In fact, Torres was a safer deal, as he was proven in the Premiership over a few years where Costa only has had 1/2 seasons where he has scored goals prolifically

I don't think anyone is saying he'll flop. There is that worry that he will flop because in the past strikers who have been rated higher and had higher fees. I don't want to get my hopes up, Because I did that with Shevchenko and Torres.

Any game I saw him in for Atletico that year was him playing up top with Falcao, only game that I can really remember is the Copa Del Rey final though. Its besides the point anyway. In an ideal world I would have liked him to stay at Atletico for another year before we pay £32m for him. Obviously with our striker situation we need one for the new season. Getting worried about this now. We seem to have some curse on strikers and Costa has only really had one great goalscoring season. Not trying to be negative, but it's vital we keep Lukaku so we have decent back up for him.

We all would have said Ashley Cole was a cunt before his move. Aswell as Torres, funny that we don't like him now compared to being estatic when we signed him. Fabregas would be a good addition, counts as a Home Grown player and 30m isn't bad for him. Get it done Jose.

We had a higher win percentage without Luiz in our team this season, as well as 45% clean sheet record when he was there, compared to a 57% when he didn't play. I love David, but these stats are telling.

I remember when United beat us 1-0 with Fletcher scoring and they were celebrating like they won the World Cup. Proves just how good we were, that when a team beat us it was huge for them.

Yes, I see you point, but I'm saying that even Jose didn't know that Cahill would be this good, meaning Luiz wouldn't get a look in at CB, but still thinks he could use him in the pivot. Mourinho said at the start of the season that he lies, Its all in his character.

You have to take into account the rise of Gary Cahill. I don't think any of us saw the improvement he would make this season. He's one of the top centre backs in the world at the minute in my opinion. It would be foolish to disrupt him and JT to allow Luiz, who is good defensively, but doesn't have the concentration or composure to play at CB.

I think he's set up nicely to have a good second season. Showed glimpses of his quality since his move, and lets not forget everyone was writing off Schurrle before the end of the season. Needs to work on his composure as I feel he panics in front of goal at times.
