  1. If RDM does well, then I see no reason why not keep him and Eddie. He's passionate about Chelsea, has a lot to prove and has his coaching badges... what more can I ask?
  2. Was Hoddle the one doing strange voodoo stuff as Neville described? He's extremely superstitious and a nutcase.
  3. When he gets a rare chance to attempt a clean shot, he doesn't seem to know what to do, hence he puts in half-assed inaccurate shots. It literally feels as if he panics when he gets a good look at the goal. He needs psychological help. It's not the system, it's his head.
  4. Positives Win Clean sheet First half of 2nd half Notable players: Luiz, Cahill, Mata, Ramires, Meireles, Bertrand Negatives 1st half We didn't make B'ham look bad even with their injury crisis Creative issues persist Defensive issues persist (the only reason we didn't concede is because we faced a weakened Championship team) Torres - not a striker anymore, can't shoot for love of god (but he was robbed an assist by Sturridge) Notable players: Torres, Sturridge, Lampard (was invisible yet again) I'm happy for Di Matteo and Newton. However, I'm not overly optimistic by what I saw, but I'm glad that my prediction (I predicted a loss) was proven not to be. It's a good first step for our previous assistant and current caretaker manager. All in all it was a positive reaction by the squad (not a surprise) in what I feel was a sense of relief by some players in the wake of AVB sacking. I don't think the group would have hugged after a goal with AVB like they did with RDM, so it confirms their former dislike or lack of empathy for the Portuguese.
  5. Hopefully they see it, all of them.
  6. I heard interesting statistic from commentator. Chelsea lost 10 games under AVB, Lampard played in all of them. Whenever Lampard didn't play, Chelsea didn't lose.
  7. I'm pretty sure he will turn out successful even after that, this job came too soon for him.
  8. not the bold bit please, it will inflate their egos too much and will eventually get Abramovich himself sacked
  9. I think you're over analyzing. I think the hand gesture was exactly that "this is where I scored our title winning goals". We don't know the person so it's almost impossible to say what he really meant. Lol this is almost becoming like those illuminati videos in youtube I don't know what to believe anymore.
  10. Roman Abramovich will clear out some of Chelsea’s biggest names this summer and is determined to see through the 'project’ started by Andre Villas-Boas to create what one source described as a “hungry new team”.
  11. Grant says two players went behind his back to put the boot into him when he was boss. Villas Boas had problems keeping the entire squad onside during his turbulent eight months in charge. Grant, now coach at Partisan Belgrade, added: "It is dangerous for the owners to listen to the players. They talk when they are angry and there are always a couple of players who are not happy with the coach. "At a club like Chelsea with 27 full internationals how do you keep everyone happy? I know of two players who criticised me, not because they were right but because they were angry with me. The owners should not listen to them." He talked some sense there. But this job isn't the easiest in the world, are you kidding me? Just ask Mourinho, Scolari, Carlo and AVB. I also didn't see him mentioning it in the interview, it's just bullshit headline made up. He just said it is easier to take over from the previous manager than it would be for the successor of SAF... and it is probably true.
  12. I love Bryant.. man I grew up watching Lakers games just because of Shaq and Kobe. I watched All-Star game and Lakers vs Heat because of him (I might start watching NBA more often now because Chelsea games alone are now depressing more than anything). I know a bit about lakers background and I think Lampard isn't half to Chelsea what Kobe is to Lakers. Having said that, you guys are right.. a legend is a legend and they should uplift the team no matter what. It's just that Lampard simply doesn't have the "hops" and the "hoops" anymore (if to use basketball terms), but he still wants to play a key part and he shot himself and the team in the foot with that... he has to stop with the ridiculous comments and start earning his place in the team, rather than just talking into it.
  13. Of course Wanker liked AVB "as a manager", we did give them an easy 5-3 victory and gift them the 4th place (for now).
  14. "Big Phil" Scolari - he didn't get that nickname for nothing. He's as tough and authoritative as they come, and yet they ate him alive. The only way next managers will survive is if they get the board's unconditional support, are prepared to endure a rough period and a clusterfuck of "bad moments". For that to happen, they need to make sure that the message gets through to the players, so that they wouldn't start bitching and whining... or else be fucked off. Will that happen? Well, I thought that happened with the coming of AVB, I was proven wrong. It's a sign they are still a bunch of gloryhunting impatient success seekers. They might get a manager, give him a couple of new good players for a title or two in a few seasons, then fire him and go on hiatus in transfer market again (or perhaps sign a flop or three), until those new good players become legendary old bad miserable bastards who will start undermining everybody who threatens their reputation and paycheck in favour of the next patch of good new players.
  15. Scolari: Abramovich must stand up against Chelsea players
  16. Torres's form and detrimental effect morally to the team was without a doubt a part of the reason. Hodgson couldn't make him play, del Bosque couldn't do it, Carlo couldn't, AVB couldn't.... he has run out of excuses. That's 4 coaches, 3 of them world class who couldn't work with him. He demands too much resources, financially and footballing wise.
  17. I can see him saying "I'm back home"
  18. He's this type of manager I don't see how the players could contest that
  19. exactly, we don't know for fact, but we can discuss because there is basis for discussion (the whole point of the forum)... and if you have an opinion on it, fine, it's a constitutional right to have and express it.. but i won't be ridiculing everybody who has a different pov. and especially with the latest sacking, it looks similar to that case and is even more relevant now. it is word against word... one has nothing to gain, the other would have everything to lose if he admitted to the accusations.
  20. This is an interesting subject. I first heard of it when eldo mentioned in another thread. Sorry for bumping a 3 year old topic. Recalling the departure of Mourinho two years ago, Makelele adds: ‘Rui [Faria] — our physical trainer — explained that a lot of players had complained about Mourinho, notably John Terry.’ http://www.dailymail...nho-sacked.html Is it possible that Terry is the main culprit behind the downfall of the club? If the Makelele accusations are true, then he's partly responsible, but so is the board for giving in. And exactly the same thing repeated throughout the years, the latest victim being AVB, who seems to have been sacked under similar conditions - a few players make their disagreements public and reported arguments between them, and weeks later the manager gets fired. I see no reason why Claude would lie about such a thing... Reading his version of events, I'm sure that something along those lines did happen, you just don't make stuff like that up. I'm gutted that in a few weeks I'm forced to doubt the 2 players who are the main reason why I started following Chelsea. Do you still believe so?
  21. FUCK, is it really in Maka's bio? This is too much, I think I couldn't comprehend it if Terry was also in the traitor group (and we know that the sacking of Mourinho was the fuck up of all fuck ups we've had since). WHAT THE F IS GOING ON?
  22. I'll add to my list: Cole, Lampard, Gourlay, Buck... and maybe other board members
