  1. I know, but he was obviously goading people into reacting, he even said as much. The staff are taking action.
  2. My attitude towards all members changed with the "Clean Slate" thread. Fair enough we had plenty of petty arguments in the past, but his attitude has improved greatly. He would be the first to acknowledge I was one of the few that backed him when he first came here (though I was also one of those to quickly condemn him when my patience waned), but I respect his contribution as a member, as I do to all. I do not hold grudges, especially over something so trivial as a forum!
  3. I've noticed quite recently that the vast majority of topics are being derailed simply because of someone's opinion. What is the point of having a discussion forum if everyone has to adhere to a single viewpoint? The whole point of a forum is to discuss and debate differing opinions. And instead of challenging the argument, people seem only have the ability to attack the user, instantly derailing a thread and provoking intense arguments. For example, in the Ramires thread, The Madrid One posted an opinion and got absolutely lambasted for it. Fair enough he has the persona of being so pretentious when he posts (God-Complex, maybe? He had the audacity to 'grade' someone's argument, how fucking sanctimonious can you get?), but the point is you don't react. You challenge the argument, instead of attacking the user. Remember, however, that xenophobia - or 'counter-trolling' as I've seen someone label it - are equally punitive offences and if people are caught derailing threads because they have been goaded into an argument, appropriate action will be taken. You might think this is another moment of the Staff going all Gestapo on you all. Well, you're right! I'm just living up to my title of Reichsführer-TalkChelsea! But the long and short of it is this: if you want to argue, do it elsewhere, or at least over PM. Argue about football on the forums. Alex.
  4. Well I was planning on doing that for this one but there is no real way of me implementing that other than doing votes via PM, which creates unnecessary workloads when you can simply add a vote to a poll. I see what you're saying though, just no real way of putting it into action.
  5. Touché. But there's no difference in knowing the votes and not knowing them, because most people would still disclose who they voted for. Either way it is totally irrelevant because the voting has been made public, like every other mod election in the past.
  6. Not really because that way we wouldn't have been able to have had any discussion at the same time.
  7. Done. Your log-in credentials have not changed.
  8. I didn't receive an application from either!
  9. Like it, but far too many photos I've posted it up!
  10. See what you're saying mate but its only really paper talk that suggests we were going after Pep anyway. That being said, if RdM was always first choice, why not offer it him the morning after Munich?
  11. No way to change it anymore as far as I'm aware.
  12. Okay, it is election time! We have 5 candidates... what will happen then? These are: 1. Spike Spiegel, 2. The Big Drog, 3. Shane, 4. LDN Blue, 5. Greg This is because Justin_3d did not submit an application. Manpe and Capriccioso also withdrew. The public vote remains open until Wednesday the 4th of July. The winner is announced the following day after being ratified by the current staff. Get voting!
  13. ^ Real Madrid. Oh, we're not playing word association, sorry! I wish we'd look at our own targets. OR is our transfer policy to wait until a club signs a player for a nominal fee, watch them excel then offer six times what they paid and then to see the player flop? Why can't we bring in our own talent for once.
  14. Really don't want Guardiola here. Not because I am against him, but I am against his style of play. I think he would fail in his attempts at turning us into a successful team, because he would sacrifice functionality for free-flowing football. We just don't have the players to facilitate such a style.
  15. Why? John Terry the footballer is a God, yet one that is a petulant idiot who makes ridiculous errors of judgement. John Terry the man is an absolute twat, you can understand why the nation loathe him. But then again, maybe you can't. I don't know what the extent of coverage the British press gets in Australia (very little I'll presume), so I don't know if you guys get the same sense of hatred towards JT as us guys.
  16. In these two pictures he's already planning how he is going to shave it off
  17. ^ no need for that at all. Edit - in fact there's no need for this thread at all. The point's been made.
  18. Last season's Prediction League came to a thrilling conclusion - but without your help, there will not be a repeat performance next term. I won't be running the competition full-time next season (it requires a lot more work than you would think) so I need either someone who can assist me in a part-time role or someone willing to take over permanently. Jaimin said he was willing to do it, but I'm under the impression he no longer wants to do it. So if you are interested at helping out in any capacity and have past experience of participation in our TalkChelsea Prediction League, please PM me! Thanks!
  19. Capriccioso has pulled out of the running due to having a supposedly better offer from Off The Crossbar.
  20. Also - are there any other entrants? If not I will stick the polls up. I need cover in place for when I'm in Corfu next week!
  21. No, I'll just transfer those members to the "suspended for 24 hours to cool off" part of the Admin CP, because in my experience arguments arise in every bloody topic!
  22. Correct. It is more of a duty than anything else. The hassle really is not desirable.
  23. No, it isn't feasible to have it on during matches. Server load is high enough.
