Didn't they have some match fixing scandal in Turkey last year? Obvious choice for UEFA then.
-
Anu news on who the referee will be? Wonder if they'll bring Ovrebo back from retirement for this one?
-
Messi was more than invisible today, maybe because he's still in Gary Cahill's pocket.
-
If Barcelona are as bad on Tuesday as they were today against Real Madrid then who knows, maybe we could actually make it to the final.
-
Four points behind Newcastle actually and we're yet to play them at Stamford Bridge. It's not impossible but going to be tough...
-
No point excluding Torres from that list. He doesn't deserve to escape criticism after a horrible performance just because he cost £50m and is one of the highest paid players in the team.
-
Many fans (myself included) are frustrated with Torres too but it's so obvious there's no point even whining about it anymore. That being said I want Torres to fuck off in the summer as well, if anyone even wants him...
-
His selfishness didn't matter much when he was in good form but now he's been a very frustrating player for months and I'm glad Di Matteo isn't playing him. If someone actually wants him in the summer the price is 20 mil and I'd drive him there myself. There are many players out there for that kind of money who got as much potential as Sturridge to become world class players but with a much better attitude and are actually willing to play for the team and not just themselves.
-
Kalou and Malouda of course.
-
An absolute monster that man. Would probably be cheaper than Cavani or Falcao.
-
That's eight changes from Barcelona match and pretty much the lineup I'd hoped for a few pages back. Didn't think Di Matteo would even think about actually playing some lineup like that for such and important match but what a pleasant surprise. Good to have Romeu back. edit: One negative thing though. Where the fuck is Lukaku seeing as there are now no strikers on the bench?
-
Feruz 3-0, a lovely assist by Chalobah.
-
What a goal by Baker.
-
1-0 Chalobah header!
-
Luiz and Abramovich also spotted in the stands sitting next to each other.

Bertrand is ready. I wouldn't be against selling Cole in the summer and then buy some decent left-back who could rotate with Ryan. If we were to be so unfortunate to finish lower than 4th and not win the CL then there's the Europa League next season. It could be a good opportunity for all of De Bruyne, Lukaku, Kakuta and McEachran to get a decent amount of minutes under their belts and slowly start taking their places in the team but I'm not so sure if all of them are ready to be first team regulars on a permanent basis as early as next season. Much will depend on who the manager will be...

Who knows, maybe they're just playing mind games and trolling Barcelona. Most likely Drogba wouldn't play against Arsenal anyway and based on those comments Barcelona now have to prepare to play against Torres and they get all confused when it is once again the Mighty Drog playing against them on Tuesday. Or he could really be injured, in which case we are fucked.
-
What a goal that was by Falcao.
-
I know his contract is expiring but I'm just worried that Chelsea's board will fuck this up and give him some ridiculous contract extension. If there are other good teams interested in him, it increases the chances that he will actually be gone come next season.
-
Didn't we play 2008 CL final in 08/09 kit and the 2010 FA Cup final in 10/11 kit? So I'd say there's a very good chance.

-------------Torres--------------- Kalou-------Mata-----Sturridge --------Essien--Romeu---------- Bertrand-Terry-Cahill-Ferreira --------------Cech----------------- I know this isn't what we're going to see but a good starting lineup nonetheless and the most important players would be rested for Barcelona 2nd leg. At least Cole, Bosingwa and one of Lampard/Mikel/Meireles will come in for Bertrand, Ferreira and Romeu but one can always hope.
-
Mata only touched the ball nine times yesterday so he's not really that effective when defending deep against Barca. I'd bench him and If Barca get a goal or two then think about bringing him in because we have to score but if the plan is to keep the game at 0-0 as long as possible with occasional counter-attacks then there's no point starting Mata. Sturridge defended admirably against Valencia on December when we used similar tactics to yesterday's match so if he played with such mentality next week I would give him a start as he could be crucial to our counter-attacks along with Ramires and Drogba.
-
Not if the player is in on the plan and wants his current club to receive some kind of compensation when he leaves. For example if Drogba were to leave for Anzhi or some other big spending club to whom money is not a problem then why wouldn't he want what's best for Chelsea, the club that he loves? All this is hyphotethical of course and if Drogba is leaving I'm sure that the Chelsea board are not intelligent enough to even come up with something like this and Didier leaves for free.

Was just about to post the same. Against Arsenal we could play the likes of Torres, Kalou, Sturridge, Essien, Bosingwa , Bertrand (if fit, anyone know?) and still have almost as good a chance at winning the game than playing those who played today. The majority of players from today would get a much-deserved rest whereas Barcelona don't have this luxury when they have a title-deciding El Clasico on Saturday and they don't have enough players to rotate in such an important match.
