Counter attack does not mean defend2 and counter. It is more about fast transition,I am not sure mata fits that system. He is much better playing slightly slower tempo and play killer ball. With the way we play right now, oscar is much more suited in that no 10 position even hazard is probably better. After two games, villa and everton, mata has not convinced me that he can play in mou counter attacking system. I really like mata as a player but he is far more suited to possession based team rather than us.

I kinda agree that he is not good at defending and his stamina is a question mark. But for me he is the perfect complement to Ronaldo. Quite surprised that RM sell him. Offensively he is actually a very selfless player and he likes to move to the left to create space for Ronaldo to cut inside.
