  1. Actually he left Chelsea for free.
  2. Most of us already knew based on the figures from the previous years that winning the CL won't bring the club an extra £100m in prize money directly from UEFA but it's a very significant amount nonetheless. As you mentioned, there is that £9m increase in prize money from UEFA but in addition to that we will be getting next year's CL money as well which we wouldn't be getting had we lost the final and that's about £30m even if we were to be knocked out in the group stage. Also there must have been some performance clauses in the current sponsorship deals and some extra money will be coming from Samsung, Adidas and the other smaller sponsors. Due to the CL win the club has now been able to secure new sponsorship deals with Audi, Delta Airlines etc. which are bound to bring some small pocket change too. All added together that makes a shitload of money and while it may be a bit exaggerated I wouldn't be second guessing that £100m Gourlay has mentioned.
  3. Have some of that you fucking knobheads. They had me for a moment there with the first couple of sentences the judge said.
  4. I hear a "but" coming a mile away. That's it guys, he will be found guilty, nothing more to see here.
  5. @BluesChronicle: Court rises for arrival of District Judge Howard Riddle, who is about to deliver his verdict in the case. Not long now.
  6. Just posted that same link in the match thread but I guess this is a better place to discuss it. That's a lot of money.
  7. Fair play to Newcastle for being able to get a player of Debuchy's calibre and I'm sure he will be great there. Disappointed we're not really even looking to buying him and instead are getting Maicon in his twilight years on much higher wages. Who knows, maybe he would opt to join his French buddies at Newcastle either way but wouldn't hurt to try.
  8. http://www.guardian....hampions-league Wow, that's a lot of money and a staggering £14,5m more than Bayern München who got the second highest amount. The other three English clubs all got +20m less than our share. Hopefully these figures can put the club closer to FFP even with all those amazing signing we're getting this summer.
  9. JT never admitted to saying that. He admitted to having used the phrase "black cunt" but according to him it was only in a sarcastic context and he said he was just repeating the words Ferdinand had used. Something like "I never called you a fucking black cunt, you fucking knobhead" but with the view blocked in the video when he supposedly said "never called". It's just two men with only their words against each other with a couple testimonies in Terry's behalf. That's not beyond any reasonable doubt one way or the other and because of that there is no case, or at least there shouldn't be.
  10. Kick-off is 4:30 am here but I would probably be up anyway so it doesn't matter. Been missing these match threads for a couple of months now! Should be an interesting match with all the players who participated in the Euros still unavailable which means we get to see more of KDB, Hazard, Marin, Lukaku and maybe even Piazon's professional debut.
  11. Don't normally like children but have to admit that little guy is cute.
  12. It seems PSG don't really care about the FFP.
  13. Could it be that he's staying after all and not loaned out when he's officially been given the number 14 shirt?
  14. Now who do you think would start ahead of him? Andy Carroll?
  15. Time to buy Vidal was last year when he was leaving Leverkusen for peanuts. I wanted him badly last year and he was even linked with us at some point but now that he went to Juventus it's too late and the price must have been tripled after having a great season.
  16. Why on earth is a LB needed? We already have Cole who could go on for an another year or two and Bertrand is improving day by day and his potential should be clear enough for anyone to see. Ryan will take over as number one left-back for Chelsea and the England national team within a couple of years, you can mark my words.
  17. Can't see how some people are upset with those quotes because from day one it has been inevitable that if Barcelona come calling he will want to go back. If he really wants to go sit on their bench or even the stands sometimes then it's his loss and we will have more than enough quality players even without him and at least we would end up making a little profit on him. All this talk of him going back to Barcelona is only speculation at this time and those people already wishing him to fuck off are in my opinion a disgrace, because the man is still a Chelsea player and was only answering to some journos asking him if he wants to go back. Romeu gets abused just for answering honestly to questions in an interview and then we have the same people wishing us to buy Maicon and would welcome the man with open arms while in reality he is stalling to agree a deal to join us because he's still waiting if Real Madrid come knocking and if they did then he would choose them over us any day. Gotta love the double standards.
  18. This case is just pure comedy with all them cunts and knobheads being constantly repeated.
  19. Hazard was £32m and Marin was somewhere between £6m to £8m so together that makes around £40m. A new right-back (Maicon by the looks of it) would be in the region of £6m and it's looking more and more like we're planning to add another attacking player to the mix as well (Oscar, Hulk, Modric or someone else entirely) but I'm fairly sure that it's going to be only one of those and that's it for our transfer business. An income of maybe 10-20m from players sales could be achieved if we managed to ship out Malouda, Benayoun, Meireles and / or Essien for good prices. Obviously getting rid of the surplus players can prove out to be tricky but it's not impossible. So that's somewhat a total of 65-85 million expenditure on new players minus the income from sales and we could be ending up with lower figures than last year and we then had AVB's £13m compensation package paid to Porto in addition to the transfer fees paid for new players.
  20. I'm not sure if that applies to moves outside England. If he were to make the mistake of moving to Liverpool it could mean that Chelsea get a small percentage of the transfer fee paid to AS Roma but that largely depends on what was agreed when he joined Parma / Roma. Hoping he stays in Italy though, I rate the lad too highly to want him to ruin his career by going to the bin dippers.
  21. Last year he got a new contract along with Josh but that was only to secure contracts for a couple promising youngsters. Bertrand has progressed a lot since and taken his place in the first team squad so why wouldn't he deserve a pay raise to get him even a little bit closer to the rest of the team financially? Obviously he already earns a shitload of money us fans could only dream about but I think it's only fair he gets somewhat the same as other players who are of a similar squad status.
  22. Rumors seem to be spreading quickly... Personally I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion one way or the other but certainly seems like a very promising player. Expensive as hell though. Daily Fail already reporting about this like the transfer has already happened. Annoys the shit out of me when they do that.
