  1. Chelsea vs FC Nordsjaelland PRE-MATCH DISCUSSION AND LIVE CHAT Champions League Matchday 6 Wednesday, 5th December 2012 Stamford Bridge 19:45 Kick Off (UK time)
  2. Hi, welcome to the forum. For player discussions please make full use of our Player Database forum. I've merged this with the existing DS23 topic.
  3. Lampard is just a talisman. He doesn't even have to play well, you just see he's on the pitch and everything seems alright, because you know he'll either score or set up the game-winning goal. Absolute legend. I feel so privileged to say I've watched him live, in person, more than a hundred times. Very privileged indeed.
  4. Definitely suggests we're looking to bring him back, or at least considering the option. The fact Clarke played him ahead of Shane Long on Wednesday gives the impression he has a lot of faith in Lulu.
  5. This man is going to be the new Chelsea pin-up, replacing Drogba. He is just an iconic player - he has that Ronaldo-esque look. Not to mention he's an incredible player. I genuinely believe that if we keep this guy for four to five years, that we'll have had one of the great players of this generation.
  6. Not sure what's worse - that we spent £50 million on Torres or have an injury-hit player a five-year contract.
  7. Basically I pin-pointed him as the catalyst of all the spammy-shit that we had on the forums. He didn't help himself by mocking Hillsborough tributes, either.
  8. It's a shame they didn't get six penalties, two of which stone-wallers, turned down. Then they'd know our pain.
  9. If you can't "enjoy" yourself whilst playing football and earning £150,000 + every week, you have something very, very wrong with you.
  10. CFCNet is too big and impersonal. Also you get shot down if you don't condone to the consensus. Its an online, new Nazi state.
  11. Definitely. We're missing a lot of the old members like Yougs, Mungii, Elliott, Cara, DavidEU, badboy etc., but we still have an excellent community here. My input has dropped massively because of university, but I am making a concerted effort to return full-time in the new year.
  12. I see what you're saying, but this team simply cannot operate without Mikel. Our worst offensive performances happen when he is absent. Not only does he has the necessary positional discipline to cover for players when they go forward, but his style enables the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar to bomb forward in the same way he used to cover for Essien and Lampard when they went marauding. There is a reason Mikel has been picked for every big game by seven different managers, and that is because he is the engine room of the team. His best work is off the ball, yet at the same time he is one of the focal points of the attack in the way he recycles the play with short, simple passes. With Romeu you have more a dynamic "Hollywood" type in the engine room, but it doesn't work from a defensive point. We were ridiculously exposed at times last night because of Romeu's indiscipline.
  13. Romeu definitely has to be sucking Benitez off to be getting in the line-up ahead of Mikel. Disgrace.
  14. He's better than Torres, plus: Why on earth would Cavani come from the Serie A title challenges, or Falcao come from where Atleti are having a fantastic season themselves?
  15. We're effectively out of the title race with this negative moron in charge, though considering we don't even have a striker at the club I think we were kidding ourselves to ever consider the club as being contenders this season. We need a miracle to progress in the Champions League, also. However if we get a top three finish and win at least one out of the FA Cup, Club World Cup, League Cup and Europa League I won't fucking complain.
  16. Torres shoots straight at the keeper - his career at Chelsea in a nutshell.
  17. His English is improving fantastically well. Definitely our best performer over the last four matches.
  18. Frank, hurry the fuck up and get back. We need our experienced players more than ever right now.
  19. Hazard plays better when Lampard is in the team, in my opinion. Not exactly sure why, but we can definitely point to our worst games this season are when Frank has been absent. He has a calming influence and I think his experience is to the benefit of the youngsters like Oscar and Eden.
  20. Well that guy is from Sunderland, which explains a lot. They're still stuck in the early 80s up there.
  21. The thing is that Torres is the problem. He's a lazy prima donna who can't function with three of the top ten attacking playmakers in European football in behind him.
  22. A statue would be a better threat in the penalty area than Torres would be. Huntelaar is absolute class, I've got no idea why people dismiss that on the basis that he flopped in Serie A.
  23. Would love Walcott at Chelsea. Genuinely nice guy and a decent footballer. Would be an option for the wing and centre-forward. Let's be fair, he has more about him than El Useless.
