As much as I'm not as hyped up about Willian signing for us there is a little part of me that can't help but think Witsel would have been the ideal present from Roman to buy of his Russian friends instead of Willian.

Yea that is true but that is also where the problem is in Mata playing wide. We need a winger who is going to hog the flank for width in big games. Thats why City got Navas.

I didn't actually say that is why Willian was signed but Mata is average out wide. When I look at the Chelsea team I want to see skill, pace and power on the flanks with the genius of Mata in the middle. Then I feel we are capable of beating the likes of Madrid, Barca, Byern ect. Starting with Mata lw, rw against a side like City or Byern you know that flank is pretty much of no use to us throught out the game in terms of attacking directly. In Matas first season we saw that a lot.

Mata is not quick enough to play the wing against the super powers of football. He is more effective centra. That is the most obvious fact about Matas game. With Willian we now have 4 natural wingers in Hazard, Schurrle, Moses and Willian with KdB also capable of playing there. I'm fine with gaving that many options plus pissing of the Yid scum in the process. This isn't our last signing either. Expect a striker almost certainly.

Wake up, he also said that Rooney was our only target this summer after the Schurrle and MvG signings and look how that has ended up. I can't believe we haven't got a striker and a defensive mid yet.

That's how I see it. Mata is a class player who has won my heart over the past few seasons but if we replace him with Rooney and Willian then I won't be too upset. I mean I will be upset but it will allow Oscar to shine in his no.10 role and we get a skillfull winger and a top class striker. The biggest hurt will be watching him play in a United shirt. He would be devastating in that squad with RVP.

I agree with Cavani being more suited to us as he worked well in that Napoli side who played with a very attacking midfielders. I also think Lewa would be the ideal striker for our set up but regarding Falcao, I truly think a player of his quality would find it extremely hard to fail in our team. He has it all and has proven he can score in the tightest of margains!

You are one of the best posters in this forum and 9 times out of 10 I agree with you but this is that odd 1 in 10 when I just can't find the angle you're coming from! Falcao would be an amazing addition to our current squad, he would flourish almost immediately.

Spot on mate. Though we were decent in our first game, I am happy that we have lots of room for improvement where as I hope City blow their beans too soon and cracks start to stretch in their season. United are great examples of starting slow and steadily growing as the season progresses.

What's the fucking problem with people fantacising over Robert LikeABossKi joining.? We need a striker of his class and we have the financial power to pull of a late transfer, especially if Mourinho gets involved personally. Yes it is very unlikely him joining with his love for Byern but there is a small chance something out of the ordinary can happen. Thats why the thread is open !

Epeople forget how unpredictable football is and that anything can happen untill now and the end of the season. City did look mustard tonight but look at how we started last season allbeit with a weaker squad.
