play him on the left and Mata in the middle. I don't know who is the worst player in our squad anymore.. I don't believe it's Kalou anymore. I may just be blinded by the fact that he hasn't been playing, but when he's played, he hasn't been as bad as some.
He's old and slow and his body has been abused enough, he shouldn't be a starter anymore... but our alternatives are Malouda or Meireles, it's a lose-lose-lose situation. With Lampard there is a chance that he might have a good game, it wasn't to be today. The failed Modric bid comes biting us hard.. we were supposed to have alternatives, instead we send Yossi and Josh on loan and sign Meireles and Cahill. Btw, we sold Anelka, where is the replacement? Oh yeah, there is none. We weakened our squad in January - a crime of massive proportions. We only replaced Alex, who some may argue was better than Cahill. We have no option but to play a shit midfield every single game now, and it's becoming harder and harder to believe that they'll be able to grind out the needed results. We had good transfer targets, the club failed in signing them.. and the rest is history (and it's likely that AVB will be too because of that).
So we look good against the 19th side (Bolton) and win 3-0, but then we play a mid-table team and look as if we were the 19th side. The curtain of illusion drawn by the Bolton result was well and truly ripped off. We play like a mid-table team against real mid-table teams. There is no continuity in this team and I can't see where it can come from, although that is what they are after. But to have continuity (of wins, of course), the players must move a bit more and run a little faster. How many shots did we face tonight? It's a shame our defence hasn't really improved, we conceded long-shots here and there.. thank fuck Cech had one of his good days, man of the match.
I'd be embarrassed if I cared of public opinion and reputation. If he doesn't, then he's fine. Although I could always drown my sorrow by buying a new car or a house.
He's 18, he has time to rise. If he has so much potential as people claim, he will no doubt one day be our main striker. Having someone better before him for some years is good for his development - he can learn from them and have competition. Once Drogba and Torres leave, he will start getting more gametime. Can you imagine a 18-19 year old being our main man upfront? I sure can't.
