KRUSE 'ALLOWED TO LEAVE' Werder Bremen sporting director, Frank Baumann, says that Max Kruse wants to leave the club, say Bild. He is reportedly a Chelsea and Liverpooltransfer target and scored 15 goals in 24 games last season. The 29-year-old can play in multiple roles through the middle and is available at €18m (£16m). Good versatile player, young and english being welcome bonuses. Should be relatively cheap too. I'm all for it. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Calm down, jesus christ...

Ideally I would have kept Chalobah and brought in an experienced senior squad member to be the default stand-in to Kante-Baka-Cesc with Chalobah providing extra depth. 5 options gives us comfortable depth when playing with 3 CMs, 4 will leave us short. But I completely understand his decision to go, the guy needs to play. I guess it's time we start seriously thinking about Matic's replacement, any thoughts?
-
He will be 29 soon, 2 years left on his contract, wants out, not a special player and will never become an integral part in any CL aspiring teams. £50m is fucking insane money in this context, we could reinvest wisely to greatly strengthen ourselves further, while not significantly strengthening our rivals. Hell, I would have sold at 40, 50 is a no-brainer. Just a pity it isn't somebody else bidding that much.

Why Liverpool are vastly improving their chances of winning the league by signing Andrew Robertson [...] And while Robertson's arrival will provide the Reds with a quick, attack-minded full-back, it will also give them something else that has proven crucial to their successes down the years. Scottishness. That's really all there is to it, he will win them the title.

I'm just sitting here in disbelief that this has actually happened, and so out of the blue! We all thought this was dead, and then suddenly just for only one day very strong rumours emerged and the next day we get an official announcement. Buzzing! Have a gut feeling (caused by wishful thinking) that he'll be absolutely brilliant under Conte. I'm just imagining him, Hazard, Pedro and Fabregas confusing the hell out of defenders. With Costa, defenders were already accustomed to his physical playing style, you just had to get close to him and not give him time on the ball and chances were he'd squander possession. His strengths lied elsewhere, getting as few touches on the ball as possible, movement and instinct was key... but with Morata they will now have to back off and give him some space, because otherwise he will just go past you with superior pace. It will be very interesting to see how our team will play with him, we can't play like we're used to with a target man, but purely his height still gives us a long ball option if needed. Polar opposite players with Costa, we will play very different football. Can't wait.

It might be "too good", but it's necessary for us to compete. 3 is the bare minimum. It's the club's fault they have got themselves in this situation, so they better rectify it.

Former Blues keeper takes a swipe at Antonio Conte
manpe replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
I think you're confusing a swipe at Conte with praise to Mourinho. Two totally different things and I doubt he would say that with the intention of "hurting" Antonio, why would he even care? -
Filipe Luis for 15,8m, the one that got away. We still need minimum 1 more senior CM if Matic leaves, 1 striker and 2 wing-backs. 4 more signings and we're done. Or we can ditch signing a RWB and chuck Azpi in there with Moses, 3 signings in this case.

You say you are not listening to anybody, yet your post (which quoted Balague and Express Sport) had a strong angry conviction that the board wanted to sign Lukaku ahead of Conte's first choice, Morata, which is exactly what those articles claimed. How do you come to that conjecture if you are not letting yourself be influenced by non-stories like that?
-
Don't jump on the bandwagon. A reliable source is yet to confirm that (or did Matt Law say that as well iirc?). Steve Nicol's opinion is just as good or bad as anybody's and Balague you shouldn't listen to. Several sources, also who we deem reliable, did say that Lukaku was Conte's 1st choice when we were being strongly linked, none of this board Lukaku vs. Conte Morata was mentioned at that time, so it makes me think that they are just continuing stirring controversy. No consistency in those stories at all.

He's probably busy creating accounts on Juventus forums. No but seriously, I don't mind @TheWiz hope he comes back.
-
Did he write something about our capture of Rüdiger?
-
He wouldn't even sit on the bench that much, he'd start and substitute plenty. His only competition is Bakayoko, not prime Vieira. Don't understand why he wants out.
-
There's time. If we are in the same situation when the window ends, then you can start proclaiming us to be the next Arsenal, but meanwhile hold your horses.
-
Aaaah man I totally misunderstood your first post. I thought you were saying that he prefers Lukaku and that should tell something, but in fact you were saying the opposite My bad.
-
So Lukaku suits United's system better, what does that have to mean to us? And if he suits them better, why was he after Morata first?
-
That means nothing. ManU were in for Morata long before they folded and went for Lukaku, clearly their 2nd or even 3rd choice behind Belotti (who you can only poke with a stick because of his release clause). So their hijacking ended up them paying massively over the odds and us taking their 1st choice for a discount price, I'm happy with that. Also, you must know by now that Jose's judgement isn't the best, him rejecting somebody often has nothing to do with the player's footballing ability.
-
"Matt Law, who tends to be on the ball when it comes to Chelsea news, claims that Morata will arrive at Stamford Bridge for a fee of £58M plus add-ons, considerably lower than the previously reported £70M." Well done Marina

Getting excited. I'm expecting him to go up a level as a nailed on starter under Conte's tutelage. He didn't have such responsiblity before, now he will, and this is what shapes boys to men.
