  1. Ivanovic at his familiar CB position has been great recently as it allows Azpilicueta to play RB and Luiz in midfield = win. When Terry is fit he can replace Cahill in the starting lineup but other than that Benitez should leave things as they were today, he shouldn't make the mistake of mixing up a winning lineup again.
  2. Still a long way to go for me to completely change my mind about him, especially after what happened in Japan, but if the results continue to be like today it certainly won't hurt his chances. He deserves some credit for improving our defence since taking over, and playing Luiz in midfield as well as giving Piazon a chance have also been things we have all wanted for some time now and he's the one who made them happen. I won't go as far as say he has also made Torres a better player because the opponents he scored against haven't really been that good to make a decent judgement, but I do remember a time when the ladyboy couldn't score an open goal... Like @ mentioned, if Mourinho or Guardiola won't come in the summer (personally I would also add Jürgen Klopp and possibly Diego Simeone to that list but hey, that's just me), I honestly believe we should hand out Rafa at least a one year contract. He was desperate enough to accept a deal till the end of the season so there should be no problem for him to sign any contract we give him. Low risk, high reward.
  3. Would 0-9 be too much to ask for?
  4. Seven clean sheets in the league so far, Luiz has played 90 minutes in every single one of them. Bad at defending?
  5. And seven it is. That post was at 3-0.
  6. Moses hasn't even been that good today, a predictable one trick pony who was always offside. Don't get me wrong, I'd still have him over Hulk any day but today he's not been at his best.
  7. By United standards the answer is yes, but to anyone else no chance.
  8. Borini too, although I'm not sure if he qualifies because he only played four league matches in 2009/2010 season.
  9. Your link ain't working mate, here's what they are reporting now: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2012/12/22/daniel-sturridge-to-have-liverpool-fc-medical-ahead-of-12m-transfer-100252-32482239/ Here it says there were issues earlier this week but everything is now sorted and they can go forward with the medical tomorrow. Initially he was supposed to undergo the medical at the same time as Chelsea were playing Leeds on Wednesday but there was a slight delay in the negotiations and it had to be postponed for a few days. It also says that Rodgers was planning to go after Gameiro if things didn't work out with this Sturridge deal but now the deal is all done, pending a medical. Just had a peek at RAWK to see what they think about Sturridge. To my surprise there were quite a lot of them deluded scousers who are not happy with this signing and some of them even went as far as say that Danny is no more than a mid table signing. Remind me again, isn't mid table exactly what Liverpool are these days?
  10. Because they have to look at the big picture and prepare for life without Courtois and because of that they occasionally need to use their own goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo as well. I'm sure Courtois will play the Europa League games when it really matters in the knockout stages, just like he did last season too.
  11. Cech leaving in the middle of the season with no reason? You drunk mate?
  12. Torres is an Atlético man through and through, he would never go to Real Madrid.
  13. The story about the medical has been confirmed by Liverpool Echo and John Aldridge, an ex Liverpool player so it's very likely to be true. Also, Danny was absent from the match against Leeds as well even though Benitez declared him fit to play. Those mysterious injuries have seemed somewhat dodgy all along...
  14. Time to face reality and move this thread to the Ex Blues section soon. Mixed feelings about this one.
  15. Surely he won't last that long. He has already fallen out with Casillas and some of the other players too and they are 16 points behind Barcelona in the league. For Real Madrid that's embarrassing and they need to make some kind of statement of intent soon. They have a presidential election coming up in the near future and Florentino Perez needs to do something to get the fans behind him and sacking Mourinho would show them he still has balls to do what needs to be done. Everyone knows Mourinho is among the best managers in the world but sometimes things just don't work out and for RM it's easier to change the manager than change half the players, including their club captain Iker Casillas.
  16. He benched Casillas for this match against Malaga and now they're 3-2 down with only minutes to go. It's like he wants to get sacked. Straight swap between Mourinho and Bemitez, effective immediately?
  17. Source for this? Official website reported him being appointed only till the end of the season and he is always referred to as the interim manager by Chelsea.
  18. I believe Lukaku also has more winning goals than Torres.
  19. Clear foul by Barry on the Reading defender.
  20. Scored a great header. What a cross that was.
  21. A good chance for Lukaku, probably should have scored. A shot with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area straight at the keeper.
