he comes!
-
I have to agree with Carlo if he has talking about European sense (CL) - Chelsea have not changed, yet. Lets see where we are or if we revert back to type (City/United games). However one thing I can hold onto is that I will never forget (And that is when I knew Carlo was gone and had TO go, in my opinion) was when we played Jose in the CL and Carlo stood there with his eyebrow raised, no clue, no plan B, no tactical awareness of how the game was played out against that team. Carlo gets credit for la decima, fine, congrats however with that team you should be closer than ever, thats not a dig, he is a good coach (trophy cabinet etc.) but there are things lacking. It is no coincidence that Ronaldo goes to la liga and his goal tally goes through the roof, the EPL is a different animal, especially todays EPL, most competitive league game for game. That said I would back us to beat Madrid over two legs but not a single one off game.
-
Very decent playing alongside caulker not bad.
-
Never gets the credit. Had very very off years 0 2008-2011 in my opinion but solid since Jose
-
So glad he and Costa had a break - both look sharp, had to look twice when Matic scooped the ball over their CBs though.. I thought "That wasn't Cesc.."
-
Improvement, that's what we all want and we see it, the finishing will come.

Not been about talent purely for years now, attitude prevails by far. My old managers best mate is David noble, former arsenal youth player, wenger described him as having the technical ability of a Spanish player and spoke extremely highly.. Also friends with Steve sidwell .. David filtered down the leagues, sidwell still warning a pretty premiership wage. Although I am convinced that, strange as this may seem, youngsters at Chelsea will up their game this time for Jose and this seems to hold true, so far. Players I want to see succeed, in order. IF we need to sell to buy even if its like to raise something stupid I'd do the below, not happy about Salah leaving but its the only logical casualty that I can see really unless we can recoup a bit from a loan fee instead perhaps? Sell Salah (Or loan if we can get a few £m) Loan Schurrle to Dortmund + £10m to Dortmund for Reus Hopefully Klopp can make the same adjustments with Schurrle as he did with Reus, its a win win. I like Schurrle but I feel its immaturity keeping him back at the moment which is strange because I actually had him pegged as a mature player from interviews and past performances etc. but it seems this season and just before the world cup he was trying far too hard to be the spectacle to say "manager, look at me" by taking every shot possible. Jose doesn't value that, he values a Willian (Same as me) I can deal with Willian's lack of attacking prowess because he is probably our hardest worker alongside Oscar/Matic but the talent is there, if Andre had the same as Willian's workrate etc. I wouldn't have a problem with waiting around for that attacking spark to flourish.
-
Same as Lewan at the moment, rumours rumours rumours then in Jan said "Btw I'm def off to Bayern :D" Reserving any kind of excitement until something concrete. Would do £15m + schurrle on loan to dortmund, he may develop like Reus did under Klopp, who knows.

Bump. Yes please.

Big game weak link at the moment
