Now I am no longer that concerned of who should play as no 10. Oscar and mata played extremely well in ucl. The key for me is can mazacar all play well at the same time or one of the front three have to be winger like Schurrle.

It is crazy that now Schurrle looks like a better choice compare to hazard. For me he played like a winger rather than an am which give us that extra directness to our offense.

To be fair, I watched a few of their games and they looked absolutely fantastic going forward. But I am not worried about them unless they make a few decent signings (cb+st) in December. The funny thing is, tons of people said Arsene out and one world class signing, wenger looks like a genius again.

Offensively they have looked really2 good. Giroud link up play is just fantastic, ramsey is on fire and ozil gives them that extra quality in the final third.

Perfect post. It is exactly what Mou want from his no 10. My concern is that I don't think Mata can adapt to that winger role. For all his excellent technical skill, physically mata is very poor. Hence, if his role is just to come in against packed defense, I don't think he will stay at chelsea.

I think Mata is the better player but I pick Oscar because it is obvious that with the way we want to play Oscar is the better fit.

Good post, but It has been the case for the last 2 years. There has been plenty of thread regarding this matter (double pivot,midfield problem). I am pretty sure our team knows this but like what MU found out, it is not easy to find a good midfielder. The problem is availability. We don't need pure holding player because we have mikel. We don't need a high energy box to box player because we have ramires. What we actually need is their partner (lampard "replacement"). Maybe we can hack andres herrera, but I do not watch bilbao game often to know whether he is good enough for us or not.
