Petr Cech deserves the award. Seriously. His contribution throughout the whole of our Champions League campaign was phenomenal. Made something like 63 saves. His penalty heroics give him a great chance, too. Add in the fact his saves also won us the FA Cup final and stopped us from being relegated in the league

I don't think he's 'guaranteed' starts. That is the exact reason why so many on here are disheartened, because they want to see our youngsters playing every week. That is unrealistic. Even with Fulham's lack of strikers, they still have Dembele who is truly a striker, and Dempsey has moreorless been converted into a striker himself by Martin Jol. Lukaku is not at all certain to play. He will have to fight for his place.

Cech isn't unappreciated but he's certainly taken for granted. He is the player we miss the most when he is injured. Should the day come when he leaves, or retires, only then will he be truly appreciated.
