Massive thank-you to Barbara and Tom!

Very fair point. I think I have a misplaced sense of faith in humanity. We're all pretty much a bunch of bastards.

Liverpool's sole advantage is the fact they don't have European football to contend with. By the time the league cup final comes around, City will have two games in hand. The onus is on us to be six points clear by the time they come to play those matches, if not more than that. Technically, it's our's to lose, seeing as though if we match the results of the next best team, we'll win the league...

That's a fair point, but the fact so many have shown their support for him demonstrates that we're getting to a stage in this country where we can just man up and move on.

Can't believe I've only just noticed this. Both are you are demoted. On a serious note, the fact this topic has gone so quiet shows how much of a non-story a player being gay is... The only reason it is made such a huge thing is because the media sensationalise it so much, and the language they use - a player "admitting" to being gay - makes it a far bigger deal than it is. Who needs to know about someone's sexuality? It's bloody Draconian for people to do so. I though categorising society ended after Apartheid? Perhaps not.

CANNOT wait to see him run at City on Saturday.

I watched the replay... at first I'm thinking "oh fucking hell, Petr" as he's coming off his line, but I had coaching yesterday in dealing with crosses and what was I telling all the kids I coach? Move towards the ball, NEVER stay on your line when it's crossed in between the six yard box. Just a good finish, IMO. I'm more concerned with Branna's refusal to close down wingers than Cech.

If it's a strain, we're looking at 7-10 days out. If it's a pull, depending on the severity, it'll be a little longer, maybe two weeks. If it's a tear... well, it could be up to six weeks, but the fact he came back onto the pitch makes me think it is either of the first two options. With these footballers these days and the medical facilities available, I think we're looking at two weeks. Educated guess.

We should go for a win - the lad's point is Eden needs a rest. Although he'll have a full week to recuperate between City-Everton.

Chelsea's gain!

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/sense+of+humour If you had a brain, you'd be fucking dangerous. I don't like your attitude, so go and chew on a five-day suspension, grow up a little while you're at it. You think your opinion is gospel - that sort of arrogance isn't appreciated here.

Well, he is really a centre-back! Besides his athleticism, he lacks the characteristics of a full-back. Square peg for a round hole... while we have Azpilicueta, arguably the best right back in the league, playing on the other side of the defence.
-
Personally I think that whilst you have a very good point, the title has always been City's to lose.
-
He was class against Newcastle but underwhelming yesterday. The boy needs a rest. He's played 100 games for us in the space of a season and a half, for fucks sake.
-
To some people, him scoring twice in the last three league games is enough to spare him criticism. I hate him as a right-back. Feel free to go back through this thread and quote the multiple (at least four occasions) times where I've said so. He just refuses to close the wingers done - that is a cardinal sin for any full back.

It's the least important competition we're competing in, IMO, although I do love the FA Cup. My point is, if we lose, it is nowhere near as damaging as going out to Galatasaray would be, or falling out of the top two in the league.

I wish I got fucking paid!

It's very easy to play good football against teams that play good football themselves. Newcastle gave a really good account for themselves on Saturday by attacking us. It gives us the time and space to counter. West Brom are just another lower table team that can't afford to be so suicidal. The people saying this would have been an easy win, I hope you feel stupid. No such thing as an easy win. I told my mate yesterday that I had a bad feeling we wouldn't win. Wish I'd have put money on the draw.

Didn't feel well enough - and was too pissed off - to write my own report last night guys, sorry!

West Brom substitute Victor Anichebe scored a late equaliser to deny leaders Chelsea a vital win at The Hawthorns. The Blues looked set to open up a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table when Branislav Ivanovic swept home following a David Luiz flick from Willian's corner. West Brom keeper Ben Foster saved well from Samuel Eto'o and Willian. But the Baggies moved out of the bottom three after Anichebe got ahead of Luiz to head home Saido Berahino's cross. Chelsea created enough chances to have won comfortably. But Jose Mourinho's side will be replaced at the top of the table if either Arsenal or Manchester City win on Wednesday. The Gunners are at home to Manchester United, while City host Sunderland. Anichebe's 87th-minute equaliser will raise questions as to whether Mourinho's side, who were held to a goalless draw by West Ham two weeks ago, have the quality to win the title. In a game that will not live long in the memory, Ivanovic's goal in the third minute of stoppage time was reward for a dominant first-half display. Chelsea smothered West Brom with possession yet Willian's long-range effort was the closest they came before their Serbia defender pounced from inside the six-yard area. Eto'o had already forced a fine save from Foster, while the lively Willian was denied a chance to open a two-goal cushion by the Baggies keeper. West Brom, who came from behind to force a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on 2 February, again displayed their battling qualities as they rallied in the final quarter of the game. But skipper Chris Brunt and James Morrison lost their composure when presented with chances to equalise. And 21-year-old striker Thievy Bifouma, making his first start since joining on loan from Espanyol, fired across the face of goal. That looked it for the hosts but, moments after Blues defender Gary Cahill had been treated for an injury, Anichebe sent Baggies fans into raptures with an excellent flicked header that lifted his side out of the relegation zone into 17th spot. It was West Brom's only attempt on target in the entire match - yet it was enough to provide another twist in the race for the title. West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel: "The players worked hard and were strong. "We have now drawn 1-1 against Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea. "Now we need to win our next game, the players need to win matches. West Brom next season will be in the Premier League." Taken from the BBC. Click here to view the article

Really don't mind if we lose this, in all honesty. City will be playing with a rocket up their arses to avenge the league defeats. What is most important this season is a top two finish, and to reach the last four of the Champions League. Schwarzer Azpi - Luiz - Terry - Cole Lampard - Mikel Schurrle - Oscar - Salah Torres

We weren't even that bad. People scapegoating players... you have to accept this is the most competitive league in the world, and there is no such thing as an easy game. WBA are bloody hard to beat under Pepe Mel at home. That's 1-1 draws with Liverpool, Everton, and Chelsea now, very creditable. I'm just upset we took the foot off the gas, the last 20 minutes or so they totally bossed it and an equaliser looked inevitable. The fact West Brom scored from their only shot on target, though...
