His stupid haircut won't eradicate anything not even a little, I didn't even know this "equal" thing was about homophobia. Just another way to get attention and money, typical SJW.
-
A lot of good this has done for them, hasn't it? With both Manc clubs failing so miserably for so long now we can make a case against those so-called world class players being world class.

"Edging closer"

So you think we can play "attractive" football with the players we had available and still win? I know i prefer my manager to have flexible styles and do whatever needed to win, rather than obsess on having more possession and lose 5-0,which we would have had we opened up to spurs. Took the best possible tactical decisions today imo. Never did I think a midfield two of Kante and one of Luiz/Azpi would work. Instead changed the formation, packed the middle, forced them wide, dealt with crosses, fed from scraps in attack but that was to be expected. Some luck factor in it with that Kane post, but he set up the team to maximize our chances and leave as little as possible to unpredictability. Just a class manager and I would so like to see what he could do with a proper squad.
-
Thought he did very well. His one and only function in midfield was to do the dirty work and match up to Wanyama/Dembele in physical battles, not to let us be run over. Probably the toughest job on the pitch today. He did this to the best of his ability to help the team. And he also got into the box and swept balls away like he normally does. Great player to have.
-
Take a bow son. Thought he was our best player with Kante even if you take away his goals. Seems to be oozing confidence after getting that haircut And his free-kicks, my word how good are they! Makes them look so easy.
-
If he hadn't just come off an operation, had had a full pre-season with the team and would be fitter, then I'd be calling that performance underwhelming. But considering the circumstances, I'm just happy he made it through the full 90 unscathed.

Willian having a stinker. Morata too ponderous. Bakayoko a passenger.
-
Yeah, you truly are an expert on transfer basics.
-
Dude, at least be consistent with your argument if you're going to include academy rejects in there. We brought in 5! Don't forget Ethan Ampadu.
-
Perhaps we've already been told that he isn't interested in joining us? There were links, enquiries were reportedly made, but nothing followed. No point in making a bid when you know it's a waste of time.

Tbh this window can still turn out to be very good very easily. We just need only at least 2 more class signings to go from disaster to success and declare our squad genuinely upgraded, and we have plenty of time to do what's required. Squad management to this point has been questionable, yes, but by judging solely the transfer period and nothing else we are alright. Still time left, don't lose hope, we are Chelsea after all nothing is ever obvious. I can see twists coming to this tale and us being much more pleased with state of things next month.
-
Well fuck me, could've sworn it wasn't there before. Or I'm just blind Cheers.
-
I was wondering this too. @Jim ?
-
We already have potential or arguably ready-made upgrades in the club in Rüdiger and Christensen. I have a feeling that Conte is using Cahill the same way he described he would have used Matic to bed in Bakayoko. Think one of them will take over eventually, especially after such a blunder. Think now a lot depends on how we do in the next 3 games without GC and who will take their chances.
-
After all this bullshit the thing I'd like to see most is just Conte walking around after the end of the game smiling and hugging every player. How we're used to seeing him. I want this win so badly, doing it against the odds would provoke a classic passionate reaction. It could galvanise the team. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Just point 1. I doubt he'd even still be here had he not been HG. You don't play whole seasons under different managers and CL finals in a club like Chelsea just because you're English, get a grip.
-
Imo he is captain because 1) He's English and longest serving member. 2) It's a natural progression when the captain (JT) leaves, the vice-captain takes over. 3) He was on-field captain in our title-winning season. 4) He is quite a determined player. All in all people are making too big a deal out of this captaincy nonsense. Leaders will lead, followers will follow regardless of title or armband.
-
Would be unwise of him. Getting sacked is far more lucrative than buying out your contract (the manager has to buy out his contract in order to leave, doesn't he?).
-
Or both of them unavailable together. Fabregas - Drinkwater in a Champions League quarter final... or even against fucking Huddersfield.
-
Would be a luxury signing in our current state, can we afford one? For this money you can buy a much better midfielder than Drinkwater, or a much better wing-back than Alonso. Somebody will get sacrificed if this happens. Christensen sold or loaned in January would be my guess then. We also have Zouma on loan. However, getting in Oxlade and Drinkwater would allow us to sacrifice Cahill instead - in this case I can't see a downside, upgrades all around.
-
No way we would splash 58-70M on Morata if we still had Costa.
-
He doesn't score much at all, so it doesn't make much sense to position him to play to one of his weaknesses (13 goals in 162 apps). He doesn't play RWB at Arsenal now because they have Bellerin for that, here he'd most likely displace Moses which makes sense, because he's a decent crosser.
-
This interview was probably a move to lower his price and force Chelsea's hand. Unlikely to be a coincidence that it happened during the season's 1st game either.
