  1. If we sign him I still think it will push Real even further to sign Alonso from Liverpool making our lives even easier
  2. I just think this whole "Marquee" signing bullshit is a dick swinging competition
  3. I agree, but does that justify spending 40 or 50 million on a "marquee" player?
  4. Just looking at that it shows how much depth we now have, so I really dont think we need to bring in anyone, unless we offload a handfull of players, then maybe but I cant see too much happening until we sell first.
  5. I would welcome Beckham with open arms tbh
  6. I agree, I have never been a big fan of signing players because they do well in Italy.
  7. I can honestly see him replacing Ferguson at Utd when he eventually retires.
  8. Again all of this gets me think if we really need any more players in this summer?
  9. I have to agree, Etóo is miles better than Ibrahimovic, for me Etóo i still one of the best in the world, Barca are crazy to let him go for anyone other than Villa
  10. I dont think people are grasping this concept that Ribery and Pato are not for sale end of story. I definately think we should look at Sneijder, Bojan i dont really agree with.
  11. Is there anything that you can see happening?
  12. I think Ancelotti would probably want to have a look at all his players before he decides who can go, that is why Sheva and Pizzaro are on tour, remember Pizzaro had a great season with Bremen and maybe Ancelotti feels he could use him
  13. I agree, and even if we dont sign this big name player, and all we get is a few more quality squad players we will still be in a superb position. Especially considering the players that have left Man Utd and the very little work done by Liverpool.
  14. He is a good player, dont think he will satisfy the club and the fans desire for a big name signing though.
  15. Having given this one a bit of in depth thought, I am starting to feel like this could be one of the best bits of business we could conduct for several reasons. He is a highly rated young yet experienced international who could replace Deco as well as play out wide on the right, plently of flair and creative ability. We could get him at a very good price, based on his experience and age this would make a lot of sense. He would give us immense depth and an extra dimension. But most impotartantly, if we pay Madrid between 15 and 20 mil to bring him in, it gives them the resources they require to sign Xabi Alonso, weakening our opposition in League, which could prove vital.
  16. Bertrand will get his chance, he is only 19, Im a bit concerned at the eagerness of Chelsea fans to have really young players in the first team. 23 - 24 is a younger player, 19-20 is a still developing player
  17. Well we Zhirkov to cover Ash now so im sure opportunities would be few and far between at the moment for Ryan, loan sounds good to me, let him get some playing time under his belt.
  18. I really hope we dont sign him, what is interesting though is that it looks like David Villa will stay at Valencia afterall, maybe we could still sign him afterall
  19. Im still pretty sure Carvalho will leave by August 31, so will Deco, Ferreira, Shevchenko and Pizzaro
  20. I think even if we dont sign any more players, we are still in very good shape for the next season, we have a great squad. Winning the league and Champions League also comes with an element of luck attached. Maybe this will be our season, only time will tell.
  21. Well Zhirkov hasny even played a game for Chelsea yet, let alone the EPL, so I dont think you can really warrant what you are saying. Why would we want 3 left wingers anyway?
  22. I have to agree that this is the only one that we have a smal chance at because of his buy out clause, although I dont think we will need to bid as high as that to get him. The question is whether we are willing to pay in excess of 40 mil and then pay his high wage demands
  23. I can completely see where you are coming from with your comments Terminator X. However I dont think it really is the case. I do think the appointment of Ancelotti signals large intent, and the business we have already done so far is very positive work, two quality English youngsters and a world class prospect in Zhirkov. The club has also come out and said publically they intend to spend on a big name player. I also think Ancelotti has highlighted the fact that we already have a world class side who have been in 5 of the last 6 Champions League semi-finals so we already have a squad capable of competing at the highest level. Maybe as Chelsea fans our expectations have become too high and it is time we came back down to earth.
