  1. Because Neymar is £40 million worth of overhyped 'talent.' Lukaku has raw potential and has all the attributes to be very successful here, Neymar would be more a risk because Brazilian 'flair' players do not have a great history in the Premier League.
  2. Agreed. Whoever feels they can take the kick should have it. Under Ranieri it used to be whoever won the kick would take it, which was quite a successful tactic. Personally I think Kalou is our best penalty taker, he gets all of his penalties in the top right corner, very impressive.
  3. You'll soon learn that Terminator X believes the ally of logic makes him intellectually superior to us all and that his opinion is gospel. The actual outcome is he is an arrogant, sanctimonious hypocrite, and that is where the good points end. People like us who have remained calm are those people who are keeping the faith. Perhaps some others should follow our example? But no, of course not, we're not as good as Man City or Barcelona so we should protest. AVB out! The reason I'm not surprised at this turn of events is because I expected it. We're not as good as people think we are, only diehard Chelsea fans wearing blue-tinted spectacles would think we even stand a chance in the title race. I predicted a third-placed finish, a run to the quarters in Europe and a decent run in both domestic cups, because I'm a realist. We don't have the squad to compete with the very best; ie. Barcelona, City, Real Madrid and presently, Bayern Munich. Yet I remain calm because look what happened last season - people were over-reacting, and considering the circumstances we still had a respectable finish to the season. I remain grounded in my opinions, however, and don't try and force them upon other people. However I'm obviously not a 'real' Chelsea fan.
  4. A world-class midfielder on his day. I actually think he is now well past his best and injury prone, I actually remember making a case for him to be sold off over the summer before he was injured. But presently our midfield lacks gusto and he could at least add a little more dynamism to proceedings.
  5. This thread is quite right, it is indeed embarrassing. So are a lot of the people on this forum. I think I'll leave for a while and come back when people start showing a bit more rationalism; ie. when we're winning again. We do have some very stupid, spoilt fans.
  6. I'm a Chelsea fan so I celebrate each and every goal, whether it's the first against Manchester United or the seventh against Aldershot Town.
  7. In fairness Torres was absolutely marked out of the game today, but he made very little effort to get involved. That pisses me off more than anything. I'd rather him do what Sturridge did against Arsenal; try - and be shit - but at least try. No effort really, really racks me off.
  8. Cech - 6 - had relatively little to do; a couple of decent one-on-ones but helpless with the goal, largely due to Cole being in his line of vision. Bosingwa - 3 - I'd love to play against him as a winger, because he can't defend for the love of God. Woeful performance, equally underwhelming going forward too. Ivanovic - 5 - from the rock solid defender that held us together last season to an out-and-out liability. His ability to read situations really has diminished recently. Luiz - 6 - penalty miss aside, Luiz was solid and put in a decent shift. Probably our most consistent attacking force, he defended well and though too casual with the penalty, I admire his courage to take the kick. Cole - 7 - one of the few bright sparks. Though we are defensively shambolic, the one player who has retained his qualities defensively and offensively is Cole. Tonight was his best showing so far this season. Romeu - 7 - another composed performance from this young man. His disciplined play is remarkable for such a young player, but he has excellent confidence and helped spread the play well. Ramires - 7 - we lost all rigidity after he went off. His lung-bursting performance was capped with a brilliantly-taken goal. Such a wonderful talent. Meireles - 5 - I'm a big fan of Meireles but he was off-key today. His passes were often stray, but he was so unlucky to first hit the bar then see his header saved. Silly yellow card may come back to haunt him. Anelka - 3 - utterly useless. Malouda - 5 - he did more than the other two 'attackers' and made a couple of decent forays forward. His crossing was the most accurate and effective from our wide players. Torres - 3 - did he touch the ball? Did he do anything of note? The man has an assist to his name which will no doubt be sufficient enough to paper over what was an abysmally-poor performance. We were effectively playing with ten men for most of the game; he showed little desire to make the runs he usually does, and his decision-making was poor. Sub: Lampard - 6 - you get the same old play from Lampard. More drive was added when he came on; should have scored though, woeful miss. Sub: Sturridge - 6 - very lively, did more in 20 minutes than Torres has done in the last 180. Sub: Mata - 5 - quiet, but you might expect that with such a late introduction. Should have started tonight. Villas-Boas under-estimated this side with his team selection, but the players are to blame. Complacency has made this group so much more harder now. This Champions League group would be done and dusted but for two penalties. Not a happy bunny, going to go and rape some fuckers on Call of Duty to calm myself down. Match report to come tomorrow when I'm feeling a bit more diplomatic with my language.
  9. Shit second half performance. Complacent play costs us; Luiz was too casual and what on earth is up with our defending? Embarrassing state of affairs at the minute I'm afraid.
  10. Or he thinks he's a cunt, in which case he is quite correct.
  11. If that inconsistent lad you guys call 'Sturridge' had have scored that goal instead of shanking it wide, it would have been the assist of 2011.
  12. I think a lot of people have forgotten about Michael Essien.
  13. He might not be a Nazi, but he is a cunt, and most Nazis were cunts. Nevertheless, despite the connection, he's still a cunt.
  14. For that price and his wages we might as well sign a professional such as Ronaldo.
  15. I love the way Anton Ferdinand retweeted loads of shit about Terry then deleted it, hope he gets done for it, cunt.
  16. A video blog would be an excellent idea as far as I'm concerned.
  17. Negative repped for highlighted part of post.
  18. The topic is up in the Prediction League!
  19. Best kit I've ever seen. Though that is the fan's shirt, the team shirt is a bit different.
  20. No, but there are those of us who think playing him and Bosingwa constitutes a disaster. Ivanovic must play at right-back from hereon-in.
