  1. Bad Moment It's a fixture in our clubs season now
  2. Off topic, but do you post a lot on your phone?
  3. I am sick of the 'service' argument. We don't need a goal poacher, we need someone who can create all by himself to replace Drogba. Falcao appears to fit that bill. If Torres needs the ball to be served up on the platter a dozen times a match to put away a goal, then he would be better served going to a club like Atletico or Liverpool, where current circumstances dictate that its worthwhile to set up a team to do nothing other than bring out the best in a player.
  4. You know, it's early days, but I think we have an outside chance of winning the league. Obviously it would have as much legitimacy as Man United's 2010/11 win which was basically everyone else being shit and United being the least shit of them all. The point I'm getting at here is that every other title contender so far has been utter cack, excluding ourselves.
  5. I think we have just about enough cover all over the pitch. The problem is that the cover provided is unreliable. GK: Cech Hilario Turnbull (lol) Blackman RB: Ivanovic Azpilicueta Paulo Ferreira Ramires (lol) CB: Terry Cahill David Luiz Ivanovic LB: Cole Bertrand Paulo Ferreira? DM/CM: Mikel Lampard Ramires Meireles Romeu Malouda Oscar AM: Oscar Hazard Mata LW: Mata Hazard Marin Sturridge Moses Bertrand (lol) Malouda RW: Hazard Marin Mata Sturridge Moses Ramires Malouda ST: Torres Sturridge Moses The main problem here is we go to very inconsistent and unreliable players in most of our positions once the first choice is unavailable. But if we get lucky our squad players can fill in playing out of their skins, as the likes of Bosingwa, Bertrand, Kalou et al did in the CL run last season.
  6. I don't think it was a bad move, so long as they are playing his wages. Watching him play last season was a bit like watching a cripple trying to finish a marathon. The mind is willing, but the body isn't.
  7. You've been reading from my book. Bos-man will probably score a brace and keep our wingers in his pocket all by himself.
  8. I don't think we have it in us to win the league, regardless of who manages us. Unless said manager buys a new, world class back 4 in January.
  9. Lol, he'll get about 3 games at Real Madrid, all of them stoppage time substitutions at right back. We should have loaned him to some Scottish Third Division shite if we wanted to give him regular game time.
  10. They're a superteam. We're an assorted selection of past it players and future prospects. Even if our future prospects turn out to be world class there's no way we can play like Barcelona. What are we going to do when we're playing Barcelona or Real Madrid or Bayern or any of the other European teams that are light years ahead of us? Pass the ball about and pretend we're Spanish? No, the only way to beat those teams is to select 11 massive, fast, physically unbeatable players and get them all to stand about 10 yards out from our own goal.
  11. We played the same basic slow 4-3-3 in the second year of Ancelotti's tenure, but we were nowhere near as good, because that key trio of Malouda-Drogba-Anelka were off form.
  12. Because we stopped caring when it was obvious Falcao was on another planet to everyone else on the pitch?
  13. That's because they all use vbulletin, which is an old forum design. We use IP.Board. Yeah, I would like a Sri Lankan flag as well
  14. We only scored 100 because everyone was in top finishing form. Drogba, Malouda, Anelka, Lampard, even Kalou, were all tucking away pretty much every chance we got (aside from the FA Cup final where all of those players decided it would be fun to act like Mario Gomez for a game). It wasn't because we were playing any better attacking football, it came down to individual excellence, which has been lacking ever since then.
  15. Torres was never going to do well in this match. First off, aside from Euro 08, he's never had a good cup final, and second, he's playing his beloved team.
  16. Alright lads. We'll come up against teams that don't have the best striker in the world that don't score 2 world class finishes in the first 20 minutes. No need to get worried here, we were simply ripped apart by the best striker going around. No shame in that. There aren't any Falcao's going around the Premier League, or Champions League.
  17. Thank fuck I chose to skip this and watch the Vuelta instead. Badboy is right, by buying technique over physique we have to accept that we won't win too many trophies. This game will show us the future for us against big teams.
  18. The problem with signing Andreas here is we already have Moses. I don't like these combined-striker-winger types. Either sell Sturridge off now and buy a proper, fully fledged striker who absolutely cannot and will not play anywhere else; or keep him and stop chasing this guy.
  19. Perhaps we can do what a lot of those South American clubs do and include a sell-on clause, where we get a certain percentage of any future transfer. So if he does become world class at least we'll be properly reimbursed. As it stands though, 15-20 million plus a 10-20% sell-on clause, for a player who's about to run down his contract and is a 'potential' buy, that's a great deal.
