Wow this thread has become crazy. I have said it a couple times before, I want hazard to emulate messi development. A couple years ago, Messi was known to be just a dribbler like what hazard is right now. But right now messi passing and finishing is just world class. I am not sure he will ever be as good as messi. But if he can be close I think even Hazard will be more than happy.

I don't like comparing player based on points(because based on that current kdb is better than prime Andrea pirlo) and let just wait for kdb to play full season before we made any judgement.

I think it is important for us not to get too high. Remember this is just pre season. We played two team that have lower quality than us. They will not play us as open as they did in real match.

I agree I don't think we should judge Torres with Word Class striker standard. he did not play badly but he should have scored at least one.

Excited to see Real because this will be the real test. Milan and Inter will not play us that open in real game but Real will, and it will be a good test for our team. Hopefully both team will play with their strongest lineup.

I don't think that is the reason because naturally he is more of a second striker rather than a pure striker. I think the reason simply because he is no longer the first choice. There is only one more spot upfront and kagawa is a better no 10 than rooney and welbeck is better in term of marking opp dlp. But for us, I agree he will play almost exclusively as no 9. He will give us a deep lying striker that we lack.

Actually in modern football, no 9 has defensive responsibility. He need to be able to pressure opp cb or drop off depending on the instruction. Btw Ronaldo is atrocious defensively, all team that face Real, always attack his side. There is a time when having a no 10 that is good defensively is important. Playing against Juventus is a very good example. Oscar was brilliant last year in term of "shutting down" Pirlo. I really doubt mata can do the job as good as oscar.

Wow I am shocked with your assessment. Zabaleta was epl best rb last season. Nastasic was epl best young cb. Barry and Milner are two great squad player. Versatile and works hard for the team. I really like jovetic, navas and fernandinho signing. Navas is a fantastic winger that will provide them with width. Fernandinho and toure pairing will give them a very mobile midfield with good ability. And I rate jovetic highly.

Even though we already have 3 strikers but rooney will give us a different type of striker. I always like striker who drop deep and link up with midfielder. Somebody mentioned lewandowski which I thought will be perfect for us. But he is going to bayern so rooney is our next best option.

I apologize if I offend you but I still stand by what I said. For a player as talented as hazard he need to produce more. He needs to be the best player on the pitch every game. I want him to produce more key moments especially in big games.

I think because his game is not flashy and sometimes he looks very slow and weak. But his game is really2 effective

I am still not sure why people see Ronaldo in hazard. If you are talking about bale, yes it make sense. Hazard is completely different player. He will never be physically imposing as Ronaldo or as strong as him. I prefer to compare hazard to Messi. Similar built, similar playing style. Of course at this point their level is not even close. But if eden can improve his game and can be close to Messi level, I will be more than happy.
