Like I said before, I give him plenty of credit for his work at Valencia and it truly was remarkable for him to win the La Liga twice because we all know how much more money Barcelona and Real Madrid have at their disposal compared to Valencia. But let me put it this way, being successful with one team nearly a decade ago and then fail at a few other clubs even though he was given either plenty of resources to build a winning team (Liverpool) or was handed out a squad that was already good enough to win trophies (Inter) is not a great career by any stretch of imagination. Some managers like Frank Rijkaard for example have enjoyed far more successful careers than Benitez but I wouldn't have them anywhere near Chelsea. And even if we were to admit that Benitez is a much better manager than Di Matteo (which he really isn't, but let's pretend for a while), there are no guarantees of success when you sack a well liked manager and replace him with a guy who's hardly going to improve the team spirit by talking shit about nearly all the players because they can't get his old buddy from Liverpool scoring again. But that's all for now, let's give the cunt a couple more games to turn things around before we start calling for his head.

1. If you even read my post, you would've noticed that I already admitted Di Matteo's CL win was a lucky one. People outside of Chelsea don't give him the tiniest bit of credit and always shrug it off as the luckiest win in CL history, so why the fuck should we give Benitez any more credit? And sure, Rafa has won a couple of titles and individual awards but overall his career has been disappointing. 2. Agree with you on the first part, but again I ask why did Roman feel the need to sack Robbie if he didn't have a better alternative lined up. Changing managers just for the sake of changing isn't the way to go.

1. How is it impressive? Only thing impressive about Benitez's managerial career is his work at Valencia but it's been 8 years since he left them and hasn't really achieved anything since, quite the opposite actually because his work at Inter and the last couple of seasons at Liverpool were nothing but laughable. Sure he won a CL title with Liverpool but we all know that came with a lot of luck, just like Di Matteo's Champions League triumph, so it's hard to give him too much credit over it. 2. Where have I said it was perfect? I had my doubts about Di Matteo's managerial abilities even before he got the job on a permanent basis and as the season went on I was proven right that maybe Di Matteo wasn't the long term manager we've wanted ever since Mourinho. Hardly a surprise to anyone because Di Matteo was always considered a stop gap by many. However, in my opinion that wasn't even close to being a good enough reason to sack him out of the blue and replace him with a clueless cunt like Benitez. I'm sure Di Matteo would have led Chelsea to a comfortable top4 finish and at the end of the day that's the only thing that matters this season. Maybe Abramovich decided that a top4 finish isn't enough and the team should be challenging for the title. Did our chances of getting that top4 finish, let alone the title race, improve after sacking RDM and hiring Rafa? Fuck no.

Isn't it obvious? Di Matteo should never have been sacked if Rafa fucking Benitez was the only alternative. It's not like we were in the relegation zone or something that bad with Di Matteo so why switch a club legend to a universally hated cunt who isn't even any better than RDM as a manager?

Neither are televised here anyway so I'll have to look out for a stream. Might as well stream both matches from our group simultaneously as i happen to have two monitors on my computer.
-
What a player we have on our hands here, too bad he keeps playing well for some other club instead of Chelsea. Who thought it was a good idea to loan him out if the plan was to sell most of our midfielders anyway, leaving room for De Bruyne to shine if only he were still here?
-
Haha, I could only imagine the look on Roman's face if that happened. I have to admit that in a match like that I wouldn't even mind losing.

@Rmpr gets my vote.

I know Pastore can be considered a flop but all I'm saying is he doesn't even come close to the nightmare we're having with Torres or some other expensive flops there have been over the years (not just with Chelsea). If PSG decide to cut their losses and sell him, they can still easily get 15-20m and probably wouldn't even have to compensate for his wages. If we sold Torres now, we'd get nothing for him and would have to pay half his wages for the remainder of his contract with Chelsea because there's no way anyone in their right mind is willing to pay him £175k a week now. I'm no mathematician but believe me when I say we're talking completely different numbers here in terms of money wasted. Anyway, that's enough pointless discussion about Pastore and Torres in Falcao's topic or the moderators will get mad. What the hell? Since when is a 26-year-old too old? Go back to play Football Manager, in real life it doesn't work to have a squad full of teenagers. SES is a wonderful talent and I'm sure he would do a great job if only we were able to get him but your arguments are ridiculous.
-
I was just about to post that.
-
Oh come on, Pastore's transfer wasn't all that bad, at least when compared to Torres. Pastore is only 23 years old and will improve. Also he still has resale value should PSG decide to get rid of him and his wages aren't too high either so I'm sure there would be a lot of clubs waiting in line to snap him up. Can't say the same for Fernando and we'd be lucky if someone were willing to take him even for free, without us having to pay the majority of his wages till 2016.

I miss Meireles, our current midfield has been shit lately.
-
Yeah, I remember Jovetic absolutely destroying Liverpool the last time they were in the Champions League (seems like ages ago ). Benitez must have been impressed and Jovetic has only gotten better since then. Not sure how much influence the interim-manager Benitez has on our transfer targets though.

I liked what I saw from Marko, even though he managed to make a couple of bad decisions with his passing. He's not afraid to challenge opponents in one-on-one situations, something which I would have expected Hazard to try more often having watched him at Lille. I know Marin can be a really frustrating player to watch if he's out of form because he still keeps on trying to do something special and then he loses the ball over and over again, but I suppose that in matches like yesterday it's better to at least try doing anything to settle the match in our favour and maybe fail doing it rather than not even trying to break through the opponent's defense and fail with a 100% certainty, no?

They say the PL is the most entertaining league in the world. Aston Villa - Arsenal 0-0 Swansea - Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea - Man City 0-0 Sunderland - QPR 0-0 Chelsea - Fulham 0-0 All the PL matches I have watched within the last week. Where's the entertainment?
-
Boring first half. In other news, Lukaku just scored for WBA.
-
I didn't say he's better than Hazard but on pre-season he outshone him in most matches and we had a reason to expect a lot from both of them. A shame about the injuries that ruined the start of the season for him but it's been more than a month since he first started appearing on the bench and so far he hasn't played a single minute yet even though our other alternatives haven't exactly been firing on all cylinders during that time.
-
Fight Club, what a movie.
-
Maybe because some of us have actually watched him play a lot over the years in a quality league like the Bundesliga and then got really excited about his performances during the pre-season tour where he was better than Hazard?
-
I'm honestly starting to wonder if Marin is even real or just a figment of my imagination.
-
I only smoke pot.
-
It is here in Finland. Not surprising though, because with my coverage I have 5-8 channels just for the PL matches and I can always choose which of them I want to watch. I'm sure there are quality streams available for you guys to watch too.

How does that change anything? Of course he wasn't going to say anything good about Chelsea when he was managing a rival club but why even get involved then? I understand why he sometimes used to slate our players (calling Drogba a diver for example) but there was absolutely no need to insult the fans. He could have gone on to do his job in a professional manner but instead he chose to try and make himself more popular with the scousers by saying the things they wanted to hear and because of that he will always be a cunt as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, he is the Chelsea manager now and while I don't exactly like him, I am willing to give him a proper chance. However, if he fucks up that chance, I will be among the first to call for the cunt's head on a platter.
