Stop hoping, this is dead in the water. Alex didn't want to leave strongly enough, if he had, our 60-70M bid would have been accepted. Bonucci wanted to clearly leave and he did, nothing to do here anymore unless Juventus want to totally dismantle a team that went to 2 CL finals. I don't blame the board that much, we offered decent money for a full-back, but he didn't want to leave and the selling party didn't want to sell... at least we tried, but we need to get to alternatives ASAP. I would have been happy with that at the beginning of June, but since then we loaned RLC, sold Nate and looks like will be selling Matic too. The players you mentioned won't paper over the Grand Canyon-sized cracks in our midfield. We need 2 new midfielders in addition to Bakayoko and the names (read: positions) you mentioned. Don't think it will happen, we'll be one injury away from crisis again. Last season we got lucky with injuries and suspensions, had you taken away one of Kante or Matic for a long time and Tottenham would have won the league. Same risk upcoming season if we keep thinning our lines instead of beefing them up. No chance in CL either with that squad. We also need a third striker very badly. Michy and Morata/Auba won't cut it. The squad in its current state is in deep shit and we need more than the rumoured 5/6 signings.

It would be greatly appreciated if@Jim could provide some kind of explanation or status update on the issues plaguing the forum and main site. They've been happening for a long time now without much explanation or assurance that they will be dealt with. In its current shape the forum is unsustainable - new users and casual visitors will be put off by slowness, sluggishness and bugs. Visiting this place has become a chore. ^ Tried posting this yesterday, now things are even worse with not being able to post outside from tapatalk. In a 4-4-2 (4-2-4 like it's hip to call it now) you don't have a CAM. Kante and Bakayoko would make up the midfield as the 2 hard-working machines, creativity comes from the wings.

They probably used Rooney to cut the price down. We had no leverage and thus probably should have paid more than 75M, which we clearly aren't ready to do.
