  1. Most consistent footballer playing in Europe at the minute in my view.
  2. Branislav Ivanovic will revert to the centre of defence for this afternoon's clash against Stoke City, knowing nothing less than a win will do. It will be only the eighth time this season the versatile Serb has started in the middle, with his 30 other appearances coming from right-back in the absence of Jose Bosingwa, missing since October with a knee injury. For the first time in the Barclays Premier League this season, we will be without the leadership of John Terry, suspended after his red card at Tottenham last weekend, so it is Ivanovic who steps in to fill the vacancy. 'Who else can play there?' joked the 26-year-old, who has looked so comfortable on the right flank for most of the campaign. 'It is always difficult the first game when you change position but it doesn't matter, the first, most important and only thing is that we have to win this game.' From the official website.
  3. Agreed. And without Terry, we're going to need someone tall and physical like Ballack to make up the numbers.
  4. Spain for two weeks... Barcelona and Valencia
  5. Can see us beating Stoke, beating Liverpool... ...and then drawing with Wigan.
  6. No ROONEY, FERDINAND and NEVILLE for United against Tottenham.
  7. I show him support, but I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's made his bed, now he can lie in it. (Oh, the irony).
  8. Hey bro, I'm just saying I don't want the players wearing Dog-Shit-Brown or Chameleon-Green, did you get that?
  9. Ancelotti has done a wonderful job with this squad. He has his preferred way of playing football, yet he has gone against his footballing principles to play a system he isn't used to. Using what is essentially still Mourinho's squad, he looks to have brought us incredible levels of success this season, and even if we don't eventually win the Premier League I believe he's done a wonderful job. However in his first season - and this goes for any manager - it is vital he gets to learn the player's capabilities. He now knows who suits Chelsea's systems the best, for instance Malouda is just as influential on the wing in a 4-3-3 as he is in the middle in the 4-1-2-1-2. Next season we'll probably see an overhaul of the squad and he'll bring in players he wants - ie. big names, and the youth players. I think it would have been too difficult to bring in too many youngsters this season because of the demand for instant success - we have needed to play our strongest possible team to get us into the position we are currently in, and I am dead certain we wouldn't be on the verge of doing the double if we'd have risked playing too many youngsters this season. This campaign has allowed Ancelotti to weigh up all his options and next year we'll see a true Italian's squad at the Bridge.
  10. Can't stand this guy. If he was as good as Ronaldo I could understand his arrogance, the smug cunt.
  11. Malouda... Zhirkov... Cole? Cream-in-your-pants time, I think.
  12. I don't think it'll get the activity tbh. Use General Chat for now, and prove to me it'd generate enough focus. For instance, create a few topics and if I'm convinced I'll recommend it to the boss.
  13. Carvalho speaks Portuguese Alex speaks Portuguese I don't see the problem? For the record, Alex and Ivanovic can speak 'football English' as Mourinho once called it; ie 'Clear,' 'mine,' 'away,' etc. I'm led to believe Alex's English is much better now and Ivan's was always okay anyway?
  14. Giving Matic the role would be perfect if you want to build his confidence. However, it simply won't happen. We need the strongest possible starting eleven, and that means Deco or Ballack at CDM.
  15. I was overly critical of hope after the Spurs game. He seems to be more inconsistent than bad. Has a brilliant spell then a shocker. But he's not had a bad season.
  16. Gonna be on holiday for this one, so I won't be able to catch it. Shame.
  17. Belletti/Ballack/Deco in the holding role then. I'd prefer to see Ballack in all honesty, Deco isn't physical enough for a game such as this.
  18. We CAN do it. We WILL do it. Keep the faith.
  19. I agree with you. Its all psychological, but when you see names like Lampard, Ash Cole, Malouda and Essien on the teamsheet you certainly feel the team have got the goods.
  20. If we don't win the league, Portsmouth have no chance. If we do, then complacency will make this a harder game than it needs to be.
  21. Be nice if he wins the FA Cup in his last game with us though!
  22. I hope he comes to the Bridge, I really do, but I think we'd probably need to sell either Drogba or Anelka if he does. One of them won't be happy being on the bench - Anelka already hates being played out of position, he'll hate it even more sat in the dugout.
  23. No-one complains about Kalou when he's scoring goals or setting up the winning goal in THE most important match of the season
