I feel we need only one or two more players, a midfielder and a striker/winger, depends who we let go though
-
Thats two Chelsea youngsters that McClown will be looking after at FC Twente, Stoch and Rajkovic, good luck to them both, I think McClown is actually doing a pretty good there.
-
Zhirkov is better than Young end of story we dont need him
-
Maybe the club have told him to stay quiet? Maybe they purposely want to take City for a ride and waste their time
-
I think you are all missing the point of this topic, you have all mentioned Pato and Aguero, yes they are great players and what we need but realistically can we actually sign either of these players and my opinion is no. The same goes for Ribery and Villa and therefore I dont believe there are any "Marquee"players left for us to sign, unless you would put Sneijder in that category, who I believe is the best of the lot as far as Chelsea is concerned.
-
Have read all your comments on my previous Topic "Do We Really Need A Marquee Signing", most of you agree that we do indeed need to make a big name signing for various reasons. Which leads me to my next question, if we are going to sign a big name player then where the hell are we going to find one that we can actually get? Other than Tevez who is now at Man City, realistically there is not big name player I can honestly see coming to Chelsea for the right price that would fit in. Many mentioned Pato, Milan have said they wont sell. Many mentioned Aguero, again Atletico have come and said they will not sell. Ribery, same story, David Villa is not interested in England. So who is actually left for us to make our "Big Name" signing?

Wesley Sneijder Or Rafael Van Der Vaart

Ive looked quite deeply into this one, Sneijder is one year younger than VdV, both score a lot of goals, both have plenty of international caps, both incredibly talented, however Vdv is a bit injury prone, in fact from what I have read, he had his miniscus removed from one of his knees, so Sneijder wins it for me but wouldnt mind either. -
I agree, but then why did we sign Zhirkov?
-
I have to agree that I find it highly unlikely that milan will let Pato go or even Atletico selling Aguero, personally I think people get their hopes up and then end up being disappointed when we dont sign these players and yet we still always seem to compete at the highest level consistently. Im against bringing in big name players, let them go to Madrid for ridiculous amounts of money, there are so many high quality players who are not big names. I think terminator is being a realist and I admire that.
-
And who would you suggest drops down to the bench for one them?
-
We already have Lampard, Drogba & Joe Cole who are all capable of this and who have proven they are capable of this. Yes most of our star players are ageing, but we have some seriously talented young players, people forget about Mikel, Kalou, Stoch, Kakuta, Bosingwa is only 25, Joe Cole 27, Zhirkov is 25, Essien 26 I think, so we have young players, I think we should rather bring in players who we can develop into word class players like we have done with Zhirkov
-
I agree with what you are saying, my only concern is the disruption that a signing like that may cause, any big name signing will want to play and im not sure that we could guarantee it with the exception of during the AFCON. Perhaps it would be wiser to rather wait until a player like Drogba does leave and then purchase such a player. bearing in mind the quality youngsters we already have in Stoch, Di Santo, Sturridge, Kakuta, Mancienne to name a few does put us in a strong position for the future.
-
When Torres cam e to England he walked into the Liverpool side, Aguero would first need to prove himself before getting a starting place at Chelsea and I really cant see him consistently starting for Chelsea as we have so many high quality players already. As for terminator x's comparison of Benzema to Zidane, I think you can quite easily compare the two, they are both of similar stature and build, both have silky skills and score many goals.

With Bruce Bucks announcement that we are still looking to make a block buster signing for the season, it got me wondering who they would need to bring in. Perhaps Ribery or Villa, maybe Tevez, Aguero or even Pato, could it be De Rossi or Pirlo? Then I started thinking, do we actually need any of these players? My feeling is no, our first 11 pretty much picks itself, especuially with Joe Cole fit and Zhirkov to provide competition on the left. If we were to bring in any of tese players it would disrupt the team as they would want to walk into the first team. Yes Pato and Aguero are both very young but would cost a fortune and come with large expectations. Tevez would mean we would have to play 2 up front as we cannot leave two world class players out on the bench. I think signing Ribery or Villa would just be luxury signing that we dont actually need, as would Pirlo or De Rossi. I say we should continue as we have been so far and bring in quality players who can add depth and versatity to the squad, like we have done with Zhirkov. I dont think we need more than 2 more signings to replace those who are destined to leave in Deco and Carvalho. If it were me id try bring in Van Der Vaart or Snjider to replace Deco and if we allow Mancienne to go out on loan to Wolves for the season, id want Micah Richards or Steven Taylor to provide quality, young, strong, English talent and not Bruno Alves or Mexes who we have been linked with.
-
I have to agree, hopefully we sign Zhirkov and Pato and then just a midfielder to add depth and we good to go for the season.
-
I think the away kit is brilliant, im very pleased with the two new kits so far, just eager to see the 3rd kit now. has anyone seen Man Utd's new home kit it hysterical.
-
I think a lot of people are forgetting that Ancellotti only officially starts his job on the 1st of July, im sure we will see a lot more activity then.
-
Ive been relatively impressed whenever I have seen him play, dont quite think he is at the level to play for Chelsea just yet, it would be like us siging Didier Zokora.
-
Looks like he is finally on his way to Liverpoo, Hooray
-
I agree, Bosingwa is younger and will improve and is settled at Chelsea and in England, why replce him, it will just cost money that we should be investing elsewhere
-
I think you just need to llok at Barcelona, how many big name record breaking signings have they made in the past? Not many, they create stars and im very happy if we do the same tbh. Yes I would like to see the best players in the world at Chelsea, but id rather win competitions than end up like Madrid.
-
I think we all need to relax with any transfer rumour until the club officially says something, I still think this is complete crap.
-
I would like Bojan he is an exceptional talent, I do however think it is insane to believe that he is better than David Villa
-
I find it strange that a lot of people want him back at the club but they all keep going on about our squad being too old and our wage bill being too high. Get rid of him and bring in someone better and younger
-
Why sign a defender when we alraedy have Ivanovic and Mancienne? I cant understand why we would even waste time with this one? Would do nothing but disrupt a lot of good players that we already have like Alex, Ivanovic and Mancienne.
